Great song with great lyrics

Sorry for lack of updates....simply too busy and tired to blog anything. In fact, everyday after work I just wanna lie on bed and simply relax reading my favorite links, including my friends' blogs. One of them, Rain's @ rainologies, I always love the psychological tests in her blogs. Hee!!

Readyyyyyyyyyyyy for answerrrrssssssssssssssss???

My answer: raw egg in water and boiled egg in pocket
Dearie's answer: both raw and boiled egg in pocket
(His answer so funny: "Put on tree I need to go climb tree, put in water need to find water, put in the ground I need to dig, pocket the easiest la!") HAHA!!

My answer: 3
His answer: 5

My answer: 1
His answer: 6

My answer: 3
His answer: 2

My answer: 8 (black)
His answer: 1 (red)

My answer: flowers, train, mountains, sea (seriously because I'm aqua-phobic)
His answer: Mountain, sea, flower, train

My answer: 1
His answer: 4

Haha....dearie is definitely not 愤世嫉俗....but frankly speaking...sometimes we're both rather disgusted with hypocrites around us....I'm more of...."nahz...this kinda people are everywhere. Just ignore them"....but dearie is such a real and true-to-self person so he really finds such people disgusting and a total turn-off.

Movie Review: Special ID

Movie title: Special ID
Ratings: 1.5/5
Comments: Woohoo!! Quite a long time since I gave such a low rating to an action film. Why? It's not as if there are no actions. Plenty. Action choreographer is Donnie himself and it's super disappointing. The moves are so barbaric and simply looks boring. It's more like wrestling instead of fighting. Alright, maybe in real life people fights like that, by chaining the opponent's neck(for a longgggg time) to subdue him, or both wrapped up together in a ball for a longgggg time and see who is stronger. BUT this is a movie!! If you're into action films like me, then.....you'll be....so bored. Jackie's old movies of 20years ago is much better.

Next up the plot. The story is about an undercover cop. I nearly feel like strangling the script-writer. So many parts dont make sense; like, if you're an undercover, would you throw a big celebration for your mum and let the whole world knows who is she and you love her? If you're an undercover, will you cohabit with a ROOM of cops for a longggg period of time?? The plot is just in a mess. Hello, can you go watch "The Infernal Affairs(無間道)"? And the dubbing sucks, it's so disturbing to the ears with the inaccurate Chinese spoken. No improvement in Donnie and Andy's acting whatsoever.

Alright. The good part? I think the special car stunts effects coordinator, Bruce Law(羅禮賢), really deserves thumbs up! I say this is the best he had ever put up and quite a break through. Glad that his standards didnt drop at all despite him missing for quite awhile? Oh ya...I think the music effects supervisor did a great job too at choreographing "exciting" and "upbeat" music to otherwise very boring "wrestling". The makeup is pretty good too, the swollen face...blood everything.

Here's a good recommendation for a good action flick, if you're really a hardcore action movie junkie like me. Not much of a plot frankly speaking but the actions, WOah! Nice!

*Edited* Lenovo YOGA 11S(i3) Full Review - 4.5/5stars

An update to the last 1st Impression Review(which is actually only yesterday. Keke!),

*Edited* Lenovo YOGA 11S 1st Impression Review

(Pictures all taken from google-search)

So glad Nick(the sales from Jurong Point Courts) did not lie to me. He told me YOGA 11S(i3) can last 4 to 5 hours on full power mode and 8hours or so on standby. Indeed, full batt lasted 4hours 45minutes with continuous use of surfing and watching of videos with MAX brightness and MAX volume, if you're curious. I'm simply SOLD!! And weirdly enough, I've been using it for 2days and I am very very puzzled why there aren't any fingerprints at all on the screen. The screen looks super clean! It's just super amazing. I asked dearie whether his ACER ASPIRE S7(touch screen) has any fingerprints. He said of course lah(with a tone that implied I'm like an idiot), that's why he'll wipe it every other day. Even our iPAD or handphone is constantly dirty with fingerprints, why not YOGA 11S?? I didn't use a screen protector as I'm afraid it affects it's sensitivity since I'm using it as a tablet too.

All in all, I'm very satisfied with Lenovo YOGA 11S. And will give a 4.5/5 stars and this is merely my personal opinion(and I'm a very very very simple girl).

The only thing I don't like is the keypad doesn't appear/disappear automatically when it should be(when being used as a tablet), and when it does appears on my call, half the screen(lower half) will be blocked; the page wont be shrinked automatically to accommodate the extra keypad. So it's stupid when you cant see what you type sometimes if the space where you're typing falls on the lower bottom of the screen. Of course, naturally if I really do need a lot of typing, whether in emails or blogging, I will use the keyboard instead of the keypad. Other that that, I love BOTH the keypad as well as keyboard; they're super sensitive and easy to type. =D

And it's also a tad slower if you open more than 15tabs on your browser. Opps....shopping queen is like that. =P I will improve. =)

Movie review: About time

Movie review: About time
Ratings: 4/5
Comments: From the creators of Love Actually, it's a very sweet comedy, more touching than realistic, especially when it touches on the subject of time travel. If you've watched "The butterfly effect", then you'll understand what I mean. :) Anyway, there are definitely lessons to be learnt; things like treasuring your families while they are around and live each day as if you can only live it once bla bla bla.

*Edited* Lenovo YOGA 11S 1st Impression Review & ACER ASPIRE S7 Short Review

I'm so in love....no...I'm totally OBSESSED with my Lenovo YOGA 11S right now!!

Granted that my pictures aren't of the best quality as they're snapped in poor lighting with my fone. But anyway, an easy google search will lead you to studio quality pictures. It's very slim with a velvety texture. :) Here are the features and the specs. Bought at S$1099nett with FOC 3years Mcafee antivirus scan, external DVD writer, 2 years warranty and a o-biang black laptop bag. I also bought Microsoft office at S$170nett, all these from a chap call Nick at Courts Jurong Point. Quite a nice chap(not pushy) and you can look for him if you want. Oh But currently it's out of stock at Jurong Point. I paid there and went Lot 1 Courts to collect instead. Please note price at different outlets might be different and you may need to negotiate.

Basically I want a very light weight touch-screen laptop with long-lasting battery life for my work. Although I told Nick my budget is below S$2000, he didn't hard-sell me with other more expensive models but instead told me this model is pretty worth it and of good quality currently at promotional price. I think I asked whether it comes with i5 instead of i3 but he said the difference is not big and i5 exhaust more energy so it will have a shorter battery life. Since battery life is my primary concern too, he said full power should lasts about 4-5hours. Of course it wasn't a fast and direct sale, I did minimal comparison and finally caved in. Initially afraid 11.6inch might be alittle small, but I feel pretty okie when using it.

1st IMPRESSION REVIEW:

This laptop is pretty light. Considering most models usually weigh around 2 kg, this is 1.4kg. Remember how my left shoulder aches so much because of my old laptop model which weighs around 3kg? This one is a life saviour. And because it's much lighter, it's much more comfortable for it to be put on my lap or rather my abdomen(bad habit, don't learn) when I'm using it on bed. But sometimes I put it on a cushion too lah. And because it can be flipped and folded to be used as a tablet(as it's touch-screen too), just like an iPAD, it's like an additional plus point as it's super suitable to be used on the bed; for e.g, while you're lazing, watching youtube videos. You can also flip it in an inverted V shape to make it stand on it's own so that the heat of the lappy dont bother you(or your lap/tummy/bed).

Strangely, I don't like to use the iPAD(hubby's) because I don't like to use the keypad. I much prefer to use the keyboard anytime, especially when I'm blogging. But somehow I actually like this touchscreen keypad of YOGA. I can type so much faster(with both hands). It's just super sensitive too. The movie review entry above this was actually blogged without the keyboard. And it's such a kick punching the keys on the keypad, however, it's not convenient to blog because you can't see what you're typing(except when you're typing the blog title). It just block out the lower half of the screen when the keypad is out. If only there's a preview of the sentence which you're typing. Lol. But for minimal text like in FB comments and typing of website addresses, there should be no problem. Also, the keypad doesn't appear automatically when I need it and doesn't disappear when it should. A shame.

So far, it has been a breeze using this. The keyboard is nice to press and I totally need no adaption to resume my normal typing speed. The touch pad is "smooth" too when I'm doing left/right click or highlight texts etc. I'm super ANAL about these stuff. Granted the HDD is only 128GB but it's SSD, meaning it start-up/shut down very fast. Indeed it does. As it's now so new(only installed Microsoft office), it's expected that the speed is fast. Love the graphics too. Stereo is just normal; just like any other.

I'm not IT guru la...but merely know some minimal facts....so please don't laugh at me if I said anything wrong... I do understand i3 is not the best processor but I'm only willing to fork out minimal budget for a work lappy so I just have to make do! We have another 2 more laptops now for home use. [=.=]''''''''''

This is just the 1st impression review. Perhaps give me few weeks. After my work software is installed, I reckon it will definitely be slower. It's still having it's "virgin" charge right now. So I will only test out it's battery life later. And then I'll update.

So far, LOVING IT!!

Dearie is using ACER ASPIRE S7 for his work(touch screen too) and as much as it looks so sleek and pro, and also slightly lighter, it almost make my blood boil when I tried to use it to blog once. And I never use it again. I had problems identifying the keys at night because of the stupid cyan backlight which is pretty but distracting. While I'm blogging or surfing or anything, the page will somehow run up and down on it's own accord and I always need to scroll back to where I was. Alright or maybe somehow I swiped the touchpad by mistake or something. Whatever. I have problems with it's right click too and just don't mention about highlighting texts. Cough blood! And it's battery life sucks! Only less than 1.5hours when I'm watching videos on full batt. (I'm told YOGA can lasts 4-5hours, we'll see). But hubby still loves it because it's "Oh so sleek and chic".

Told ya guys are superficial animals. :P

But his is the older version. Heard the newer version has a faster processor with longer battery life at maybe 1 or 2 hundred bucks more.

If you're curious, he got his at S$1600 from Jason(who refers his colleague) at Gaincity beside Lot 1 with FOC DVD writer and Microsoft office, which was our best deal after minimal comparison. You can find him if you want other models or electronics and such, he can give a better price or throw in more freebies. He's not at all pushy. Can ask if you want, no harm. =) Quote Fion. I trust that you will not say you're my lesbian girlfriend or ex-boyfriend huh~ =O

Ootd

No joke. All the diarrhoea and vomiting caused me to shed off 2.5kg. I wish I can drop another 3kg though, but not through this way!

OOTD: Floral bralette from F21, denim shorts from bugis street, random denim jacket.

I love the bralette! The back is a lovely mesh lilac! Bought from F21 in Hawaii.

Same pic (#nofilter) as per my facebook but after BeautyPlus app, "sweet" filter.

Movie Review: Out of Inferno

Movie title: Out of Inferno
Ratings: 4/5
Comments: Although not exactly labelled a sequel, we somehow expected it to be something like 十萬火急》(英文Lifeline, if you still can recall it being an awesome thriller flick in 1997 with Sean Lau(刘青云) as a resourceful firefighter. (Initially thought it was the same director but it wasnt) The show is still very engaging, indeed did not disappoint but I actually prefer 'Lifeline" more, just because I feel the flow of the plot is more cohesive and logical. Script is not that well-written. Seriously, from daybreak till night fall, couldnt the ladder crane be drove to where the victims are? And for the final last part......I shant be a spoiler...but I thought it's just not possible for the victims to simply walk out like that after the fire was put out by the water; if it's really that easy, the firemen would have done it easily from the beginning. That being said, the directors did a great job.

8. (ME! ME! 2nd best choice is 7 though. Hee) You are charming and energetic. You are a fun person who knows how to make people laugh. You live in a state of harmony with the universe. You are spontaneous and enthusiastic. You never say no to an adventure. Often, you end up surprising and even shocking people. But that's just how you are. . . You always remain true to yourself. You have many interests and if something proves of interest to you, you will not rest until you acquire a profound knowledge of this area.

9. You are optimistic and lucky. You believe that life is a gift and you try to achieve as much as possible and put this gift to the best use possible. You are very proud of your achievements. You are ready to stick by the people you care about through thick and thin. You have a very healthy approach to life. The glass is (at least) half full for you. You use any opportunity to forgive, learn, and grow because you believe that life is too short to do otherwise.

September 2013 Favorites

Here's my September 2013 favorites. Not many, because I was really busy, and also because some items were a let down. Initially I was harboring hopes that the much raved Mrs Bunny Travel Kit Brushes from Sigma Beauty which I bought from Luxola's birthday sale will be a great favorite. Sadly it isnt. Granted that the brushes are extremely soft on the skin, no shedding whatsoever, however they trapped too much products which makes them inefficient and a total waste of my pigmented eyeshadows/blushes; I have to use so much more product than usual and yet they dont transfer to my lids or cheeks, only to the cotton pad when I am cleaning the brushes. Arrghhh! The foundation brush also streak. The packaging was cute and pretty and the travel kit cylinder holder is great for holding the brushes, but other than that, they're much much smaller than the pictures shown and I dont think they're worth the price. And I'm just glad I purchased them with a 30% off else I will really be kicking myself. =P Will be trying out Real Techniques brushes soon.

O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in
Thanks a WindMillion

This is the most true-to-pic picture I found online; picture credited to twoheartstogether.com. Lovely, elegant green which makes your skin looks fairer and brighter. It was a random colour I chose during a pedicure session and I was so surprised it looked so much better than on the nails colour palette. Will definitely be purchasing it.

Beauty Credit Lovely Face Powder
- Loose power in 21 crystal

This simply works great when worn alone; when I'm just going to nearby and not wearing any foundation/bb-creams. Thus, I just want something fuss-free, and light on my face, offering slight coverage without burdening my face too much. It brightens up my face while still looking very natural and makeup-free. It also lasts a good 5hours or so, which is enough for me if I'm just catching a dinner and movie out of town. You can use a colour-correcting base before it but not recommended for use with bb-creams/foundations as it will look heavier.

VS(Victoria Secrets) Perfect Body Smooth me over - Pink Sea Salt - Exfoliating body polish

Simply love the packaging, sweet and classy all in one. It's a birthday gift from my darling, Gra and I love it as much as I love the girl herself. =) As the name suggests, the salt scrub is really in pink! It certainly needs more water(apart from a wet body) to be blended well for good exfoliation. Apart from that, it works miraculously well on smoothing and brightening the skin as well as keeping it hydrated, which is something lacking in most scrubs. If you have dry skin then try this out; it's less harsh but still able to give you gentle exfoliation without over-drying your skin. The product has fragrance but not really one which lingers after you've washed them off.

ZA - Cleansing Foaming gel

It's supposed to act as a makeup remover too but I merely use it as a normal cleanser. I love the fresh and cooling sensation as well as how clean, supple, smooth and hydrated my skin feels after that. This combo feeling is something which I've never experienced with other cleansers. Shiok! =) I also realized it's less oily at t-zone and pores also got smaller.

Fiberwig Paint On False Lashes - Extra Long

It simply lengthens my lashes to a new record length! Enough said!

SAVH - Most therapeutic and amazing massage I had. =)

Few weeks ago, I was having this really bad ache on my left shoulder and back. Basically, it started from my left neck, shoulder and all the way down my left back, stopping midway. I reckon it was because I carried too heavy stuff on my left shoulder. It was so bad that dearie intended to bring me to sinseh if it continues. However, I was very lucky to have a chance to try out a massage from the Mobile Massage Team. I only did a half hour session on my back and shoulder and miraculously my ache was all gone! And it's only half an hour! I was SO IMPRESSED. I'm super picky with the standard of my massages but I must say this is the most therapeutic and amazing massage I ever had. For normal massage outside, whenever the masseur kneads somewhere which is very painful, I have to point it out to them, "lighter abit". And usually they will use that lighter pressure throughout the whole body, which is totally unnecessary because it's only that particular area which I need them to be softer. Thus, the whole massage usually goes like this...."here softer abit.............here harder abit.........here normal....." Which dearie always laughed at me for being a klutz. What lah.......it's the masseur not pro enough okie!! Do you have such experience before??

Madam Yap did my massage(on the professional massage chair) and the reason why I was so impressed was that I dont need to point it out to her where to use less pressure and where to use more pressure. She can feel which part of my muscles are tight(thus painful for me) and she will automatically apply lighter pressure, repeatedly to soothe the tension. Once she left the "problematic" area, her pressure increased and it resumed to normal. For the whole massage, other than conversing with Madam Yap towards the end, I dont need to instruct her on the level of her pressure; she just knew automatically and applied the suitable amount of pressure. She also sensed I have chest pains(because she felt a knot on my left chest) and taught me a few exercises to do to relieve the tension in my chest area.

It was also extremely economical as compared to the normal massages outside. What makes it special was that the Mobile Massage Team is a crew of qualified, visually-handicapped masseurs from SAVH(Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped). Unless you interact with them, you wont know they're visually handicapped because they dont look like at all. You probably wont believe it but their massage skills are easily more than twice as good as the masseurs outside, which are mostly PRC or Filipino FTs. And no wonder, these aunties and uncles have more than 10years of experience. I have nothing against these FTs coming to Singapore to earn their living but I definitely feel more compelled to engage the services of our own fellow Singaporeans who are visually-handicapped but yet still trying hard to earn a humble living with their own hands, rather than just sitting on the word "Charity". They are a bunch of very humble professionals who are very compassionate. I highly encourage the engagement of their services for any personals or corporate functions; this will be a great way to do charity and to reward your employees.

For personals, you can visit them at SAVH MMT Centre (47, Toa Payoh Rise, Singapore 298104)
Tel: (+65) 6251-4331

Mobile Massage Rates
(For Internal Customers @ the SAVH MMT Centre)

$10.00 for a 20-minute session of either foot reflexology or head & shoulder massage.
$15.00 for a 30-minute session of either foot reflexology or head & shoulder massage.
$40.00 for a 60-minutes session of full body massage.

For corporate events, you can arrange with them for the following options.

Mobile Massage Rates
(For External Customers eg. Corporate Functions, Ad-hoc events and House calls)

Option 1:
$12.00 for a 20-minute session of either foot reflexology or head & shoulder massage.
(Subject to a minimum of 5 sessions per masseur. Failure which the booking agency would be required to compensate the balance)

Option 2:
$55.00 an hour per masseur for a 1hour block booking
$45.00 an hour per masseur for a 2hours block booking
$35.00 an hour per masseur for a 3hours or more block booking

Naturally the more hours you book, the more economical it is! Initially, my team and I actually arranged 2 masseurs for 3hours booking (option 2) but the response was overwhelming so we had to book an additional masseur and extend another 1 hour for all 3 of them.

You cant imagine the glee and happiness from these old folks when we told them we thoroughly enjoy their massages and they were just so thankful and kept thanking us for giving them this opportunity. *Heart melts*

Some special things to note will be:
They will be arriving in cabs, so just kindly send 1 or 2 personnels to guide them to your event venue. Naturally, guide them to the washrooms if they need the toilets and such.

If you will like to have those professional massage chairs(with a hole to rest your head), then do reimburse them for the cab rides and also help to carry those chairs to the event venue.

Despite they're handicapped in some ways and charging more economically than other enterprises, I hope if you're booking them for more than 2hours, then please give them at least 10-15minutes of rest and also some water to drink for that long hours of work. =)

Please help to spread this entry or message to anyone, who might engage their services. Thanks so much! =)

Movie Reviews: Young Detective Dee ; Prisoners

Movie Title: Young Detective Dee
Ratings: 4.5/5
Comments: Exciting from the front till the end. The only thing which upset me is the main male lead; quite a disappointing choice. He looked more like a charming scholar than an intuitive detective. Still, a must-watch for all the actions etc.

Movie title: Prisoners
Ratings: 3/5
Comments: 2.5hours long and it felt like 3 hours. Kinda slow and draggy although plot is not too bad. Director did a poor job, emphasizing on unimportant scenes. All cast did a great job on acting. Quite a shame.
