Vickki 的大头贴! Lol!

10 Tips on buying bikini

Bought 2 bikinis at Bugis Village
The left one is S$35 while the right one is S$30.
They're really very worth it because of the quality and everything(I'll explain more futher).

After I was back from our Hawaii trip, my female colleagues ahhh...were like teasing me about how I look in them bla bla and lamenting on how they dare not wear them because they're very conservative. So, I was saying you know, at least wear once in your lifetime la. If not now then when?? 50 years old?? You're only young once! In fact, I think the trend for wearing bikinis are super super common at the pools and beaches nowadays. You will be getting quite the stares instead if you're not in one! Lol.

So, I'm very happy that 2 of my dear colleagues really went shopping for bikinis on my urging. Their spouses will probably kill me. Hahaha. And they feedback to me that the ones they tried on or bought dont fit very well and they'll probably throw away the idea of wearing one. Please dont!! They probably just haven see one which suits them only. So here are some tips on bikinis shopping. =)

Basically, if you have a killer body, you'll look good in anything(and you can skip this entry =P)! But if you're just a normal, ordinary girl like me, here are some tips on buying bikinis which will flatter you. =D

Tip #0
Never never buy any bikinis which you cant try!! No matter how cute they look, no matter how cheap they are. Unless you really really know your body very well.

Tip #1 (refer to pic on left)
Extra fabric at sides can help to tuck in any unsightly flesh and gives a slimmer and firmer silhouette

Tip #2 (refer to pic on left)
Shape and cutting on top left of the bikini cup(cut in) can help to gather your "upper breasts" so that they'll concentrate towards the middle to appear fuller.

Tip #3 (refer to pic on left)
Choose a bikini with a narrower width in between cups so that it's easier to create a cleavage without using padding etc

Tip #4 (refer to pic on left)
Halter-neck bikini is the way to go for more support for the breasts as they provide more lift and concentration towards the middle. It's also more secure on the whole. Thick straps definitely provides more support than mere strings.

Tip #5
Go for bikinis with underwire if you want maximum support and lift. Basically they're like water-proof bras. But be sure that the cup size fits you perfectly. (The above 2 which I bought comes with underwires too!). Alternatively, choose bikinis with thick straps underneath the breasts for more support than mere strings.  Avoid string bikinis in triangle cups or strapless bandeau unless you're opting for the least support.

Tip #6
For bikini bottoms, the more leg you expose, naturally the longer they look. Therefore, briefs with skirts panel or shorts will make your legs shorter while briefs(underwear-type) or briefs with side strings(to tie at both sides) will make your legs look longer.

Tip #7
It doesnt necessary mean if the bikini top fits you, the same size of bikini bottom will fit too. If possible, try on bikini bottoms with your panties on and make sure they're tight-fitting. It's better to get a tighter bikini bottom than one which fits just nice because they might "wobble" in water.

Tip #8
Go for prints like florals/stripes or basically just any prints unless you're confident with your body. Because wearing plain colour bikinis means more attention will be on your curves. You'll be surprised that wearing clothes are not the same as with bikinis. =)

Tip #9
Pertaining to Tip #8, avoid big prints like BIG polka dots or BIG flowers or THICK stripes as they might magnify your body(Oh if you're very slim and dont mind looking bigger on top then go ahead. Gathers/layers will make you look fuller too. =D ). Instead, go for small polka dots or small floral prints if you wanna look more dainty.

Tip #10
Avoid colours very near your skin tone, for e.g, nude, yellow, light brown, unless you're really fair, as they might make your skin look "dirty" or dull. Always try try try.

And wear your bikinis tighttttttttttt. =) Hmm....I do not advise putting thick paddings in bikinis especially if you're going into water because they'll drip foreverrrrr when you come out from the pool. LOL. Just a thin padding to cover some sensitivity will do. Even better if the bikini itself is made of thick waterproof material instead of flimsy cloth. You wont need padding and it's more sturdy too.

Anyone can look good in a bikini.
Just find the right one and wear it with carefree-ness, confidence and sexiness. =)

I bought them at Bugis Village 2nd storey, pretty near the escalator. It's a store which sells briefs and bras too. Actually the bikinis are free-size and cannot be tried on. But because they're underwired cups, I was betting on they mighttttt fit. Still, I was ahhhh.......holding the cups to mine on top of my dress, trying to estimate. Wahahahaha. Seeing that, the assistant let me tried on and I bought both. So I supposed you can negotiate with the assistant to let you try. =P

Actually I dont intend to come out of my house because my face still haven recover from the sensitivity.  So I cant put on makeup, which indirectly means I cant go far places or wander around(unless watching movies =P). But I received message from Cel that her dad passed away on friday. It shocked all of us because it was so sudden. And the wake was the next day. So I decided to just come out, meet dearie for dinner cum alittle shopping before I leave to meet Jov to attend Cel's dad's wake together at Pasir Ris on Saturday. Our deepest condolences to her and her family.

The Four (movie)

Ratings: 4.8/5
Review: I dont miss shows directed by Gordon Chan(陳嘉上) because he has never once disappoint me with his productions and this is no exception. Coupled with a few of my fave actors like Anthony Wong, Colin Chou and Deng Chao, plus the comedian, Ronald Cheng, this movie is very entertaining, engaging with a very interesting plot. I wont be a spoiler with too many details so go catch it!! It's a MUST-WATCH!

Written by 温瑞安, I will most probably go buy the book to read. Hopefully I have time that is.........

My favorite yeo-ji Mee sua(腰子面线)!!

Love the soup(which is their bah kut teh)!! A combination of white peppery and herbal tastes, I likeeeee~ Costs $8 but pretty filling for me.

Usually I will order a bowl of fried fritters(油条 $1.20) to soak up all those goodness! The yeo-ji have no typical kind of internal organs' smell. Very tender and nice to chew. :) Very nice service, always greeted with smiles. Free top up of soup too!

They serve other dishes too, like prawns, omelette, kangkong, curry fish head etc.

With Sophia wedding on your left, it's at the OPPOSITE side, a few shops further down. :) Btw, only cash and nets.

Disfigured.... =(

Had a fun-filled weekend pator-ing with hubby as well as chilling out at Royal Room with Cel, Iv etc, KTV with Lin and mahjiong with Kt and friends. =D I haven KTV or MJ for so long manz. Thank god for friends! Love Royal's long island tea. However, I still miss the long island tea from Broadwalk at Marina Square umpteen years ago. It was truly the most exquisite and unforgettable drink that I've ever had in my whole life. Nothing like our normal long island tea.....I still remember that was the first time I had alcohol and it was with my first boyfriend and his friends as well. I got so tipsy eventually that I was reciting my IC number loudly to the whole world. Hahaha. Too bad it closed down. Haha. So funny, I think I miss the long island tea more than the boyfriend. In fact, I almost forgotten he's the first boyfriend(not that I have many, dont be mistaken). LOL. He's not an asshole, merely, he's forgettable. But again, we're only together for 3months before we split~ =P It's funny how most guys always remember their first girlfriends. Not so for me I guess~

Movie: Batman, the dark knight rises(ya only for the last half hour)
Ratings: 2/5
Review: Seriously I would have give it a miss if I know the show is going to be that boring and that LONG, 2.5hours. I can definitely put those time to better use. Was looking forward to Batman's new flashy car la, weapons la, nope, there are nothing impressive. Boring WWF boxing moves. "WTF" plot. Other than the bad guys plotting to end the whole world INCLUDING themselves which is totally stupid, I totally dont understand the whole complex story. which doesnt seem to link very well with the last Batman show, or does it? Was hoping for the sizzling chemistry between the sexy and gorgeous Anne Hathaway with Batman and was so disappointed. In fact, the only interesting part were from Anne. Nobody likes a dejected and demoralized Batman. For 45minutes, it's bearable, but not for like 2hours!

Movie: Motorway
Ratings: 4.4/5
Review: Nice! No doubt it's a story between policemen and theives, no doubt it's a car racing show but it's interesting and thrilling! This flick is directed by a new director whom I've never heard before, I was pleasantly surprised. Despite more than 70% of the scenes were on racing, wheels, roads etc but really, it was exhilarating. On the whole, it's a rather predictable plot, however, it has very interesting theories/ideas to do with cars and racing. Barbie Hse had little scenes. Main leads like Anthony Wong and Shawn Yue can act. Definitely worth a catch.

After the fantabulous weekend, I had a lousy start to the week. Tortured with terrible bad cramps on Monday so much so I was like bed-ridden for the whole day, even after popping Synflex like M&M's. Not fun AT ALL. 2nd day(tues), slightly better, bearable pain, can walk around. Weak stomach, thank god for dearie for buying me all the meals. I haven had much time to read most of the time, but I actually finish one book, Secrets by Jude Deveraux in these 2 days. I'm a fast reader and yes I do love reading even though I look illiterate.

At age twelve, Cassandra Madden fell in love with Jefferson Ames, a young man she met at one of her mother's business conferences. Over the years, during periods of loneliness and struggle, Cassie held on to this unrequited love in order to cope with her isolated heart and the pain of a cold mother. Even when Cassie grew up, went off to college, and met a man she thought she'd marry, her heart yearned for Jeff.
In a decisive moment, she breaks off the pending engagement and travels to Williamsburg, Virginia, where the now-widowed Jeff lives with his young daughter. Cassie becomes the child's nanny, but, even though she sees the object of her desire every day, Jeff has yet to even notice her. Then, one day, she hears shots coming from the mansion of Althea Fairmont, an eccentric woman who is thought of as the world's greatest living actress. Cassie runs to investigate, and, in an instant, her safe little life is turned upside down. She begins to learn that all the people around her aren't who they claim to be. Everyone has secrets -- and until Cassie unravels those secrets, she and Jeff will never have a chance to be happy together.

Hmmm.....actually I had this book for ages. I bought a total of 6 novels at a book sale at 3 for 10 last year and this is the first and only one which I've finished so far. Oops~
Actually I have a very bad habit. If a book cant entice me to continue reading, I dont and wont have the patience to finish it. Although I admit it's a bad habit, I'm not ashamed of it. If it's really boring then why read on? Why torture yourself and waste time? It's always my motto, with books, with guys, same same. =) I wont say this book is soOoOoo interesting and exciting that you MUST read it but I think if I can finish it, much so in 2 days, it's not bad! Though I feel they're far too many plots going on in ONE book. And I probably wont read it a second time, but I say, it's worth a read. Erm ya, just A read.
I really do wish my favorite author Judith McNaught can come up with more novels...I miss miss miss her novels so much. Hilarious, sizzling romance with all the female leads having a mind of their own and attitude, I love almost every character. Currently I have a whole collection of all her books and I probably re-read them a million times until they had browned in colour and stinks to the core(old books smell). Wahahahaha. This is true love, baby~ Some of my favorites include "Double Standards", "Paradise" and for the "vintage" series, "Until You" and "Whitney, my love". But I think she's probably semi-retired now... =( Anyone please drop me a comment to recommend me any nice books/authors if any, or preferably of the same in style as Judith McNaught, much appreciated!
金庸 also retired liao..........88 years old........yes I shouldnt expect so much from him too. I also read all his books and have a few of his collections. My favorites are 倚天屠龙記射雕英雄传 and 鹿鼎记. Most of his novels have more sadness than happiness and I pretty much prefer stories with (more) funny parts. =) However, it's harder to re-read as each story has 4 or 5 volumes so through the years, I hardly re-read them anymore. Hmmm.......Maybe I should dig them out 1 day....
Come tues night, I thought I'll slap on facial mask(Beauty Diary, Arbutin Whitening mask) because I've been neglecting my face. And damn, this morning I was greeted with horrible itch, redness, rashes on my face and neck. I was sensitive to the mask and broke out BIG TIME. It was soOoo bad that I had to go to a doctor. Cant stand the itch. And I really hate visiting the doctor, unless in dire need. No doubt, another 2hundred bucks gone and I'm still looking like Mark Lee. =~( Disfigured liao. =(((( The doctor advised me not to wear makeup for 5 days(I had on sunblock and loose powder then). And I was like, "What?? Mission impossible!!" Then he said, "Well, then wear minimal makeup lor. Otherwise difficult to heal lor...".
(=.=)'''''''' Ok lor....then I no need go out liao.
Damn...the face is still itchy...his medicine dont work. =((((((
Really is suay till.......................... Sigh..........

Review of Vividoll.com.sg from Facebook AND BridgettBelle

Review: NEGATIVE

Ordered over a $100 with a 15% off on impulse and regretted immensely.

Delivery wasnt prompt, it took like almost a week or so despite complimentary courier. And even when I emailed to inquire, the replies were hostile as if I'm a reptile.

Most importantly, the items are not true to pic and are of very inferior quality. I do understand that the pricing is considered friendly and I dont have much expectations of them but trust me, when I say the quality sucks, THEY REALLY SUCK. Like any other normal Taiwanese websites have THRICE better quality than them. They looked cheapo and are totally not wearable, at all.

So here is my advice, spend your money elsewhere~

Here is 1 recommendation; BridgettBelle.

Jane is a UK 8,
standing at 1.78m

Items are very true to pic and in fact, Nevada in green looks amazing in real life. Very vibrant and classy, it lends an air of sophistication. At first glance, I thought it's a branded piece from BEBE. Priced at S$29, I think it's super super worth it for it's quality.

You can like BridgettBelle on facebook to get latest updates on their new launches.
Do note Jane is exceptionally tall so if dresses look short on her, it's actually quite our "normal" length. (=.=)''''''''''''

Enjoy your shopping girls.

Took 2 synflex tablets and still having very bad cramps. =(

Plastic surgery, how far can you accept it?

Hmmm............just saw some before-and-after plastic surgery pictures of 3 famous bloggers and I was like whispering to myself...."Amazing!" Lol! I have absolutely nothing against plastic surgery nor them for that matter, therefore, as much as the pictures "wow" me, I'm not going to put them side by side here nor mention their names. =)

I simply had thoughts running through my mind.

The first lady looked TOTALLY different, as different as day and night, as different as 2 person. Previously, she looked sexy with an attitude, now she looked demure, sweet and feminine. Already had big eyes, but now she got HUGE eyes. Lol. And because she looked totally different, everyone know she went throught PS and she is also very very very nice and helpful to share her experiences on her blog. Let's call her A.

The second lady looked obviously different on the eyes and nose. Much larger eyes, even though I thought her old smaller, smiling eyes were soOooOo much cuter. Very very weird bulky nose bridge, major fail. I thought the old her looked better, more kawaii and pretty. Still can see some shadows of the old her.

The third lady....I've never thought she's a plastic baby because she looks so naturally gorgeous now. It's a face which everyone will love, including females. And it's not the typical "plastic" face like AngelaBaby. It's not until I saw her friend, the second lady mentioned above, had plastic surgery....that's how I suspected she might have done it too and began to read her past entries. Hahaha I know I damn kpo. Hmm...not sure whether did she talked about her surgery but all her past pictures on the blog were pretty different...so yes....maybe she dont really care to hide.

Initially I thought she still have slight resemblances to the old her(2+years ago) but much prettier. I just cant call to mind where did she actually operate on. So it was a tremendous success! Just like Jolin. However, I just saw some pictures of her 5 years ago and it was VASTLY different, like 2 different person. She's not ugly to start with though. Hmmm.....maybe she did all procedures g-r-a-d-u-a-l-l-y.........Same hot body though. So maybe the boobs are real. Lol. Opps.... She looks SO GORGEOUS and NATURAL now....envy envy. Though again...her pictures are edited, dont know does she looks as natural as in real life.

I'm not familiar with all those PS procedures and maybe I dont have aesthetical sense of beauty, so I dont have such trained eyes to see through. Da S can easily spot a fake chin or nose on anyone, despite them looking au natural to me(on tv). Li hai!!

So I was chatting to dearie in the car and I told him about A, that her hubby dont mind that she did all those procedures and looked completely different, just because he loves her so much and will support her in whatever she does!

"Isnt that so sweet?" I said.

But dearie got his face all shrivelled up in a frown and said, "Err....but I dont think I can accept if you looked entirely different lor. Maybe some differences ok la...but not completely different as if another person. That's very weird lor."

"Seriously?" I asked.
"You dont want AngelaBaby sitting beside you?? CHIOBU YOU KNOW!!!"

"Nope."

"You dont want D cup NN too??"

And before he gave any reply, I burst out laughing myself. MUAHAHAHA!

Then dearie said something real sweet and mushy, which I wont say here, scared you all puke. Wahahaha. But I felt so happy. =D

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder lah. Wahahaha. =P

Anyway, my thoughts are same as dearie. I dont think I can accept a totally different face for myself too. If can become prettier then sure why not? But cannot be totally different face or with very obvious differences. And personally, I wont do PS because I'm afraid of going under the knife and enduring all those pain and swells for at least 6months. I think I rather die. I felt like this 2 years ago in this entry, and now I still feel the same.

Something changed though. I said this 2 years ago.

"I’m not against it(plastic surgery) except towards people who simply lied blatantly and said they did not undergo it. ZzZzz"

But I dont feel it this way now, for the underlined parts.

Now being 2 years older, I pretty much dont really care if people make their PS public or not, or admit or not, not my business what. If these people felt better not admitting it and hoping people can believe them that they did not do it, then just do them the favors; Dont ask lah. What for? Will that make you feel happy making people admit they did PS? That certainly wont do anything to me. But just by asking the question alone, I believe will make them unhappy. Many things in life, I take the same attitude. I act blur or stupid is not because I'm really that blur or stupid ok. It's not necessary to show that you're smart or whatever BY putting people down or making people unhappy. And I'm disgusted by people who do that.

Sometimes you wont really know how you've changed over the years(maturity level/emotional state/personality etc) until you flipped back your old entries. =) You'll realize sometimes your views change on the same issues being addressed now. And sometimes, you'll laughed at how you thought/talked few years back. 1 of the many fun things of maintaining a blog. Haha.

A said before actually nowadays PS is as common as doing IPL treatments etc and she went on to say not all things are natural on earth, including our makeup etc. I thought that makes sense too. But dearie said, "Aiya...if you want to justify doing PS is okay, you certainly can twist your words until it sounds reasonable and logical." Lol.

She really shared lots of lots of stuff that's an eye-opener for me. She embarked on her PS journey to Korea with just a friend and somemore they both dont speak korean. Have you wondered why most plastic babies looked SOMEWHAT the same? Same humongous eyes, same noses, same face shapes and chin. Because they did the same surgeries, probably all in Korea. Usually you need more than 1 surgery to perfect your features because usually the first one wont be perfect. Good and responsible doctors will give you free revisions to your nose/eyes etc.

Korea plastic surgeons probably have the most businesses because it's so common there. Parents simply give plastic surgery ALLOWANCE as 21st birthday presents to their children so that they can all become pretty and handsome to clinch a good job!! Are you shocked? Haha. So yes it really means 88% of koreans had plastic surgery. And with that, the surgeons are so skilled and experienced that a double-eyelid surgery will only take less than 15minutes and a nose job surgery takes less than 30minutes(shape measured and defined in previous session). Amazing! Imagine like after 30minutes you'll have a new nose, which in some extreme cases might change your life! Alright I'm kidding. But WOW!

If only give birth only takes 30minutes and pregnancy 3months~ Muahahahaha!

Technology is really getting more and more advanced day by day. Who knows, maybe in future plastic surgery can get painless and relatively more convenient and easily accessible? My views might change again too. =)

Think about it. Can you accept your partner looking vastly different but yet he/she IS he/she through and through?

I can. =) I love him no matter what face he has. =)
I just dont wish he love me more if I have a prettier face because if so, he's loving the wrong thing.

Panasonic NanoCare Moisture Ion Hair Dryer EH2271 Review

Panasonic NanoCare Moisture Ion Hair Dryer EH2271 2000W

  • Remove excess sebum with Nano sized moisture ions
  • Protect hair cuticles with Nano sized moisture ions
  • Power consumption: 1200W/600W
  • Body size: 24.6 × 20.7 × 8.6cm
  • Weight: 595g

Panasonic

Remove sebum more easily for a clean and moisturised scalp
Even if you wash your hair frequently, it is difficult to take good care of your scalp. Actually, it is as important to care for your scalp as it is to care for your hair. When there is too much sebum on your scalp, your scalp will become dehydrated and the number of new hair strands will decrease. Penetrate your hair strands and strengthen them against damage
Your hair grows about 1cm a month. That means, the tips of long hair strands has undergone about three years of growth, and during these three years, they have experienced damage via hair colouring and brushing. Nanocare hair dryer is proven to increase
- hair supplenessand resilience
- hair strengh
- hair shine
- hair moisture retention

Apparently it was like sold out everywhere in GainCity, Courts etc because all of them said Panasonic's factories in thailand closed down??? Not sure...and I also didnt think much of it until few days ago we passed by Harvey Norman and I got the last set from them at S$180. I reckon it's a worthy investment since I blow dry my hair almost everyday. Do not mistaken the "Ionity" range with the above mentioned "Nano-care". Most hairdryers have features of "Ionity" which supposedly makes your hair less static. But the main selling point of EH2271 is that it emits nano-sized moisture ions which has 1000times more moisture than negative ions. Panasonic claims "The World 1st Hair Dryer that has treatment effect on Hair & Scalp."

To be fair, Philips SalonDry Control 2000W hairdryer has been serving me AND Vickki very well. For few years already and still as good as new. It was slightly over a hundred I think, dont remember. I still love it very much.

I have very fine hair which was rebonded maybe more than 8months ago. Very oily scalp with dry-to-normal hair, I rotate between Seba-med anti-dandruff shampoo and any hydrating shampoo. I dont have dandruff, but Seba-med helps to keep my scalp fresh for more than 8hours which is triple love. I use Tsubaki damage care conditioner everytime after shampooing and usually I blow dry my hair. They're usually okie and presentable after blow-dry.

Review: Panasonic NanoCare Moisture Ion Hair Dryer EH2271 2000W

On first use, I noticed it's significantly heavier than my old trusty Philips. And although both are 2000W, it seems EH2271 is much more powerful and my hair gets dry much faster(I use the highest power and lowest temperature for both). Therefore it's okie, I treat the extra weight as toning my flabby arms. Wahahaha.

There's a button to turn Nano-care(to emit moisture ions) on and off. So the first time I used it, obviously I turned it on from the beginning till the end to receive all that inherent goodness. And the difference was pretty obvious. Usually I comb my hair after washing, blow them dry artlessly with Philips, and then comb them again. That's because I cant comb through with my fingers while drying them; they'll get stucked halfway. Lol.

But with EH2271, I can actually run my fingers through them while drying. And when I finished drying my whole head, hair looks significantly silkier with more shine, feels softer too. But somehow...I have a feeling that....hmm.....perhaps because they're too silky and shiny, I thought they look slightlyyyy greasy. You know, as if you applied some treatment products or treatment oil on your hair. Which I really dont like. In comparison, hair blown dry by Philips has more volume. It doesnt have that much lustre than EH2271 but definitely looks fresher and cleaner.

Then after few hours, I can feel my scalp getting oily. Which is arggghhhh!

So for the next time after washing my hair, I turned off the Nano-care and blow dry my hair(especially near the scalp) until around 70% dry before I turned ON the Nano-care to blow dry the rest of my hair, shunning away from the scalp. But still, I realized my scalp still gets oily sooner than usual(comparisons are done with same shampoo/conditioner). Like maybe just after 3hours or so, compared to my normal 8-10hours.

So I really dont understand how it claims to "remove excess sebum for a clean and moisturized scalp" as obviously, it gives me even more sebum for my scalp. Hair wise, yes, I do feel the nano ions makes them silkier, softer and extremely moisturizing. But I think....for oily scalp with normal hair like me, it's really not advisable to use Nano-care for long. Perhaps awhile is okie....on the hair ends or something, else hair might just look greasy. Maybe while using, you can adjust the power...because I always use maximum to save time. No patience. =P

So final verdict, this hairdryer is more suitable for dry-to-normal scalps and works best on very dry hair. Yes, I think you dont even need to apply treatment products on your hair! Simply blow dry them with Nano-care EH2271. =)

A normal 2000W hairdryer may costs around $70-$100.........should I sell away this brand new Nano-care EH2271.....? Hmm..............Any interested takers do leave a comment behind with your email.

Thanks for reading!

Best and Worst Summer Products

Haven finish editing pictures for L.A, Las Vegas etc....such a chore. However, just a quick entry to share some favorite products which I used to counter the extremely dry, hot and sunny weather in Las Vegas and also holy grail makeup products which was lasting to make sure I dont scare people in broad daylight. I actually did not get very tanned despite being one who is easily tanned, because I was extremely kia-su applying sunblock anytime, anywhere, much to the disgust/amusement of many.

Just a general info, Las Vegas, as glamorous and vibrant as she is, is situated admist a desert. And during summer, the weather was extremely h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e. While it's temperature might be on par with Singapore, Singapore is humid so there'e still moisture in the air. Not so for L.V, extremely dry and with the scorching sun, some of my colleagues suffered burns or heat rashes on their faces and bodies and 1 got so serious, due to swells/pains and such and had to visit the hospital for urgent cure. So it's really no joke! Do not be lazy! Sunblocks, sunglasses and moisturizers are your best friends! Sunglasses are important too else the glaring sun will obscure your sight. And you'll squint in all your pictures-->very ugly. Summer hats look pretty bulky unless on the beaches, and caps simply obstruct the view and makes your face look dark in pictures no matter how sunny it is. As for long sleeves and pants to escape tanning from the sun, well, so long so you can tahan the heat!

It was kinda funny. While in Hawaii, I was baring all out as I was thinking it's summer, once in a lifetime in Hawaii, get some sun nevermind, at most tan abit, can whiten back with lotion. But hor...as the days progressed, I was really shocked at how fast I tanned. I was so scaredddddd that I become mang-ga-li. Then I began to wear long sleeves and jeans like some of my colleagues, keke. But horrrr............after a few more days, I gave up again, it was simply too hot! Then I starting sun-tanning myself again.........resigned to fate. ZzzZzzz. Actually even though it was very hot there, you hardly sweat because it was almost zero humidity. Dry dry dry!

The following products are life savers, to me while in Las Vegas. I have sensitive and combination skin. Do note not all might be suitable for use in Singapore for different skin types.

Clockwise:
Sasatinnie, facial mist toner, peach

I simply grabbed them at the cashier while settling my bill at SASA since they're like only 10bucks but I'm really pleasantly surprised by them because my skin felt instantly hydrated once I sprayed them on my body/face. Another plus point, it doesnt leave behind a greasy residue. Though again, you might need to re-spray if your skin felt dehydrated again. Sweet peachy smell. I'm not saying it's super hydrating but in comparison with the renowned Avene thermal spring water mist spray(which actually did nothing for me other than making my skin wet) or other mist sprays, in terms of performance and price wise, Sasatinnie peach facial mist will be my preferred choice. Although Avene thermal spring water mist aims more at soothing sensitivity, I realized it only helps veryyyyyyyyyyy minor redness. It really doesnt do much for my ultra sensitive skin which gets irritated due to the weather or polluted air etc.

Laura Mercier, tinted moisturizer in nude, Spf 20

I brought along my favorite Etude House bb cream but somehow it looked extremely heavy on my skin despite looking natural in Singapore. I can only guess it's the summer which makes makeup on your face looks heavier than usual. Maybe our pores got enlarged or something. Anyway, it's best to go lighter on your face in summer, especially in such dry countries. And the above mentioned is great, it's light on the skin, evens out skin tone, though it doesnt hide blemishes. Pretty hydrating and extremely comfortable on skin. However, it doesnt give much coverage. As I wanted my makeup to last for the whole day and slightly more coverage, instead of setting it with it's loose powder, I set it with Etude house BB magic pact in No.1 Light Beige pressed powder(mentioned below) by patting it lightly with the puff.

Biore UV Aqua rich watery jelly, water based, Spf 30 Pa+++

Extremely cooling and comfortable on the skin with it's watery jelly texture. Transparent, doesnt leave a white cast. Pretty hydrating as well, though the SPF is not enough for travelling. Have to apply again and again. I bought along Sunplay's sunblock in both lotion(SPF130) and mist spray(SPF80). But I finished the former halfway. It was not bad but as I got tanner and tanner during the trip, the white cast was really unattractive. For the mist spray, for awhile, I simply wish to throw it away because it was SO DRYING on my skin despite being handy and all. But because I'm not one who like to waste stuff, we managed to finish the bottle. So that was simply not recommended for Las Vegas or for any dry and sunny country.

Walgreens Aloe Vera after-sun body lotion with tea tree oil

Bought this at Walgreens and it was going at 2 for US$5 and seriously this wins all moisturizers hands' down. It was stated, "Aromatherapy, therapeutic moisturizing. Skin protectant with collagen and Vitamins A,B,D & E". My skin has always been drier than normal and it was simply hopeless in the desert. I dont have the habit of applying moisturizer before sleep while travelling, since we're usually so tired already(even though I always kiasu bring them along) but it was exceptional for this trip because I have NO CHOICE. My skin was so dry that it will be painful if I dont apply anything! And the lotion I brought along was simply....cannot make it. I hardly use it in Sg because it leaves a greasy residue behind, but when I applied it in L.V, it was as if I never apply anything. (=.=)''''' Can you imagine how jialat my skin was? But Walgreen's Aloe Vera body lotion is amazing! It moisturizes thoroughly, easily absorbed but yet doesnt leave a greasy residue behind. Skin felt hydrated and I went to sleep a happy girl.

Even now back in Sg, I regretted so much why I didnt buy more! In comparison, the moisturizers I dutifully uses simply pale in comparison. I started to realize sometimes it doesnt mean if your skin feels slightly greasy after apply lotion means it's very moisturized. It simply means they're not absorbed into your skin. A good moisturizer gets absorbed easily, skin felt hydrated and supple, and also improves the look of your skin immediately after application, skin instantly looks radiant and smooth instead of dry and scaly. That's what Walgreens aloe vera lotion do. *thumbs up*

Etude house BB magic pact in No.1 Light Beige

Mentioned before here. Very minimal oxidation, very lasting, great for sensitive skin, doesnt break me out. Bad point will be it doesnt have spf. I did specially bought Laneige Sun Power with SPF 50 for the trip but it broke me out BIG TIME. Argghhhh! Nearly ruined my trip! As I cant reapply my facial sunblock after I had my powder on and the powder dont have any spf, my face actually got much tanner than my body(since I can re-apply for body). =(

Coppertone Water Babies sunscreen, delicate foaming lotion, Spf 75+ UVA/UVB, water-proof

Comes in foam and it's not easy to spread it evenly but the good point is it's moisturizing for the very dry weather. Slighttttt greasy residue but bearable. Also bought from Walgreens and it's the highest SPF I can find there which is not a spray. I now have phoebia for sunblock sprays after Sunplay

I hate having my face greasy so despite being in the very dry Las Vegas, the moisturizers I use are still all water-based and oil free, though I stopped using my oil-control toner. I used a hydrating toner instead. My face....simply oozes unlimited amount of "grease"...and they're just enough for Las Vegas. ZzZzZz

Hope you find this entry useful~

Painted Skin: The Resurrection 画皮Ⅱ

It was notttttttttttttt bad though I feel the story is kinda long! 2hours 15minutes.
Tons of digital effects. I burst out laughing in the middle, because it was like "Lord of the Ring" suddenly resurrected in the movie. HAHAHA!
I still prefer part 1. =)

Pepper Lunch - Cheesy Omelette Curry Rice!

Super super yummy!! No joke.
While the hamburger steak(the one I had) was kinda normal, but I really love the curry as well as the cheesy omelette. It was unlike the very common Jap curry, really kicks a punch. Definitely worth a try. :D ❤❤❤

D for Dynamic!!

I loveeeee my new polka-dots layout!!!! =P

Call me sua-gu, but only awhile ago while tweaking a new layout, I just got to know blogger got these "dynamic" templates for "dynamic" views. I actually dont really know how "dynamic" it can be until I noticed there's a drop-down menu when you hover atop the "Classic" on the top left corner, just left to "Home".

Apparently, there are many views you can choose to view a blog although my default is set to "Classic". In addition, all my labels, links, blog archives etc were hidden in a black slide-out menu on the right(hover your mouse over black vertical bar on extreme right). Hmm........I guess this is the new era for blogskins bah.

Anyway, it was pretty interesting that there are 7 different views; Classic, Flipcard, Magazine, Mosaic, Sidebar, Snapshot and Timeslide. The effects were all pretty cool!!! Do check them out~

Since Dynamic Views uses the latest software technology, they require the latest version of the most popular browsers, such as Internet Explorer 8+, Firefox 3.5+, Chrome or Safari. In all views, search is available in the upper right hand corner.

Wished to lengthen the width of the blog posts column but dont know how to do so. Haiz..........

U.S Part 3/10 Honolulu

Continuation from U.S Trip

Tell you hor, Sheraton Waikiki at Honolulu damn jian loh. You will realize most lounge chairs, especially those in the pool were empty because they have a hefty rent of US$70 a day. As if I will spend US$70 lounging by the pool THE WHOLE DAY. Siao, become roast pig lor. If few hours for US$70, might as well I use the money go shopping or snorkeling! =P

Thank god the beach is free though! With Angi & Caliz~

So are the clear blue skies and fluffy clouds. =D

Love this pic! =) Angi asked me to kiss him one, haha.
Angi takes really nice pictures! Thanks dear!

 Dearie & Dan

Not as sunny as the morning before with Lyn & Carri. =(
Pictures were intensely brightened.

Shortly after, Dan left to meet the other guys.
Thank god, for I can finally take some bikini pics. =P

Hahaha!! 3 camwhore girlies... =P

Actually I felt pretty embarrassing camwhoring bikini pictures. Mostly because I'm there with colleagues, and you know lah, it's not the same as compared with if I'm there with only dearie on a beach where nobody knows us or with my own outside friends. But hell, it's Hawaii! And I dont know when will I be there again, so I was like 厚着脸皮 camwhoring shamelessly in the skimpy swimsuit with FULLY-CLOTHED people.

I felt sooOooOooOo WEIRD and self-conscious. Sigh...

BUT IT'S HAWAII!!!

Heck the tummy, elephant thighs, big ass, you(we) just have to wear bikini on a Hawaii beach! Or Maldives beach. That's simply how I feel. If Singapore then duhz.....wear what also nevermind la~
I thought it will be a shame not to snap... Even so....they're taken when no male colleagues are around, chop chop take one. It's just too bad it's kinda cloudy and not as sunny then..... So well...fine...at least I have a few pics for memories.....I dont think I can wear a bikini after few years anyway. WAHAHAHA! While "time" lasts. Muahahahaha!

It's a shame we dont have more time in Hawaii, just a mere 3 days. If we have more time, we will definitely have more shopping and try snorkeling and the submarine.
To be continued.............Los Angeles.
