I have always been a believer of horoscopes. Although I definitely dont agree there's only 12 types of people on earth, I believe horoscopes do give alot of insights about a person, at least to a certain extent. The basic "skeleton" is there, perhaps just in varying degrees. When I just got to know someone or just anyone, I will be very curious with his/her horoscope, a.k.a, Sun sign.

What are Sun Signs?

When the Sun enters a Zodiac Sign it becomes a Sun Sign and is determined by the month and day a person enters this world.

Sun Signs will reveal much regarding our essential personality, particularly our inner self. It reveals the part of our personality that is our basic self, or who we are when we are not surrounded by other people. In other words our essential personality is our most basic, broad, inner traits.

Truth to be told, yes....I'm kinda judgmental...of course I do spend effort to get to know more later la. The process is interesting....when eventually you'll analyze and conclude whether the new friend you make does behave like his/her Sun sign or not. =)

For e.g, the first impression(both good and bad) I get for these signs are....

Aquarius - Loyal and bubbly friends, very fun to be with. Eccentric, smart, creative, their mind works in very different ways. Straight-forward too. But the males are quite MCP. However, they're excellent husbands as they are loyal and takes great care of partners.

Pisces - The males are a dreamy bunch, always looking for a fairytale love. Very well-groomed, romantic and caring. The females are dreamy too, but seldom look like so. Speaks with attitude, most are chilli-padis, not one to be trifled with.

Aries - The males are generous and are good with lies. Both males and females take good care of their friends, but are surprisingly dominant at home. Very straight-forward.

Taurus - Very practical, and some males can be hopelessly pragmatic and miserly. Loves money. Hardworking and faithful. Down-to-earth and not romantic(most of the time).

Gemini - Very sociable flirts, quick mind, good with words, hardly stays in 1 place, hard to handle/control but faithful when they found The One. Be very careful when dealing with single geminis, they're masters of mind-games and heart-breakers!

Cancer - Homely, fiercely loyal but equally revengeful if they're being betrayed. Super-ultra sensitive and can be pretty clingy to partners. Insecure. Alot of emotional ups-and-downs which can be pretty difficult to handle.

Leo - Confident, very high pride, optimistic, fussy, loyal friends and partners but can be exceedingly heartless and cold to people who let them down, in any way. Looks tough on the outside but are sensitive and soft on the inside. Opps....am I describing myself? =P

Virgo - Sensitive, super observant right till your fingernails, smart and intuitive, excellent memory(dont try to lie to them) and this is quite 1 of the hardest horoscope for me to understand. Because they hide everything inside, very scary at times. Perfectionists. Master of deception.

Libra - Charming flirts who love everything pretty, sweet and cute. Thus are easily attracted to nice faces and well-groomed hair. Very vain! Haha. Socialize well if they wish, dislike non-gentlemanly behavior. But basically, they're ok with everyone and everyone loves them.

Scorpio - I feel they are 2 groups of scorpios. One group is exceedingly nice and one group is so not nice. I guess the bottomline is, you either love or hate them. For they move heaven and earth for their partners and good friends but can chillingly tear you apart if you threaten them in any way. Fiercely loyal, sensitive and possessive. Always believe they're right.

Sagittarius - Makes you laugh anytime, anywhere. Optimistic, hardworking, innocently blunt and speaks whatever's on his/her mind. Insensitive to everything, doesnt know how to console you. Mostly extroverts. Have honey lips and mostly flirts. Hates being tied down and terrified of clingy partners. Only loyal to The One or after marriage.

Capricorn - Diligent and mostly excels in their career. Practical and loves power/money. Usually transform themselves into your dream guy/girl during dating but reverts back to their old self after been together. Dependable and stable partners. Not romantic. Extraordinary perseverance.

About Leo, actually every description says pretty much the same stuff...the same boring stuff...like..."The charismatic center of attention, the Leo Sun Sign personality is ambitious, dominant and full of confidence. A born leader, they are most comfortable when they are in charge, and they bring out a strong sense of loyalty in their followers. Strong-willed and independent, they often place themselves in the center ring." bla bla bla.

So I'm not actually going to say more. But what interests me is my Moon Sign. While they say the Sun Sign only reflects certain traits and the impression which you give people, the Moon Sign is the one which reveals your innerself, your emotional side etc. So I'm pretty curious about mine. =P

What are Moon Signs?

Moon Signs help define our emotional development, or express the unconscious side of our personality. It explains why we do what we do. This is where we retreat for comfort, childhood memories, and peace. This can also be the place where anger, hate, jealousy and fear may be found.

Find your Moon Sign

So my Sun Sign is Leo, while my Moon sign is Aries. Maybe that explains my high pride...which can be sooooooo annoying!! I know!! But just cant help it. =(

However, as both Leo and Aries are fire signs(elements), the differences arent huge. I'm still pretty much a "fiery" chillipadi. Just that Leo is a Fixed sign while Aries is a Cardinal sign. You can read more here. Oh yes...horoscopes aint as simple as you think. =)

Aries Moon Sign

Jovita's Hen's Night at Pan Pac, Royal Room

Argh! Rushing to finish this entry as I'm super busy. And if I dont post up this entry "Jovita's Hen's Night at Pan Pac, Royal Room", I probably dont have any time this week and will probably forgot about posting it it, like I always did. =X

Firstly, do you know how freaking tired I was that day? OMG, I had company event and woke up at 8am(it's very early for me already okay). After our lunch banquet ended around 4+pm, we spent 1hour plus to shift like 100+ chairs and my arms were sore like hell. Rushed home, not to have dinner but to sleep for like 2 hours, then I rushed down by cab! I tell you..I can hardly keep my mini eyes open. ZzZzz. Jov!!! It's all for you okie!!! =P

The very first thing I ordered right after I reached Pan Pac, The Royal Room was this!!!

Okie, at that moment, it was the most heavenly food on earth. My dinner at 9+pm.

Yes yes, please do not drink with an empty stomach. =)

Anyway, I'm super disappointed with the pictures which my camera took. I dont know what went wrong with it or the problem lies with me. Those without flash turned out blur(which seldom happen...or did I develop shaky hands?) and those with flash....I simply look like a ghost.

Jov simply looked amazing and ultra sexy in her shocking red figure-hugging bare-back dress!! Her sweet smile simply kills. =) I love how our colours contrast though. =)

I tried to salvage some of the pics which looked ok in the camera but were very blur on my lappy. Only few can be saved. =( Eventually the lights went dimmer as the night carried on....and flash was used. Ce really put alot of effort in organizing the night with games etc. She also prepared a bag of chocolates and pouch for the bride-to-be to earn the fund for the night's drinks!! How??!! Well, Ce accompanied her around the lounge to kinda up-sell the chocolates to guys. I'm not sure of the price, lol, but it's something like, $5 for a piece of chocolate(the chocolates tasted damn good I tell you), $10 if it's fed by the mouth by Jov(LOL) etc etc. We sure have very willing males in the room to buy the sweet favors. =D

After few hours...Ce reckoned it's my turn to accompany Jov to go sell the chocolates but I was damn reluctant to do so. I was simply lounging by the table and sipping my lovely Chardonnay. Haha. I'm so sorry...I'm just so very shy.... Keke =P The lovely pair made good money!! S$220 in total, in contribution to our drinks fund for the night! I'm so proud of them! =D I probably cant even make $50 I guess. =X Still, of course the amount of drinks we had exceeded that amount and we topped up. =)

Actually I took many pictures of the hen's night's props which Ce had prepared. They were super kawaii and cute!! Totally not obscene at all! But they were simply too blur in my camera...cant even see the words. =( I guess what it matters was Jov appreciated it and we had a great night.......well......until some people came to spoil my night. Anyway.....I'm glad the bride-to-be had fun!! Jov was very high but yet not disgustingly drunk. It was just of the right degree of madness. Lol. And I have so much to thank Alv and Ser for sending us back that night. I was pretty tipsy. Alright...do enjoy the pictures(click for larger view)... Looking forward to attend the sexy's babe wedding at One Marina this coming weekend. =D

BKK 2012 and Vday 2012!

OMG...faint ah...I realized I got draft posts on CNY which I've forgotten to complete. =P Simply too busy. It's kinda redundant to post it now huh, since I've mostly forgot what I did during CNY other than having fun everywhere with everyone. =)

And frankly speaking, I've been forgetting to bring my camera out for quite some time because the lazy me is starting to find it heavy. =P BUT I really meant to carry it out for Vday....alas....I forgot. And both our handphone cameras suck. =(

Usually dearie will arrange hotel stay for Vday but not this year because I only touched down Sg on 13th Feb. I had an AWESOME 6 days Bangkok trip with my 2 dearest colleagues, Lyn and Angie, together with their partners. Initially I dont wish to join because I'm like an extra large size lightbulb. Muahahaha. But the girls simply urged me to go, saying we 3 girls can share a room ourselves. Despite dearie said he can accompany me go, I told him not to since he's not a shopping person. And our shopping itiniery, planned by Miss Lee was super scary. Basically it's eat and shop, eat and shop nonnnnnn-stop! However, I'm so very glad I did join, for I had loads of fun with them and kudos to girls who arent clingy to their SO(significant-other)! Every night after our fabulous shopping and wonderful dinners/suppers, other than our "fashion show"(parading around in the hotel room with our new buys, lol), we had pillow talks too. Simply laughed like hell. I love pillow talks. Kekeke!

It's a pity that I had AV on the 2nd day of the trip and cramps haunted me. Thus I had to keep popping pills which made me drowsy. And I got tired super easily and had to rest now and then, even more frequent than usual. I'm so thankful to my girlies and Lyn's partner, Da too. They're really so nice so nice, so accommodating and really took great care of me. My sore arm came back because my purchases were too heavy, lol. And the girls simply shared my loads and carry for me!

Actually I insisted to carry by myself, I hate being a burden you know. But they waited for me(to take care of my purchases) while I visited the toilet, after I'm back, my purchases were all gone! As I stared blindly on the empty floor, where my stuff were all gone, I then realized they had stuffed my purchases into their huge shopping bag and continued shopping as if nothing had happened. And they also have their own purchases to carry too lor. Yes and they refused to return me!! Even Da volunteered, erm no, snatched my purchases to help me to carry when we met(we girls and guys shopped separately and eventually meet up). And guess what, Lyn wasnt even the slightest annoyed and even tell me to guai guai let Da carry my shopping bags. I'm so incredibly terrified with girl-friends who get jealous easily over such stuff. So I'm really so blessed! =~)

Oh ya and actually I had lesser shopping time than the girls because the stupid medicine made me so drowsy. I had to rest(and sometimes dozed off. Arggh) now and then so I took care of their shopping sitting down while they shopped. So they dont need to carry so heavy stuff and can shop in peace. =) Nevertheless, I still manage to buy back a mountain of clothes, bags, accessories etc because I'm extremely competent and efficient in shopping. Muahahahahaha! =P

We didnt take much pictures because time was too pressed for shopping! And mostly because we didnt have on makeup. =P I looked super cui. =X

Looking forward to BKK 2013!! Lol!

Valentines Day 2012

I touched down Sg on 13th and surprisingly I wasnt really tired. Dearie came to fetch me. We went to eat at clementi and then we went KTV at partyworld nearby. Hee! Yaaaaa, it's this "special day" where I will allow dearie to accompany me to KTV because he dont really like KTV. But VDAY MAH, once a year, accompany me KTV bu guo fen right... =P Anyway no shows to watch that night too, we lazy to go town anyway.

On the actual Vday, dearie bought me to a nice dinner at St. Regis, Brasserie Les Saveurs, a french restaurant, for dearie knows I love french food. It was a real opulent and romantic place. Simply every corner of St. Regis has been decorated with timeless, classy, vintage touches. It's really really a pity that I forgotten to bring my camera!! Here's simply 1 picture which is reasonably clear.

No more pictures of the food because the lighting was dim and pictures all turned out grainy... Most of them were in dearie's hp too.

As for the verdict of the food...well, there were forgettable. The amuse-bouche was supposed to be oyster but dearie had reflected we dont take oysters and requested that they change to something else. We were pretty disappointed that it was replaced by a small bowl of soup instead. What soup was it? Goodness I had totally forgotten about it. It was that forgettable. And...it kinda displeased me that a seafood amuse-bouche should be replaced with a soup without any meat. As much as it's complimentary, I thought St. Regis should be more gracious about it. Hello~~ At least give me a prawn or something. =P

The starter was raw prawn carpaccio and...as much as it was not bad..I did not enjoy it very much. Hmm...the raw taste made me felt uncomfortable but I dont think it's because it wasnt fresh. Perhaps I was just not very receptive to the taste. There was a fish dish and particular unique type of fish at that...but I dont remember much other that it was bland. Ahhh...there was my favourite foie gras and it was a pretty generous piece. But it simply tasted like foie gras, good as always but nothing spectacular in the way they've prepared the dish. The main was Wagyu beef. It's the first time I had wagyu beef and seriously I dont like it. It shouldnt be this tough, a disappointment. The dessert was simply too sweet and just 1 mouthful was enough to deter me from finishing it...I seriously DONT REMEMBER what was the dessert...so please dont ask me. The petite fours....sigh...sweet sweet sweet. Dont wish to get diabetes so we both didnt finish it.

Service wise, nothing out of the extraordinary. Kinda expected from a 5* hotel. Oh something sweet was the crew actually took a picture of every couple in the restaurant and developed it to present to the couple in a handwritten card at the end of the meal. Love the live music performance. Bill amounts to around S$350 maybe, dont remember exactly.

Thanks honey for the sweet Vday dinner and the lovely pink roses. You know I really appreciate all this. =D Love ya loads.

Wow!! If you're still visiting this dormant blog of mine then I sincerely thank you for your patience and wish to apologize for my long absence. Sheesh!!

I dont know...simply lost the urge to blog. Not that events haven been fulfilling, but rather, I'm too busy enjoying my life and events were simply too fast-paced for me to blog on time. And when they're lagged, I kinda lost the interest to blog about them.

Still! I think I ought to give a brief summary of what I wished to say and recollect.

My friend commented that it was very well-said! Haha! I realized I can express myself much better in chinese!! Lol. But well, I seldom say such emotional and mushy stuff to people, much less in Chinese! It's difficult enough being in English. =P Anyway, I really appreciate all the people who had helped me in 1 way or another in 2011. Actually I wouldnt say the whole of 2011 had been smooth-sailing but I have always feel blessed for a bunch of friends who are always there for me when I needed them. You know who you are. I think I dont need to specify who. I may not really express my gratitude in words because I'm just not good at expressing myself with my very thin face-skin and very annoying sky-high pride. But I do believe....you all feel me. =D And that I will also always be there when you all need me in any way. =)

Anyway, a brief recep of some events;

30th Nov - 7th Dec Taiwan trip + Dearie's birthday

The trip was okie though not fantastic because simply too much time were wasted on the coach. Yes, we're on a tour package. Plus the fact that it was my 3rd time visiting Taiwan, many stuff were repeated loh. All the hotels were pretty shiok though!! That's like the most important thing which dearie cared. =.=''''' Thank god I did managed to get a piece of cake for dearie's birthday. =D No whole cake available. We still pretty enjoy...I mean, I did enjoy...keke...the shopping at Taiwan Xi Meng Ding and Wu Fen Pu though there was actually nothing much to buy lah because it was Winter. And Winter ge pi lah...we were told to bring sweaters and such but it was soooo...not cold that I strutted out in my sleeveless top and shorts out for shopping on the last day. All eyes on me as if I'm a monster...kinda expected. Really warm what...I'm just super terrified of warm weather. Still, I managed to haul back some shorts, jeans, some tops, a trench-coat, few bags etc. Still pretty happy!! Hee! Meals wise, actually most of them were provided but they're not nice. =( Probably the main reason why we're grouchy during the trip. Food is so so so important to us! So CTC travel??!!! You suck!!!!

As for Christmas....actually during the last 1 or 2 weeks of Dec, I've been going out really frequently but I really dont remember much already. Xmas eve was spent at our colleague's place; a fun and laughter-filled night with a mountain of food fit for an emperor, sweet Xmas pressies exchange and really hilarious X-box dance PK! It's my 1st time playing and I thought it was very fun! Haha. And OMG...I ate so much that night. =.=''''''

Xmas day, we had a superrrrrr sumptuous and yummilicious dinner cod fish steamboat with dearie's parents!! It was located near teck whye, 莆田 codfish house, and more accessible by car. We had other dishes too like sambal kangkong, prawn omelette, Pai Gu Wang, chilli la-la plus a free chilli crab. It was so so so yummy that I craved for it the very next day. And people who know me knows I simply cant have the same food for continuous 2 days! After the dinner, I went St James with Yul and Jy. Around 1+am then we went Rachada(or whatever that is called) to join Yul's friends. It was like the former sparks and can you imagine?? They were playing some techno songs which I haven heard forever. Those songs really brought back all the memories when I was a teen. Hahaha so funny. Oh boy...that was like 10+ years back. =X Anyway, a great night. =)

New year's eve 31/12/2011 was spent at dearie's buddy's residence at Duxton where we ate pastamania, play Xbox, daidee and card games like Ugly doll and Miners. Very fun and we left at 1am to join some colleagues for mahjiong at CCK. Dearie didnt play and left early whereas I was almost dead when the game finally ended. Win or lost? I think I won some..but seriously dont remember, it was soooo tiring!

13th Jan 2012 Penang Goalsetting.

The first 3 days and nights were really fun and enjoyable. We had sightseeing, bought tons of Penang goodies, ate tons of calorie-filled YUMMY food, very fun and hilarious team-bonding games. For our team-bonding games, we're Peter Pan and Tinkerbell!! So we 3 girls(Oli and Kari) were Tinkerbell, wore green dresses and put on wings. It was so fun! Kekeke. We, together with Edw were alongside the our very handsome Peter Pan, Matt VS macho Captain hook, Des, together with his 2 kah gia, Marc and Gor. We got the 2nd runner-up in the games!! =)

The next day, we listened to a great seminar which was so touching and inspiring that got the whole agency crying......it's truly like the first and only time when I saw dearie cried so hard... I was in tears too but freaked out when I saw his face because I thought WTF happened. Turned out that he was so emotional because he thought of how he neglected me and wasnt a good hubby and stuff like that. So ended up I had to clear my tears and comfort him instead. Zzzz. Haha...anyway, I really appreciate the work the management had done. The speaker was amazing and I'm so glad our director managed to get him to speak to us. =) Not only many of us cried to our spouses, thanking them, we girlies also hugged each other for all the support and encouragement. It was such a poignant and touching moment. =~D

It was supposed to be 5days4nights and ends on 17th Jan. Sadly, I had to take an urgent flight back to Sg on the 3rd night because mummy was hospitalized. Actually she was hospitalized right on the 1st day when I reached Penang. Though worried sick, Xiang told me to stay in Penang as he will take care of mummy. So we did keep in touch by overseas calls and such. Thankfully she felt better and was discharged the next day. However, on the 3rd day...she was hospitalized again.. This time round..I really cant soothe my heart by standing on the sidelines and merely hearing the vague and uninformative account which Xiang told me. He, like dearie, simply sucks at taking care of situations and people... The spookiest thing was, I actually dreamt that mummy was hospitalized, lying on a white bed in turmoil just few days before I flew Penang.

I was fully prepared to treat it as a nonsensical dream and dare not mention it to anyone as we're all a superstitious bunch....but yet...it really happened. I couldnt handle the worry and stress, I just have to fly back. Dearie wanted to accompany me back but I told him I can handle it and asked him to stay for the goalset because there're tons of important work stuff that we should note. Still.....sigh...it was really a tiring and tedious journey back.

Roy managed to speak to some people with internal connections at AirAsia and managed to secure a last minute flight late at 10+pm. I took an arranged cab from the hotel and rushed to the AirAsia sales tix office, only to be informed that it's closed. The LCD simply showed the plane was on "boarding" mode, I was so frantic! The staff hence asked me to go to the checkout counter instead where they might have tix. I just cant find the person-in-charge which Roy told me! I ran all the way with my luggage to the checkout counter again, again to be informed they dont sell tix there. And the staff brought me all the way back to the sales counter and finally managed to got me a ticket at S$150. By then I was so exhausted...it was not a short distance to and fro. =( I then ran...yes...ran..all the way to the check-in gate because the plane was taking off. Had absolutely no time to check in my luggage and had to carry my 10kg luggage down the stupid long flight of stairs at the check in gate and then AGAIN UP the long flight of stairs to board the plane.

Did I even mention that I slipped in my house toilet few days ago and suffered a sore left arm, hand and wrist? Sigh.................with the luggage.......it simply got worse. =( And........because I rushed for the flight...I didnt have any dinner since my lunch.... Managed to gobble some food on the plane. Upon touching down, rushed to SGH on a cab.

Thank god...Mummy was not as serious as I thought. If only Xiang can..handle the situation then I wouldnt have to fly back. Sigh....He's 23...but he's just as clueless as a 13. I know he's filial and wished the best for mummy. Just that he's...just not someone who knows how to take care of people. Like dearie.....haiz... I was pretty sick too as my sorethroat worsened.

I settled everything, consulted the doc, checked the medicine etc.......and really, govt hospitals suck. He's like so damn blur and everything I need to ask, to check and double confirm. Requested for MC for mummy too else her stupid company will force her to go work. She dont have pay even when she has MC. Mummy was super weak...we cabbed home and I made sure she ate some porridge and the necessary medicine before I walked home. All this while, I had no time to answer dearie's call but I did reply his messages when we're in the cab. I said she's okie and he dont have to worry. He then replied that it's good...he's tired and he's going to sleep already... Actually I will really appreciate if he can give me a call to ask me whether I'm okie....but even that seemed like a wishful thinking.... By the time I reached home, bathed and everything...it was around 2am... I know he's tired too with the goalset....but I'm no better, physically, mentally and emotionally. I was very sick...with sorethroat...flu...and fever...and after some panadols...I concussed on bed at around 2am...

Once again...he wasnt there when I need him. Though with reason(goalset is impt, and he's overseas)....but seriously...I'm only expecting a phonecall. So I dont think I'm being unreasonable. Sometimes, alot of things I dont wish to say. We have lots of common friends who love to comment on how I should treasure him because like all people, they love to assume and conclude simply based on how things look on the surface. I also dont wish to say much. And precisely because I dont say much, and because how people love to compliment dearie is a good hubby, he cried so hard during the touching seminar talk because he felt he totally dont deserve those compliments. Sigh...I have...grown to be accustomed to it...to people who nagged me to be nicer to him and to treasure him as if like I'm so not worth it.

I have always treasure him, much more than myself. Am still patiently waiting for him to improve, which he promised he will......he promised me that there wouldnt be a 3rd time that he wont be there for me again when I most needed him. We'll see then. =) I know he loves me. I guess it's just not his personality to really care alot and have alot of compassion about people because he has always lead a smooth-sailing life. Not like me. So I'm able to handle...lots of situations. I told him...although I can handle it...even when it's hard on me...I will try to handle it without worrying him because I hate to burden him with my stuff or my family stuff. BUT STILL, he can always offer to help.......help abit....or at the very minimum...give some care and concern while I'm working on it. I still do need care, encouragement and support, no matter how strong I am!

Mummy got much much better on the very next day after her discharge, and actually I thought I was sicker than her. Haha. But we're both well now, thank you very much. =)

Okie, off to Mummy's house to eat already. I'll continue my entry when I'm free. =)

Why a leo woman has to be dominating to a Saggi man in a marriage

It has been a long time since I blogged. And usually the only 2 scenarios which will break this blog constipation are; 1) Some significant events, for example a close friend's wedding or baby shower etc, or more often the second scenario, 2) Somebody bloody pissed me off again.

I do have to admit I'm terribly grouchy of late because I was sick and practically lao-sai-ing everyday EVEN when I avoid spicy food at all costs. I'm really restless and dont feel like doing anything so I tried my best to keep the house as clean as possible because I dont have energy to do more strenuous housework. And obviously my hubby dont help unless I scream at him. And I seldom scream at him, despite I look like a shrew. Even Vickki's hygience, I booked basic grooming to keep her clean instead of tiring myself to bathe her.

Vickki's skin problem is back again and I'm totally distressed about it. I dont know how it happens! And the anti-fungal cream which we depended our lives on are out of stock. I've tried other creams but they simply dont work. I can only watch helplessly as her condition worsens and reverts back to her old self. I have absolutely NO CHOICE but to keep her in the kitchen so that her serious flaking conditions wont dirty the whole house. I told hubby that. He acknowledged that but still insists to let her out from the kitchen into the living room, just to play with her for awhile, just now. I said, he can do that in the kitchen because I just swept the kitchen, it's clean. And I dont wish Vic to dirty the living room. Because we walked barefoot around the whole house except the kitchen in bedroom slippers. But he insisted it's only a while. And all the more I dont understand. If it's only a while, why cant he do it in the kitchen??

With this, he threw me an attitude and said forget it and went back to his room. Like, I dont understand wtf. I have always been tolerant of his nua and super dirty nature although he always looked like he's very clean, thanks to his super fair and nice skin. So please dont judge a book by it's cover. I'm growing excessively impatient ESPECIALLY when I'm sick as I cant afford to be nice to "clean his shit". New friends, candid ones, always ask me curiously whether I'm dominating as all Leos are. At first instinct, I said I'm not. I always go with my friends' choices and seldom likes to decide. I prefer to follow; ok well, I'm lazy. But with some friends, who are even lazier than me(haha), then I'll tend to be the decision maker because nobody has ideas to contribute. And someone(me), just have to take the lead. I merely wish all will be happy with things I planned.

But when it comes to family, I have to admit I'm dominating towards my hubby, in household matters only. WHY? Because I have no choice! Like for example, I've told him umpteen times that it's okie if he wanna have sweet drinks inside the room but please clear them(put in kitchen sink and I'll wash) as soon as he finished so that ants wont be attracted. And he turned a deaf ear. And ants started visiting my beloved bed room. No matter how frequent I clear them from then on, they still come. Even if it's plain water! It's just plain irritating and disgusting and I scolded hubby upside-down for that.

You know if we have a maid OR if he's the one clearing those shit, it's totally FINE with me. But clearly that's not the case! And I said, if he bloody well CANT solve the problem which he CREATES, then F****** dont START it!! It took MONTHS with absolutely NO DRINKS in the room to deter the ants from visiting our bedroom. Thank god.

And sometimes when I asked him to clear the rubbish, he loves to postpone it. I get it when sometimes he has important things at hand to do or simply, whatever, that he prefers to do it later, fine. But then, the deed is never done!! The rubbish simply stays till the next day where it attracts ants/cockroaches/lizards etc. And trust me, when these pests START to come.....they'll come everyday...reproduce....and start their little homes. Arrghhhh~ Again, I scolded him upside down for it and from then on, I always insist he threw the rubbish IMMEDIATELY or if I can remember, before the night ends. I'm dominating? Oh yes, no choice because I cant take his word for it. I bought tons of ants' poison and lizard trappers coupled with consistent, immediate rubbish removal for months and thank god, those pests left our kitchen. It's alot of work!

Sometimes I also wish to be less dominating and not insists he does things exactly, according to what I say. Just like, I said, "Dear, when you're free and not very tired, can you wipe the window panes?" Airing the clothes, wiping window panes are clearly his jobs because he's tall and can do them easily. And time after time, it's always, "Okie, weekend I'll do it. Christmas, I'll do it. Before Chinese New Year, I'll do it."

Now, it has been F****** 2 YEARS since we shifted in and he still haven do it!

Still, I haven insist strongly on them, YET, because dirty window panes, although irks me, doesnt cause any horrible consequences, e.g, attracting pests etc.

A Saggi male simply needs a dominating Leo woman because he cant take care of himself nor people around them. If I'm the nice, docile doormat, I would have died of exhaustion or turned a lovely home into a pig sty. They're extremely insensitive and oblivious to what happens in their surroundings. In short, SBC - SIMPLY BO CHUP.

I'm so tired. I dont think I expect a lot from him. I merely wished he give me less trouble when I'm sick. But not only he doesnt help, he gave me more trouble. Is this plain laziness? Dont think so. It's immature, selfish, inconsiderate.

I hope everyone had a lovely long weekend!! And Happy Hari Raya Haji to all our muslim comrades!! =)

On the PH eve, after meeting a client to sign some documents, dearie and me went to Ir's house to celebrate baby Vera's 1st month shower!!

Arrgghhhh! Dont know why the pic came out so small when I already chose "large" in blogger. Duhz!

Vera is a giant baby weighing 3.5kg!! No doubt she will be a willowy, sweet lady in years to come since both parents are so tall!! =) As usual and expected, all our colleagues began asking us when is our turn! *faint* Nononono, not so soon okie~~ =P Frankly speaking, I dont even find myself with sufficient time of my own, nor enough time with dearie and Vickki, not to mention for another baby! Maybe 1 day I'll wake up from the other side of the bed with blooming maternal love and decide that I wish to have a baby to love. For now, IF I do get pregnant, I definitely wont be ecstatic. =P But of course, the word "abortion" is never in my dictionary. So do not worry. =)

After that, we went Lot 1 for some shopping and I was elated with the sales at BHG. Not so much for me, but rather for dearie. His undergarments are extremely good buys!! In fact, we went back the next day to purchase more because the quality were really outstanding. Haha. =P After that, I went to meet Se, Jac and Ken for mahjiong at Ken's new place at Upper Bt Timah. Lucky win of $170. =)

The PH itself was spent with my lovely mummy and my 2nd younger brother, Wei at Causeway Point. Xiang is enjoying his holidays in U.S with Phil and his family! It was very crowded and since we were famished, we simply went in Hot Tomato which had little queue. The signboard and pictures at the entrance of the cafe looked very attractive. It wasnt until when we opened the menu then we realized the prices are super friendly. I hesitated whether should we change venue as I wish to give Mummy a nicer lunch because I worry about the standard of food upon looking at the prices. But we were all very hungry plus it was crowded everywhere so we gave it a try.

Mummy and Wei ordered Norwegian Salmon with mango salsa(1st pic), dearie ordered Lobster pasta(3rd left) while I had Steak and Prawn(2nd pic). We also ordered mushroom soup and mashed potatoe.

I dont specifically remember all the prices but I remembered my Steak & Prawn at $15.90 is already the most expensive among the dishes we ordered. So the others are around $13 or such. It calls to mind a comparison with Aston's whose prices are around the same range. I was extremely pleased with my steak which came perfectly cooked at medium. Juicy and tender, soOoo tender that I cant believe I merely paid $16 for it! Medium steak usually dont come as tender and I know usually people think medium rare is the best doneness for a steak. But since I cant stand the bloodiness, I have to settle for medium. And Hot Tomatoe's medium steak really blew me away. It won Aston's steak hands down. It's a pretty big slab too. The small portion of aglio olio pasta which came with it was so-so. For the 2 prawns, 1 was fresh and 1 clearly wasnt. Both were well-seasoned but overcooked.

The other dishes were not raved but I did not hear them complain much. Oh Dearie did complain that his pasta was slightly overcooked and the "lobster" were pathetic. 4 tiny pieces. More like crayfish instead. The mushroom soup was abit diluted, thus the consistency, the flavour were not satisfactory. The mashed potatoe on the other hand was very smooth and I love it. The accompanying sauces for the mashed and my steak were definitely stingy. Good thing was they didnt charge for the extras we requested. If their standard of steak can be consistent, you can be sure I can eat them every alternate day.

After shopping around CWP for a few hours, we went for desserts!! =D Initially Mummy wanted Swensen but it was having long queue. So we settled at Geláre.

Omg!! Seriously they were so yummy! We all love our choices. I ordered 2 scoops, 1 mango and the other strawberry. I love the consistency of the ice-cream because they were a little chewy and not overly milky and creamy like most ice-creams. It's just my preference; I love ice-creams which are not overly sweet, a little chewy and sorbet kind of texture. That's why I also love Turkish ice-cream. =) There's really nothing much to complain about them, they were served cold and not runny. The "basket" was crunchy, great taste and went extremely well with the ice-cream. Will definitely visit again!

3rd wedding anniversary presents

Guessed which is/are hubby's anniversary present and which is/are mine? =)

=D I always love Burberry bags admist the many brands. And I happily saw their classic Nova check series with a seasonal Christmas green trimming. Love it! However, it only comes in the jumbo tote size which is wayyyyyy too big for me. So sad. =(

Eventually, I settled on a Prada wallet which I love too! =)

Prada Saffiano Fiocco Bow wallet in Hot Pink

Actually I prefer to buy a bag than a wallet because my good-old-trusty LV damier canvas long wallet has been serving me well for years. I'm so proud of her! Looking great and so durable. Really love her to bits and I'm kinda so sorry for stuffing her full of cards. Sometimes I tried bringing lesser cards but damn, everytime when you missed carrying a particular bank's card, then that will be the card which offers discounts on your purchases/food. So, long wallet is the best. Perhaps...I let my LV wallet take a rest....a vacation... =P

I do not wish to buy anything on impulse so I did not buy it at first glance. However, nothing else caught my eye. Since I have never owned any Prada products so I went online and google about Prada Saffiano leather wallets whether they are durable, although they looked so. I'm so unromantically pragmatic. Good news! They are durable, though many commented of course LV will be more durable. But still, pretty good enough. So I went ahead to buy the next day. I have to say although it looks like the number of card slots etc are same as the LV wallet which I have, the sizing runs small and it's not encouraged to fill up ALL card slots. In fact, all cards have to be squeezeeeed in. Every card slot was like a 2mm too short. I had to sacrifice some amulets etc because the wallet really cant contain as much stuff.

I really have to share my shopping experience at Ion Prada Boutique. Sometimes I really dont understand why the snobbish and f-uped attitude with CS at these boutiques. See their change of face at the mere entrance of tourists simply makes me wanna puke. Anyway, when I tried the zipper, it was really horrible. I had to hold on to the wallet tightly and pull with might to either close/open it fully. And I told the male CS with the irritating slang that.

"Oh ALL Prada products' zippers are like that." With the world's fakest smile.

My brows were knitted together because while I thought that inferior feature was embarrassing, the guy seemed to think of it as a signature trademark or something. *Rollz eyes* And do I detect a hint of "You dont know Prada products are like that one mehhhh~" Maybe I'm too sensitive ya, and I almost want to answer, "Oh is it? I didnt know that because I always buy LV and LV zippers are awesome!"

But I got culture k~ So I merely kept silent and tried zipping and unzipping numerous times, trying to see if it helps. Apparently, it doesnt lah! And the guy said, "I can wax the zip for you if you want, it will make it smoother." I said, "Sure thank you". And he asked for payment so I gave him my card. Hubby's sub card for me to be exact. He came back few minutes later with the wallet packed and the bill. After I've signed it, I requested to see the wallet to check on the zipper. Obviously he's not happy because he had packed it. When I tried the zipper, I didnt feel any difference. Since the wallet costs $800, I cant get past the rough and poor quality zipper. So I asked him to bring me another piece.

2nd piece - zipper is wonderful, so smooth and I said that out loud. He had the cheek to say it felt the same to him with a lazy drawl. Had to curb myself from saying, "You're obviously senile". To my dismay, I noticed a pretty big defect in the leather and I cant choose that. I dont even understand how can that wallet went pass QC?

Anyway, asked him to bring me a few more new ones to try and his face grew blacker and blacker. HAHAHA! To be frank, I was kinda enjoying it. *Sniggers* And eventually I settled on one with no defects, however, the zip is neither the best nor the worst. Abit irritated actually but I tried to console myself I seldom use the coin slots anyway. I still love the wallet. Thanks honey!!

After I got my stuff, I went to browse for dearie's anniversary presents. His Gucci coated canvas wallet and key pouch in black which I bought him during our honeymoon was still looking great, as good as new! Very durable. I merely wish to share which brand/product/series is durable because I think spending a generous amount on something which can only lasts you a year or two is frivolous. Unless you're damn rich that is. Do avoid LV monogram series(fair leather parts oxidized easily into ugly brown) and Gucci canvas series(stitches torn and leather stained easily). A total waste of money. Unless you dont mind the trouble of selling them.

Burberry's perfume, BODY

It's not easy to buy anything for hubby because he dont like anything which screams the brand name outright-ly; he feels it's loud. However, it also seems dumb if the brand cannot be seen at all ya. So, I hope he likes the tie. The brand name is not very obvious, subtle. =) He loves Burberry's Body scent ever since I let him sniff a sample from Her World Magazine. =) Yes we know it's a women's scent but he always like women's scent so he sometimes use mine too. He also snatched my Ferragamo's Incanto(original) before, which is my preferred scent. Sadly, they've discontinued it so only some shops with leftover stocks are carrying it. I do feel Incanto's Shine...Dream series are all pretty nice but they're like too "sweet" and "young" for me, qualities which I dont really possess. Hahaha.

By the way, out of the 3 items from 3 different boutiques, Burberry's perfume is the cheapest but they have the best service. The nice lady even asked if it's a present and when I said yes, she gave me a card to write wishes. So sweet. =)

LV's services were inconsistent. A lady was downright rude("Sorry I'm busy" and stalked off) while another guy who later attended to me was pretty nice.

Very frankly speaking....many a time...I felt very disappointed with Singaporeans' manners and their inconsideration. It's not only where customer service is concerned. I mean, fine, perhaps you feel your pay dont match your effort and you give a black face. Still, it's not being nice especially when people are nice and polite to you.

Went bugis days ago with dearie for Ah Chew Desserts. Yummy and cheap desserts are such a wonderful idea to end a sweet night. And because business was good, it was pretty crowded. We were trying to get a table. And finally some people stood up from their table and turned to leave. However, seeing a guy standing beside the table for quite some time but yet didnt immediately sit when it's finally free, out of courtesy, dearie asked him whether he wants the table as he's there first.

We are being polite as we didnt immediately plopped our asses down. But that guy gave a super annoyed, disgusted look, rolled his eyes and added a brief shake of his head. Dearie and I simply dont understand why such attitude when we asked him nicely. Ask them leh, then they yaya and heck care. Dont ask leh, then they come and quarrel that you stole their seats. It's just sad. Is it because such people have bitter lowlifes, hence they cant bring themselves to give a positive response to people who are polite to them? I understand that some people or rather majority of the people are not having a beautiful life, hence they're negative, they're inconsiderate, they're greedy, they're selfish, they're kiasu, they're rude. But sometimes, it's tiring trying to find excuses to pardon them. If they always remained this negative, this grouchy and giving the attitude that the whole world owes them money, seriously I dont think they can go far too. Would the god help such people? Hmm...................

Today we went shopping and I was trying on this lovely pair of metallic studded heels at Charles & Keith, walking a few steps to see whether it hurts. And there was this friendly and nice Caucasian lady who openly complimented, "You look great in this. Buy it!" I smiled a friendly greeting and said, "It looks great! But it's too painful to wear! You can try it!" I encouraged. She gave a oh-my-god-these-high-heels-will-kill-me look to dearie and said, "Guys should try wearing them then they'll know!" And both of us laughed heartily. People like them really makes my day. =) Really wish more Singaporeans can be more positive. Dont need to be friendly, as yet. For a start, be at least more positive, polite and responsive. That will really be great....

Our 3rd wedding anniversary!!!

3 splendid years of marriage has passed!! As fast as a blink of eye!! Counting fingers, I have spent half a decade with dearie and it's simply amazing that, while it felt like we've known each other forever, at the same time, we felt like we've been married not too long ago! We both shocked ourselves along the times of, "WAH! We together 5 years liao ah?!?!" And I was like, "Wow, I actually can tahan you so long!!" And he's like, "Same here same here." Lol.

Actually when I'm younger, I've never expect I will get married. Because I have no faith in men, in marriage. I do believe love exists, merely not forever. I believe in loving and living in the moment. Not to mention, my parents' broken marriage didnt give me any optimism. I'm not very sure did the above mentioned prevented me from giving my 100% of love to all my ex-boyfriends OR simply just because I didnt meet The One, one whom I love so much, love enough to change my thinking.

But he simply changed me. Suddenly 1 day, I thought...hey I wanna get married. I want to have status, I want to belong to him officially and him to belong to me officially. Muahahahaha! Of course I couldnt possibly propose to him, so I merely wait loh, albeit with much annoyance. I supposed he finally did what a man should do after obvious hints and extreme duress. Muahahahaha. Heng I didnt wait for long...I'm not a very patient lady okieee~ He proposed after our 1.5years of relationship(I have to emphasize he's under duress) and we're still as sweet as we just got together. =) So I guessed it's not a bad thing(to get married early)!!

Anyway, it's quite funny when I was looking at the Nov calender(with stress) on Halloween(31st Oct), I was checking my schedules for all my sales appointments, compulsory courses to clear CPD hours, happy occasions to attend as well as the very much anticipated 7days Taiwan trip on 30th Nov, when I suddenly realizeddddd.......2nd Nov, which is in 2 days time....is our Wedding Anniversary!! We both kinda forgot about it and then started to ask each other stupidly, "It's 2nd or 3rd year anniversary huh??" =O Hahaha! Anyway, I was busy with my own stuff so I told dearie to simply plan a nice dinner. He did, and also booked couple massage at Spa Elements where we have a package, prior to the dinner. I have to say, so far, for more than a year I supposed, massages have been satisfying at Spa Elements. So we might consider to sign up more when it's finished.

FYI, Spa Elements' packages come in credits. For example you purchase 50 credits for, say, $1000 and for e.g, a massage will cost 1.2 credits and a classic manicure 0.7 credits etc. Their manicures are pretty good too. Spa Elements have other services such as ear-candling(which dearie tried and said it was shiok), slimming tummy(I tried, not much difference but also pretty shiok), jacuzzi, facials etc. I have to warn you though they do employ PRC. But so far, the ones who massaged me and did my manicure are all competent so it's no issue. However, I think you can request for non-prc. They have Filipinos who are great in massages too. Any drop in service standards, before package signed and after? Of course there are, who are you kidding. But the difference is not very drastic, still acceptable.

The moment I got into the car(to be on the way to the massage), dearie asked me to "wait ah" then he went to the boot. I'm already expecting flowers, but still, ridiculously happy when he presented me with a bouquet. Ya!! I'm so "girl"!! I cant help it!! =P Thanks darling. Flowers, so old-fashioned, but always work!

The top right hand corner picture is a letter which he wrote me. He always like to write me letters or cards on occasions. Bottom right corner was a folded card with a red ribbon. I wondered what is it............and it was...............

I was appalled and said, "ARE YOU SURE???!!!!"

His reply was soOoo funny. "Haha Siao!! If I really tear, I sure DIE!!"

Muhahahaha!! So smart. =)

Then he said, "Actually while I was printing this, my hands were trembling."

Muahahahaha!

"That's why I planned the massage late at 5+pm and dinner at 7+pm so that you dont have time to shop."

My face fell. =(

Hubby laughed heartily and said, "Nevermind lah!! Not enough time today can other day buy also lah!!"

We actually visited a few boutiques for a short while but time was simply too pressed(arggghhh!) and I dont wish to buy on impulse. So we went for the massage, first.

As I said, it was not bad. My body really felt less tensed and sore. After that we went for dinner. As usual, dearie did a little "merry-go-round" for that surprise element. Though the surprise was not very well executed, haha, I really appreciate the thought. =)

I came to the entrance of Les Amis and suddenly the name of the restaurant sounds so familiar. After a 5 seconds, then I recalled it was introduced in a travel channel as 1 of the 11 restaurants which serves the most extravagant/luxurious meals in the world; with their white truffles menu. Actually, most of them uses expensive ingredients like cavier/truffles/foie gras/edible gold dust in their dishes, like pizza, burgers, cake etc. A few, thrives on their splendid venue and ambience with fantastic views while some chefs reign with their specialty and renownedness. Only 1 caught more interest, Dinner in the Sky.

David Ghysels has created a true moveable feast with his unusual Dinner in the Sky that dangles from a crane 165 feet above the ground. It's one of the few fine dining establishments that requires guests to fasten their seat belts before diving into a gourmet meal. Groups can host a dinner party for up to 22 people almost anywhere in the world, from the Las Vegas Strip to London to India. A catering company or private chef does most of the cooking on the ground, though there is electricity and a gas grill available for high-flying cooking. And live music is available but will cost extra as the performers are raised on a separate platform that hangs in the air alongside the restaurant. Plan for a trip to the powder room before you get on board -- bathroom facilities are available on the ground but require the entire group to descend for a potty break.

So interesting!! You can choose the venue! Check out the website! Not for people who are afraid of heights though. Unless they can distract themselves with the sumptuous food. =)

I cant explain why I had apprehension even before I stepped into the restaurant. Like you know, atas restaurants like this are usually over-rated and I hate to get disappointed, especially with a huge price tag.

We were quite the first customers for the dinner that evening as we stood stupidly for few minutes to wait for the tuxedo-clad waiter, obviously too busy with whatever he was doing, to show us to our reserved table. Finally he was done and we were shown to the corner table. Frankly speaking, I reallyyyyyy have very low expectations of the standard of service because dearie and I were CONVINCED that 90% of the Sg's customer service(F&B) is poor. Nevermind that the waiter dont bother to pull out my chair, I was appalled that he pulled the chair for dearie instead.

Like WTF.

Even if hubby's more feminine than I am, certainly the waiter should pull out my chair righttttt~ I've never seen anyone pull out the chair of the male guest rather than the female guest leh. That really didnt set my spirits high. So I grabbed the menu and hoped that the dishes can excite me instead. But I was again disappointed. Choices were few, for all starters/entrees etc. Almost all of them were simply.....just not what we usually order. Eggplants? No. Eels? No. Octopuses? Not unless they're sashimi. Bamboo clams with cavier?? Maine lobster, but steamed?? Baby monkfish on the bone?? Sounds unappetizing. Home-made pasta with white truffles, how "exciting". Spanish-style sucking pig?? Huhhhh??

Yes, there was my fave foie gras but I was famished(it's my "breakfast" ok) so I wanted something filing.

Dearie is a fish freak so he grabbed the only fish dish which sounds okie, "Slow cooked Danish Halibut "sous vide" with Maitake mushrooms, lardo crudo and green tea puree"($80), while I ordered "Steamed Alaskan King Crab Risotto with White Alba truffles($110)"

I was silently telling myself....Let's see how amazing is this white truffles, which are termed white diamonds.

We were served butter and bread but really, it was nothing really worth mentioning.

Oh!! There was something worth mentioning! The waiter approached us with a basket of 3 different kinds of bread and I chose white bread. Then he said, "Please remove the napkin" and then I realized the napkin, which was supposed to be place on our laps by them, were on the plates! With both his hands busy, he actually asked us to self-service. I mean, is this really a fine-dining restaurant?? ZzzZzz

Amuse bouche was prawn as shown in the top left hand picture. An angmoh actually came up to introduce the dish with an bored expression on his face which clearly carried the message that he wouldnt give us the time of the day if not for the sake of keeping his job.

Delicate, crisp on the outside, tender and fresh inside. However it was a veryyyy skinny prawn. As if halved. Seasoning, slightly over saltish but acceptable. The vegetables tasted raw, hard, cold, acidic in contrast to the warm prawn. How odd.

My crab risotto was disappointingly hard. Sigh, I hate having hard risotto. That's like so unacceptable. However, it's still edible and I dont wish to wait for another as I'm famished. First meal of the day at 7pm. Just look at the picture will you? The plating is just.....sigh. The lettuce is kinda redundant. It's not a salad!! And it spoils the plating despite the beautiful shavings of the white truffles. Alaska king crab leg meat were chopped into chunks, tender and fresh. So thankful that they were not skinny, however, will be happier if there are more. The risotto has a hidden poached egg inside which really.........I just dont know what to say. So I'm eating risotta glazed with egg yolk. I like eggs but....all I can taste were egg yolks for the risotto! It's an eggy risotto. Oh my god...

As for the shavings of raw white truffles, it's kinda hard to describe. Hmm.....it had a very faint earthy smell that doesnt attract or repel me. But it's so faint like it wasnt there. I reckoned they aint very fresh. It's texture was smooth and soft but rather bland. To me, it's like a pretty and classy garnish that looked like snow flakes on a dish but basically did nothing to enhance the flavour.

As for dearie's halibut, I only heard him complaining about the portion being too small and complimenting the mushrooms being fantastically fragrant. Fish texture was ok. That's about it. Together with the still water we had($14), total bill is around $240.

In all, the only thing which impressed me is the bill and the most unforgettable thing will be; 1st time a waiter of a fine-dining restaurant pulled out a chair for my husband instead of me. Thank you. We thought we should go back to The French Kitchen for our anniversary celebrations next year. And we suddenly felt bad that we didnt go back because Chef Charles is really very nice! Dearie apologized for the disappointing dinner. Silly boy. There's no need to apologize, just treat it as an experience then. Thank you for the dinner! Smuacks. We walked to Taka and Paragon for some shopping. Finally settled at Paragon, Cova for some desserts!! I'm happy to bring him there because I like Cova's cakes! Had a great time there because I love my mango tart and my Paradise Kiss Tea is also not bad. =) Dearie's tiramisu was rather unsatisfying. It was bland!

Comments: A total waste of money. Firstly, I have to say we did not have any expectations of the movie at all as it's obviously a NS-men ghostly horror show with extremely low budget. We didnt really mind that BUT it's apparent that the director or the scriptwriter did not put their heart nor mind into this show at all! The plot is nonsense, okay, I shouldnt say it's nonsensical, more of, it dont make any sense, no head no tail. And most importantly, heck the show is a little over an hour only! Like 70 or 75minutes? Kaoz, I totally couldnt believe it when the credits appeared. Mark Lee had little parts and is not the director. And suddenlyyy, I feel he's actually not bad, compared to the director of 23:59

其实关于狮子女的关键字，我思考了很久。我十分不情愿写成上边的那2个词。因为，长久以来，

Coco Lee's Wedding!!

Sometimes really cant stand how weak my immune system is. Was at a roadshow yesterday and I blame it all on the weather. I began to sneeze like hell, all the way till late. Took not 1 but 2 panadol cold relief and today I'm a jelly. =( No choice but to rest at home instead of going to work as I have a full day course tomorrow. Have to wake up early. Sigh. I've tried drinking more orange juice to improve my immune system but because of the stupid acid reflux disease, I cant drink too much acidic stuff. Vitamin C pills always cause me to be heaty, which again leads to sorethroat and fever. What can I do or eat leh??

On to happier things. Very happy that my idol, Coco Lee finally got hitched. It's so heartwarming and it felt as if a friend got hitched instead. Haha. There are numerous reports of the wedding and lots of waggling tongues said things like how little her hubby, Bruce Rockowitz earns in comparison to how much the wedding costs, or how Coco is richer than her hubby so she's probably the one paying for her own wedding or the worst from the more ignorant ones, saying how Coco married her hubby of 11 years old senior for his money!! Sometimes I simply feel so ashamed being a Singaporean. I dont understand why and how people alwaysssss have negative stuff to say. I feel so sorry for them, a bunch of bitter lowlifes, who are always whining about not earning enough and feeling sour grapes for people who obviously CAN AFFORD to splurge on their weddings. I mean, it's really none of our business to judge whether the wedding is justified for their income, or whether the splurge is worth it or not. So long so they're happy!! It's THEIR wedding okie. And obviously, Bruce, a CEO of a company and with over 21 years of experience, you worry for his cashflow or financial management? Common. Worry for yourself first la.

Moreover, Coco has soOOoo many suitors. It's apparent that Bruce's significance to her much exceeds his worth. I think he's very sweet to accompany her for the Singapore Concert. From Coco's interview, Bruce is a very very nice and humble guy. Like, which guy can go on the first 3 dates with the sister tagging along like a nanny? Very wet blanket right? But Bruce went along, albeit with some amusement I can imagine. And during the first meeting with Mama Lee, Mama Lee totally ignored Bruce despite his few attempts to try to talk to her. A man of his status, a CEO, I think he's very respectful for the elderly and extremely humble. Me too, wondered why Mama Lee is so dao, And after the meeting, Coco also asked her mum desperately why the cold attitude?? Mama Lee replied, "I didnt answer him because I'm observing him intently!!" Haha Mama Lee so cute. And he hardly talk about his achievements, instead he's concerned with her family, which I think is very sweet. To see the interviews, it's here(at 31:30) and here, very funny and entertaining.

I think the couple was extremely sweet and not to mention, exceedingly generous in ensuring only the best were used and presented at the wedding. With all the stars' performances together with Coco herself, I believe it was not only a glamorous and touching wedding, but also a stellar show! Let's share some pictures!

I'm up early!! Am actually up at 10am. Wow!! That's because hubby woke up to wash himself. Being a light sleeper, I'm up too and not been able to sleep anymore. I really hate myself for being such a light sleeper. Though I always console myself if *touch wood* got any burglars or whatever I will probably know because I think I will wake up from sleep if the main door opens. Haha!

Had a great holiday eve with the girlies, Gra, Jy, Kel. Felt so blessed with such great friends around me. =D And when I'm home around 3+am, there my cute hubby was sleeping snuggled in blankets. Floor was vacuumed, dishes washed, Vickki's food re-filled. What more can I ask for? =) But FYI, MOST of the time is I do housework one okieee~ Just that yesterday, again, bad night sleep and was in a rush to meet the girlies then I told him to leave it till I'm back to do it today because he was kinda sick yesterday. But he did it anyway. And now he's with his client at medical checkup appointment. Such a darling.

Actually I'm really quite short of going crazy this few weeks because I was cooped up at home as I was sick. Ate really little with most of them being ta-bao food, accompanied with frequent diarrhea, I actually lost 2.5kg. So yay, pretty happy. =P Although the girlies said I'm back in shape, I still wish to shed off a few more kg maybe. My face is still puffy. =( But I reckon that's quite mission impossible because I'm backkkkkk! I cant even think of how much I ate yesterday.

We met at Raffles City, Aerins at #B1-11/12 for dinner and drinks. I chose the place because they always make me choose the venue! Anyway, I've been there before. It's a nice place and I love the Prawn Risotto. Perfect seasoning, creamy, with succulent giant prawns. It's still preferable to share the dish as it's risotto, carbo mah..and the creamy texture, some might get tired halfway through. So we ordered Norwegian Salmon Fillet and Italian Spicy Sausage to share too.

My fave is still the Prawns Risotto although I love the onion sweet sauce which accompanied the Italian sausages and mashed potato. However, spicy sausages are just not my cup my tea. Love cheese sausages more. The Salmon is not bad. The stars of the night ought to be the desserts!! Namely, Profiteroles and Warm chocolate lava cake with ice-cream!! They really got us all whining, they were sooooo good! The Profiteroles were like cream puffs stuffed with ice-cream and I love the ice-cream which came ice-cold. Hate runny ice-creams. It's not vanilla but yet not overly sweet. Cant fathom the ice-cream flavour but supper yummy, it's really just my kinda thing! For the warm lava cake, the outside was crisp yet soft, and when we cut it open, liquid chocolate simply flowed out. Orgasmic! I love it that the chocolate was not googy and not too sweet. Gra joined us slightly later at 9.30pm and had a starter; Soba with seared tuna, which she said was good too!

We also ordered a bottle of Chardonnay which was priced so cheaply at $50. Though I find it to be slightly acidic but they're still pretty okie. I mean, you can seldom get wrong with white, unlike reds which can be a disaster. =P Lychee martinis!! Our ladies' favorite. 2 at $20 only. I thought the alcohol was decent, considering the price. But Jy said her Watermelon martini was overly strong so she switched with Kel's Raspberry martini, which was kinda too sour to my palate. It was a wise choice to just stick to lychee. =P

Basically the place has a great ambience in my opinion. Apple green lush cushion seats and I specially reserved a table next to the fountain(ya..am so control freak! =P). The place was quite crowded on a PH eve but still not really full house and I really appreciate that the people there were not as noisy. Great place to chill, bitch or gossip, discreetly. Haha.

The only bad point was that they closed too early, around 10.30pm on a PH eve. Normal days will be 10pm. So we adjourned to Pan Pac hotel for 2nd round. Gra recommended us this cozy bar lounge which serves $9.99nett Saketinis, Martinis and Wine. Can you believe it?? It was kinda full inside so the waitress allowed us to sit outside(out of the lounge, at the hotel sofa seats). It was kinda funny because if you are to sit there and order drinks, the drinks will be like twice the price or more in comparison to if you're siting in the lounge. They're like 2metres apart? Haha. So anyway, not many people around there though we did see many ladies dressed to the nines strolling by(to toilets). Later then we realized there's a club at Pan Pac, near the taxi stand. Hmm....what's this trend with clubs at hotels? It is all the rage, like Avatar is Marina Mandarin.

Lychee Saketini came highly recommended by Gra so we all took it. Yums! It tasted quite similar to Lychee Martini with less sweetness with just a teeny kick of sake punch. We also ordered Wings and Scallops & Pork. Both did not impress. I have a sensitive palate and the wings didnt taste fresh to me, which was very disappointing for a hotel's standard. I was daunted by the 3layers of pork fat...who came up with the idea of serving it with scallops?? While they do served water, they tasted like raw tap water. I mean I know the "ice water" served anywhere is also tap water but somehow, the fluorine taste aint that strong. Maybe because there are ice-cubes and lemon etc. But this, was.....arggghhh. Anyway we had so much to catch up and the waitress kinda disappeared after settling the bill. Which was around..1+ or 2am maybe? But we continued to sit there and chat.

We chatted about everything under the moon and at one point or another, we simply wondered about what is love, what is like, what is fate and what is life. Haha. Profound ya. =P We all have our counterparts but yet all seems so vastly different in...life stages. For example, Jy is married with kid, I'm married without kid, Gra is attached in a stable relationship but not married yet etc. We're all of different ages too, with max 7 years apart. Omg, didnt relized Aunt Kel was 7 years older than me till now. Lol. The babe looked as fresh as mid twenties. =D

And all of us have our differences with our SO(Significant other) and we simply marvelled at how we all got to come together as buddies years ago, how we went through each heartbreak and became stronger and how we're doing now at different phases of life. At one point in time, something simply strucked me, as clear as lightning, as to, you know, how the imperfect bla bla bla can be the perfect bla bla bla for the imperfect us because nobody is perfect bla bla bla. It's a known fact that nobody is perfect and we all have our shortcomings. But which kind of shortcomings is acceptable and which are not?

I can think of 3 which are totally not acceptable(to me)
1) Womanizing
2) Excessive gambling
3) Not committed

I wont and cant accept them, if any ONE of them exists in my partner. So what are the acceptable shortcomings? Tons. As much as they're acceptable, sometimes too many of them also seems like a big problem! However, its's like a no end to comparison since we're also not perfect ourselves.

And I simply said, if he/she can accept your biggest fault, that will be his/her most priced asset. For a relationship to be really long-lasting, the good points must really match the partner's bad points.

For example

An emotional girl will need a super caring boyfriend.
A calculative girl will need a generous boyfriend.
OR
An MCP boyfriend will need a docile girlfriend.
A bad-tempered boyfriend will need a good-tempered/patient girlfriend.

It actually doesnt matter if how many good points you have. You might be close to perfect. Your partner might be close to perfect. But if he/she, with her biggest heart/asset, cant accept your greatest flaw, then both of you might be difficult to work out.

I always feel my greatest flaw is my temper. I have a fiery temper, short-tempered(chillipadi lor). I get irritated or angry easily but I also get cooled down pretty easily and I dont have grudges. Never. Sometimes I'll just forgot the whole thing even happened after 5minutes and asked, "Where you wanna eat?"

Maybe you can already guess, and yes, hubby's best point is that he has an excellent temper and is very patient. And because of his crappy nature(at times), he's able to disarm me with jokes and laughter even when I'm boiling mad. Until I also dont know to laugh or cry. Tell you few men got the balls to do it, few man succeed.

For his part, his super major flaw is that he's super insensitive and thus not caring at all. It's actually quite a challenge as all girls need care and concern. But I have to bear with little or almost none for most of the time. It gets quite unbearable when I'm having PMS, that's when I get vulnerable and super emotional. Thank god other than PMS, that seldom happen because I'm optimistic, cheerful and independent. And I have great friends to confide in. ALTHOUGH I do babble once in awhile when I'm on alcohol la, "why cant my hubby be more concerned about me etc etc". Ladies need care and concern one mah. =P

Apart of all mentioned above, of course there are other stuff too.
Must be satisfied with the overall package la! And the bottomline is, you must be happy with the person! If a man gives you more heart-pain than happiness then please forget about him.

Every one got a checklist in their hearts, some got a longer list while some have a shorter one. It doesnt really matter though do understand that the longer your checklist, naturally you need a longer time to find, unless you're real lucky. And, while you have your checklist, other people have theirs too. It's to each his own. Some guys like their girls gorgeous, with boobs and with no spunk while some girls like their guys with money, with career and with no mothers. You know, both quite the same so dont go finger-pointing la.

That concludes my entry! Jy suggested we should all go tour 1 day. Totally agree. Bali sounds perfect for lazing and massages but lately many earthquakes leh.

Comments: I've always love 程小东's productions. Most of Jet Li's films were filmed by him. True enough, he did not disappoint. There's a minimum standard of quality for his movies. However...hmm...maybe the white snake story has been reproduced many times so there wasnt really any surprise elements in it, cant really blame him actually. Oh the "鲜草" was something new. Haha. One thing to note is Jet Li is the milder version of the numerous replications of Fa Hai. Fa Hai is usually portrayed as one who kills any 妖 who crosses his path. On the contrary, Jet Li's version merely demanded that White Snake stayed within her realm and not bother Xu Xian. When she didnt, then he wanted to eliminate her.

程小东 did the typical white snake story scenes with flair, like, the fighting scenes between White Snake and Fa Hai, 水淹金山寺 or how White Snake is being trapped under the pagoda. Wonderful animation, although the snake can actually look more real instead. Fair presentation by the stars though I suddenly had a thought Cecilia would be more suitable for the role of White Snake. Because of her 敢爱敢恨 personality, I believe she can execute the role with more passion and fervor. Her role in 河东狮吼 really left me a very deep impression, spectacular. Eva is...kind of too mild for the role? She cant convince that she's willing to 水淹金山寺 for Xu Xian. More funny exchanges could be added. 程小东's movies were a alot funnier in the past. =( Still a nice show. =)

It has been a long time since I share my fave items. Simply too busy to do so. But here it is. Give them a try and hopefully you'll like them as much as I do. Actually I love them for quite some time already, just no time to blog about them. =)

1) Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss

I'm loving this nude colour in 040, Nude Lustre! Angi like it so much that she bought a similar tube too! Super obsessed with nude shades this quarter. I'm like buying every single thing in nude, nude harem pants, nude dresses etc.
This range of glosses comes with spf15, very opaque and they're good to use alone even with no lipstick. They are pretty long-lasting, thus a teeny bit sticky. But I love it because the colour "eats" easily into your lips and doesnt seems "separated". Hope you get what I mean.. =P

2) Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss
Am also loving this range of lip gloss in 080, Cherries in the glow.
It's a very subtle and sensual red. Gives a sexy pout without coming across as trashy or loud. Both glosses mentioned are very opaque and without any glitter. I seldom buy glosses with glitter because that will make my already thick lips even plumper. Yeah, I dont wish to look like I have 2 hotdogs for lips. =X

3) Christian Dior - Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect # 457 Pink Liberty

This ought to be my favorite pink lip gloss ever. I always love pink glosses but somehow, sadly, they just look wrong on me. I know I look far from sweet but even neglecting that fact, most pink glosses which I bought simply cant "eat" into my non-pale lips. This one can, comes with slight shimmer and looks very sweet.

4) Revlon Nail Enamel, Creme Brulee 915

A pinkish nude nailpolish! Slight shimmer and I believe suits any skin colour. They're pretty lasting too. 1 coat of my toes lasts for weeks. However not so for nails if you need to wash dishes like I do. =(

4) Hopegirl Honey Bling Blusher in lovely pink
Although I'm very tempted to buy Candy Peach as well!

I love it's leopard prints packaging! It's a very pigmented blusher, pretty lasting too. What's more, it comes with a very soft blusher brush which is very handy for touch-ups. I seldom like brushes attached with blushers but this is really 1 exception.

I tried their mascaras as well but it's not impressive. Just try to resist it's packaging then.

5) Shiseido Tsubaki Damage Care Conditioner.
This comes in a white bottle, although there are other colours like gold and red as well, differentiating different series.

Actually I tried the shampoo, but it wasnt impressive. Surprisingly, the conditioner is really good. Hair feels extremely soft and smooth, and somehow, voluminous after using. Watson's having a 20% sale right now for Tsubaki, which is extremely rare!! Go get it! Have yet to try to hair mask. Will review it when I have time. =)

And somehow I just realized all the items I've shared are currently out of stock on online websites. Haha. Thank god we have Watson, I usually get all my stuff there. Yeah, I'm a drugstore girl! Because so far many branded stuff I've tried disappoint me again and again, no matter it's base makeup or cosmetics etc. The one which let me down the most ought to be SK2. I've sold the Pitera Essence but the Cellumination Essence is still sitting in my wardrobe. (=______=)'''''''' Even applying on my neck gives me itchy rashes. Urgh!

Much prefer Korean skincare/base makeup for now like The Face Shop and Beauty Credit. Oh and Bourjois and Shu Uemura too. For makeup items, I'm quite open to all, though more inclined towards Urban Decay, Revlon, L'oreal or Jap/Korean brands. =)

I'm kinda late....but it's October, Global Breast Cancer awareness month!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is an annual international health campaign organised every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

It is also a way to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection because breast cancer can be contracted by anyone, even by people who are supposedly leading healthy lifestyles. So no matter you're A cup, B cup, C cup, or sawaDee-cup, do get your boobies checked!! Early detection can save you!

And something which I just got to know;

Every October, Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) illuminates landmark buildings or monuments around the world in glowing PINK lights as part of their global campaign. And this year, they transformed The Singapore Flyer into a radiant PINK on 1st October! Here are some pictures!

The flyer joins the ranks of about 200 other global landmarks like the Empire State Building and Taj Mahal that will also be lighted pink. It is hoped that the initiative will help educate the public about breast cancer and the importance of early detection to increase chances of recovery.

SO NICE AND SWEET RIGHT??

I'm not so much of a pink person. As in, I seldom wear pink-colour stuff, cant really carry it off. Ha! =P However I'm okay with pink blogskins, pink mugs etc la. BUT, I'm going to tryyyy to wear some pink stuff in the month of October, as a show of support for this cause! Ya kinda lame. Actually it's because I bought 2 lovely pink tops few weeks ago. Muahahaha. Just right for October. =P I've being cooped up at home for like more than a week because I'm not feeling well...and I'm going crazy soon. *_* Hopefully I'll get better and able to wear my new pinky tops. =P

Alot of major joyous events have happened around me;
Like dear Lyn's birthday, the whole group of us went Marina Bay Sands for dinner at TWG, followed by clubbing at Boiler weeks ago. The dinner was so-so though. But the company were great!!!

We ordered the lovely cupcakes from Shida, it's Bling bling Girly night theme!! I also told Shida please custom make some tiaras, bows and rings etc because the same day, Dan was giving Angi a surprise proposal too!

The fondant cupcakes did not disappoint! It's colour theme is pink, white and silver!

They tasted super yummy too! Lyn got super high that night and it's just so sweet and funny. She went hugging everyone for longlong time. Hahahaha!

Dan's lovely surprise proposal to Angi, on the exact same day which we celebrated Lyn's birthday was super uber sweet too! He dressed as Timmy, the mascot and presented the ever loveliest 1.2+ carat diamond ring to propose to Angi!! Of course, the answer is yes. =D I'm so looking forward to the ROM/Wedding. Just the ring itself costs $17k? I wonder how lavish will dear Angi's wedding gown la, accessories la and wedding will be. =D

Congratulations to the lovely couple!! =D

I hated myself so much for forgetting to bring camera that day! Because it was simply too rush. We had meeting at the office before that, had to rush to doll up because we had Bling Bling Girly night theme. And so on and so on. Have to wait for them to upload the pictures.

Super long time no see!! Now blogging from dearie's new toy, ipad2. I know, we're so slow right.
But initially I discourage him to buy one because I feel it's redundant since we have laptops. But well,
he's just a boy at heart. And of course there are other reasons la.

I still prefer lappy, I can type like a thousand times faster lor. Haha just kidding.
Hmm hopefully he can download nice games which I like, because I also seldom play games one.
At most word games.
I'm just super busy lor. Looking forward to Friday, it's girlies nite :)

CITIBANK SUCKS TO THE CORE!

Woah, I simply dont know when to start counting their faults. Those idiots, most of them FT. I really dont understand what's so difficult with their job?

Many years ago, when I first started using their cards, it wasnt so bad. The first outcry was when I received my bill late. It was like late by 1 month or so, thus when I received my statement, I'm already late for my payment. So anyway, I paid the bill and expectedly, when I was being charged the late fee, I called in for a waiver, stating WHY I paid late; it's because the stupid bill came late! The CS still tried to argue with me but I insisted I was at no fault, because I'm right! I'm never late on my bills okie because I pay them the day I received them, not few days before due date. It's easier this way; receive bills->pay bills->throw away bills-> no trouble. Then I wont forget, wont be late and never need any reminders.

2nd F-up
There was the season of promoting "going green", by going "statementless" with e-statements being checked online. Sure, so I opted for it, I also wish to do my tiniest part so that less trees can be chopped. But the CITIBANK online website is such a pain in the ass. I was holding 2 cards then, and instead of having a login name, we have to log in with our 16digits credit card number. For security purposes, of course the card numbers cannot be saved. Hence, you always have to type the 16 digits all by yourself. And when you need to check for another card, you have to log out from the account, and log in with another new set of 16 digit credit card numbers.

*breathe deeply* So it's either I have to memorise the 32 numbers, otherwise type the digits 1 by 1 from the card like an idiot. And WHY SHOULD I?? Even if I have a terrific memory, I also wont waste my brain cells on stuff like that. Not to mention I dont have(a terrific memory) lor. So I called in to opt for manual statements from the next month onwards. And damn it, for the next few months, I still never receive my statements. Since it's difficult to track my spendings, everytime I have to aga-aga pay like $500-$1000 to the card, conservatively in excess so that I wont incurr late charges. But again, it's damn stupid lah.

Sometimes I forgot to pay too, I then incur the late charges, which time to time again, I called in to KP them to waive. At the same time, requesting for manual statements again. But they never come!! Eventually I'm so fed up and stopped using my own CITIBANK cards(I got TANGS & DIVIDEND) and only used the CITI DIVIDEND card which hubby subbed me for CITI discounts because his bills got no problem. And FYI, I still pay him back my own spendings okieeeee~

This aug, I treated dearie to a meal at TCC and I had to use CITI card for discounts. Since I'm treating him, I dont wish to use his sub card even though I pay him back on statement day. It's not so nice you see. So I see my own stupid CITI card. I had to keep the receipt and remind myself constantly to go AXS machine to pay that exact amount since I have no statements! Eventually I forgot to keep track since I always pay my credit card bills through DBS/OCBC internet banking or bank transfer to hubby(for sub cards), and not AXS machine. So for safety sake, I called back CITI again to ask how much is the total outstanding and to pay by when. She said there is a annual fee which she will waive for me and my spending of $51.40 to be settled by Sep. And of course I settled it way back in AUG. Today is Sep 1st and damn, I receive the statement from CITI. I was pretty happy because finally I receive my manual statements!! Like, you know, on the 5th request or something.

But I think my eyes shot sparks when I saw the $160+ outstanding amount which was levied on me. It states "previous balance". I was like WTH. So I called back but was informed politely that it was peak hour and please do leave my contact number so that they can call me back by tomorrow.

"NO way!! You guys never call back! And I have an important matter right now so please get someone to talk to me right away!"

Few minutes later, a filliphino attended to me and she told me those were the card charges WHICH SHE CAN WAIVE FOR ME. I was like, "that's what the last CS officer told me! But why is it still reflected on the statement?? Why??"

"Erm...I checked the statement and didnt see that request being put up. But nevermind, I will put up for you right away---"

"So WHY it's always like that?? I called many times before to request for simple stuff like changing address or changing to manual statements but WHY it is only done on the 3rd requests but never the 1st?? All calls are recorded for quality purposes right but haven your management realize you guys say one thing and do the other?! "

"I'm sorry, Madam, I dont know why it's like that.."

"So you're sureeeee that this time the fees will REALLY be waived??? Or will I have to call in again the 3rd time to hear another officer telling me that okie, it will be waived AGAINNNNN??!!"

"Yes yes sure madam, I had already done it. It has been done."

*breathe deeply*

"So do I have anything outstanding?"

"Nope, nothing...merely the card fees with it's accompanied late interests...which will be waived!"

Like bullshit. Say they will waive the card fees, then still send me a statement CHARGING me the fees, TOGETHER with the LATE charge they levied AFTER telling me they will WAIVE the fee and instructing me I dont have to pay at all.

That's it.

"Cancel the card for me."

"But madam, I will waive off the card fees for you and it will be free for the next year---"

"I dont want! And I dont need! I got many cards. Just cancel for me."

"Okie sure Madam..."

I really dont understand how they do stuff. Sigh.

I felt much better already.

Sometimes in life, humans can be so selfish, even in the tiniest details. It's best to always depend on yourself. Seriously, who do you think will help you when you're hopelessly sick, or very in need of money? Your spouse? Yes, he/she will squander all their fortune to treat your cancer if he/she really loves you alot alot. But if you really love him/her, you wont even put him/her into financial despair, will you? Borrow money from friends? Think again. Wait for government subsidy? Dream on. You're covered? Good. But is it enough? Life insurance is a parachute, you'll only need it once, or else you'll never need it again. If coverage is too little, it's as good as flying with a parachute with holes. Therefore, review yearly as your age/priorities change.

I know right? It has been so long since my last entry and it's usually unlike me to abandon my blog for so long.

I'm so freaking tired can? It's really not easy to juggle both work and housework manz, especially when you're staying in a "white house".

I've really been busy. Wow, it's like...it has been very long since I was real real busy. =X Of course other than work, I also got my wonderful life, my wonderful family and friends etc. Especially during this birthday month, especially on our beloved nation's birthday 9th Aug which was also my birthday, thank you very much. =)

Wedding’s off, now here’s your $132k bill

Following the story of a couple who had to pay a hefty penalty for their Design Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) unit after they broke up, PropertyGuru received an email from a reader who is undergoing a similar experience.

John (not his real name), had bought a DBSS unit for $660,000 in 2008 from a developer under the Fiancé/Fiancée Scheme.

John was supposed to submit his marriage certificate by 20 April 2011.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he is now unable to continue with the purchase as he has since broken up with his fiancée, who is a foreigner.

With the marriage now cancelled, he is ineligible for the scheme.

In addition, he will now have to pay a penalty of 20 percent of the purchase price.

The amount works out to $132,000.

Despite his appeals to the developer and seeing his MP twice, he was told to get married, failing which the developer will proceed to forfeit his deposit.

John is now harbouring suicidal thoughts as it means he will be thrown into debt.

"I will be destroying my life the next three years as I need to save up again for my marriage. This is too heavy a penalty for me," said the 29-year-old who is earning $2,500 a month.

HDB's or developer's responsibility?

When asked why he did not apply for a Built-To-Order (BTO) flat as it is more affordable, John said he and his then fiancée fell in love with the location.

"I was with my ex-girlfriend and the location is nice. I would say it has a lot of plus points. That's why we chose this DBSS flat," said John.

John also feels that he has been pushed around between the HDB and the private developer.

In his email correspondence to the developer, he mentioned how the HDB had asked him to talk to the developer.

In the meantime, the developer had said they will be talking to the HDB.

"I am very frustrated being pushed between HDB and the developer," John said in his email.

When contacted, the developer said it makes the final call.

"The developer reserves the rights to terminate the sales and purchase agreement by serving a 21-day notice and forfeit 20 percent of the deposit as stipulated in clause 20 of the agreement should the buyer be no longer eligible to buy the DBSS unit," said a spokesperson, who did not want to be named.

The spokesperson added that it is flexible before buyers exercise this right "by allowing the buyer to form another family nucleus as approved by the HDB."

Under the DBSS scheme, the HDB sells a piece of land to a private developer.

Subsequently, the developer will undertake the entire construction, pricing and selling of the flats.

Blurring the lines between public and private markets

With the line between public and private housing now blurred, problems are bound to occur.

In the case of a private property, a buyer has the option of reselling his unit to another buyer at any time.

Not so in the case of HDB flats.

Being a public housing project, buyers are required to fulfill the five-year Minimum Occupation Period (MOP).

In a HDB Built-To-Order (BTO) unit, buyers will only incur a five percent penalty.

However, for DBSS units, buyers will incur a whopping 20 percent penalty.

This is where problems may arise should unforeseen circumstances occur.

No way out?

In a bid to assist the reader in his difficult situation, the developer has offered a solution to avoid the hefty penalty.

To retain the flat, he can form a family nucleus.

However, he was informed by the developer that his brother's name is not allowed.

Meanwhile, his parents are ineligible, as they have a private property.

Those who own a private property must now dispose them after getting a DBSS unit, within six months of getting the key.

His ex-fiancée is also ineligible as her parents already have their names in another HDB flat.

Another solution is for him to get a new fiancé.

However, he is again thrown in a dicey situation.

As the ethnic ratio quota for Chinese had been filled, he can only marry a non-Singaporean.

"Now that the Chinese quota has been filled, I cannot find someone who is Chinese to get married to take over the flat. I have to find other races. This is really very stupid," said John.

John said he had asked the HDB and the developer to help him search for a new fiancée who fulfils this criterion, but they were unable to help.

Developers' hands tied

When contacted, the developer said it is unable to comment if the ethnic quota can be waived for John's case as it falls under the purview of the HDB.

In addition, the developer would have to incur costs in order to re-market the unit to a suitable buyer.

However, due to John's unique circumstance, the developer said there is a possible leeway.

"Under such circumstances, the developer can allow another buyer, provided there is an eligible one, to take over such a unit," said the spokesperson.

Interested buyers would have to comprise one Chinese and another non-Chinese applicant in order to be eligible.

So, until such a buyer is found, John would possibly be thrown into debt.

Some comments that I like/agree:

Sadly this problem had to come up.
I would look at it from 2 angles.
1. John seriously should have considered carefully before even plunging into this purchase. As mentioned, his salary is only S$2,500 per month (not sure if it's gross or nett) but even if so, it's hardly a figure that warrants anyone to be committing to such a pricey place to live in. Sorry for sounding dispassionate but it is a truth. I am not trying to given John a lesson but I think we should be more figure minded with our monies especially when it monies that we have yet to earn. We should live within our means and grow from strenghth to strength instead of getting into debt especially such a huge one and then having to work our guts out to repay. However, with the current housing prices John 'should not' be faced with this problem. My second point is aimed at the developer/HDB.

2. With the present price of public housing, the HDB/Developer would have NO problems in disposing off this unit which John had purchased. HDB should looked into John's case and do a careful and detail investigation into his causes. If it is the truth John so speak then HDB/Developer should let John off the hook perhaps with a small fine coupled with a no-purchase clause of say the next 3 years or whatever it's within their discretion. There is no need to slap the entire 20percent on John as it being too uncompassionate. I do agree that the HDB in particular have their set of rules but rules can be flexible depending on the circumstances.

The developer mentioned of costs incurred in marketing John's flat if they were to take back the unit, this costs can easily be offset by the fine HDB imposed on John, so this is a lame excuse.
And it's the worst joke ever by the developer to ask John to go get himself a new fiancee, especially a non-chinese - just right after he's been ditched by his ex? He must still be living in a night mare about women. What an awful suggestion.

DTC:
My opinion , whether the penalty are reasonable or not have nothing to do with this case.
It's spell out clearly on the contract , we need to enter the contract with our eyes wide open.
Today , his made a loss due to unforeseen circumstances , the other way around he can also made a huge profit . He sign on the dotted line knowing if he is unable to fulfill the criteria he would have to pay a penalty , he still decided to go for it , so he have to paid for it . Unless he was con into buying it else we have to take responsibility for what we decide.
Now back to whether is it fair for 20% penalty , it is not fair. What can we do , we can walk away and buy normal HDB. I think all these bad decision are driven by Greed & MBT 's asset enhancement theory.

Trust:
When I bought my 3-rm flat I had many acquaintances saying I was stupid... I could easily afford a 4 or 5 room flat but I'm now 35 and free from the shackles of debt from servicing a mortgage. I bought a unit of a size that I NEEDED and my mortgage was for 15 years. Every bonus month I pushed a large portion of the monies to paying off the mortgage. I sometimes think the powers that be wants us to be in a state of debt as it's one way of keeping the citizenry rooted to Singapore.

My Views:
Wahahahahaha! Have to find a wife, not only that, she cant be a chinese?!?! Muahahahaha. Sorry for coming across as dispassionate. But a contract is a contract. I do sympathize with his loss but he should have calculate his sums before committing to a flat. All the comments were mocking how he dare to buy a S$660K flat with a monthly salary of S$2500. Aiya. Actually, it's obvious he came from a well-to-do background with parents staying in private property. If he dont have the support of his family, how will he dare to buy such a property? There are tons of young Singaporeans out there staying in private property because of well-to-do family background. It's not uncommon. However, I suppose a penalty of S$132K for nothing, on top of an unsuccessful union is a pinch, no matter how rich his parents might be. I can almost imagine how his parents might be pulling his ears now. Even if he will be in debt, I suppose his parents will help him out every month.

Hmm.............thank god nothing happens between me and dearie when we decided to buy our resale DBSS flat. I never thought the implications can be so detrimental and unfair. =PPP

Geylang Checker - has my support and more room for improvement

Dearie mentioned to me lately there is this new website called the Geylang Checker which posts pictures of guys, who supposedly patronize prostitutes at the Geylang area.

"Woah! Then you better be careful wor!" I joked, which of course, earned a 360degrees rolled-eyes from hubby.

Kekekeke!

It was said that the website was founded by a lady whose friend told her she saw her boyfriend at Geylang...doing what most guys usually do at Geylang. And so she went to check it out. It was indeed the truth and she broke up with the boyfriend immediately. Kudos to her!!

You know what I dislike the most about some girls were that they are always in self-denial.

"No lah, it couldnt be him at Geylang, you've seen wrongly!!"

Instead, the founder went to check it out herself and certify the truth.

"It's not his fault, it's those China B*/prostitutes seduced him!"

Haven you heard of it takes 2 hands to clap?

While I agree that 3rd parties and vixens whom we always know, are at fault, I always feel the guys bear a bigger share of blame. If they're strong in their mindset and try to stay away from disturbing and distracting "objects", they can never be seduced.

Since I am never a guy, I can never understand how...how...desperate or miserable they will feel if they're arent satisfied properly in you-know-where. But I think if a man, a single man, has to succumb to such urges and temptations and resort to visit prostitutes, there's only so much respect I can give him. Because he struck me as weak and I can only guess there's nothing much meaningful in his life.

Couldnt he just divert his attention and energy to his work?
Couldnt he just spend that 1 hour having dinner with his dear parents or friends?
Couldnt he just spend that 1 hour doing any other thing which can give him pleasure, be it reading, jogging, swimming etc?

I have absolutely nothing against prostitutes. They're doing an honest living. I wont even raise an eyebrow if I passed by one wearing only bras and panties, or being coquettish to passing males. It's their job.

However, it's another issue for single males to visit pros because ultimately, to me, it's like...you know..."public toilet". I mean, no offence to them. But it's like...who will visit prostitutes?

Super s*x-deprived guys who has no channels to release? And has simply no other activities to keep them busy or simply too lazy to seek other entertainment? I can only think of lao chee-ko-peh loh.

The above are only my views, with no offence to anyone. And of course, married or attached males who visit pros are simply unpardonable, no matter what reasons they might conjure. Wife pregnant? Not an excuse! Had an argument with wife and need a channel to release? Go die!

Dearie added that it might be unfair to some males because pictures were merely taken when they're walking along Geylang area. They could be working there or eating frog legs porridge at the area.

I checked out the website. Indeed, it's not impressive. Firstly, the whole website is pretty confusing and has a messy layout, plus the pictures were really blur. Of course, do mosaic the faces and carplate numbers, but 100% fully blur pictures are annoying to see. In addition, like what dearie said, some were merely walking on the roads.

"If the pictures really capture the guys walking into or out of motels or nightclubs etc with his hands around another female's shoulders, then it's another story." Dearie said.

It does makes sense lah. The pictures were nothing concrete.

However, just like the founder mentioned in the website, the website is merely a checker. For e.g, if you saw your bf/hubby's car appearing in the pictures at, say, 8pm when he told you specifically he's meeting a client at Vivocity, then obviously something is amiss.

I dont frequent Geylang nor am I familiar with that area so I also dont know pictures of people strolling at those specific spots are significant or not. But I always feel so long so you have a clear conscience, there's no need to be afraid even if you're spotted in the pictures. Anyway the pictures are so blur. Only your closed ones will recognize them. And they say;

People who know me will know how I'm like
And people who dont know me, there's no need to care

In any case, those pictures cant prove anything concrete. So if any wives caught their hubbies in the pictures, I think a second chance is allowed if proper explanation is given. Just keep a lookout will do. In any case, if the hubby really does patronize pros and unable to kick the habit immediately, at least he will reduce the frequency and gradually stopped I supposed. =S

Some people said the founder is merely out for vengeance towards men. Hahaha! What a stupid statement. Hey, sacrificing so much time and effort to alert Singaporean women whose hubbies are cheating on them?? I LOVE such vengeance then. =) She and her team are doing a favor for Singaporean ladies. They have my support. I do hope the pictures can be clearer(lol), and more significant spots/shots are captured instead. Muahahahaha!

Lastly, I wish all Singaporean Ladies have a faithful husband, blissful marriage and a loving family. =)

Had a very heavy and fulfilling weekend! It's all so worth it. =)

Friday
Full day agency event, from morning 7.30am to midnight. It's very fruitful and fun. Work hard, play hard. And guess what, it's the first time in my LIFE that I built sandcastles!! It's really not as easy as you think. Although our group didnt win the contest, I truly enjoyed the process. After which, we had supper at Bedok before heading home. Reached home around 3am. Concussed!

Kel actually asked whether I'm free to meet up the very night but I was unable to make it. Yes, haven seen her for so long. I do wish to catch up with her soon. But weekends are really so few and precious ever since I've started roadshows. And I have so many dear friends I wanna meet. =)

Saturday
Met up with sweetie Gra and Suan for Melben Crabbies dinner. We were pretty excited and couldnt explain why! Perhaps it's another few months since we've met? Everyone is so busy! But I told Gra the bigger reason might be...it's the first time we're catching a crabbies feast!! Yes yes very excited. We reached at around 6pm and there's already a long queue. In total, we waited 1.5hours for the sumptuous crabbies to arrive. 3 of us clapped unanimously like naive little schoolgirls when they were served. Lol. Guess the waitress looked at us like one kind. =P Had to say it's well worth the wait! =D

Chilli crab has always been my favorite because I love the savory sauce which comes with it. They're simply divine with the fried buns! We ordered 10 but me alone had 5! We didnt order rice nor other dishes though. Suan had little and what's more, she dont eat claws(gong)! OMG!! How can that be possible?? But I really cant contain my happiness when she said she dont eat claws. Muahahahahaha. Which means I can have moreeeee. So Gra and me each had 2 as we ordered 2 normal size crabs of 1 kg each. =D~~~ The dish was really splendid. Although it's already my 3rd time visiting Melben, I felt it was the best experience. Meat were succulent, claws were simply humongous, the sauce's sweetness and spiciness were perfect. Lots of egg too!!

Ahhhh..........really feel like going back again. Our total bill was around $101 including buns and drinks. So worth it.

We finished the dinner at 9pm and adjourned to Holland V for drinks. Coffee Bean it is. Told ya I'm quitting alcohol for the next 300days. Muahahahaha. From 9.30pm, the 3 of us chattered like nobody's business until 3+am! Even met 2 of my colleagues! Haha!

Met up with Ja, Ken and his wifey, YL for dinner at Marché 313 Somerset. Erm, it wasnt worth mentioning much because the food were simply so-so, not cheap plus services were slow. Still, we had fun chatting and trying all the different dishes. We had the signature Rosti with chicken cheese sausage, which lost in comparison to Ambush(Jurong Point) Rosti with Pork Cheese Cracker. Erm, we ordered other dishes too but somehow I cant really recall them...not worth a mention lah...The root-beer is not bad and pretty expensive loh.

After which, we adjourned to TCC just opposite the road for some drinks to relax. They all had tea while I had Mint Choc Frappe which was sweet until I can die. Merely drank half of it. And we suddenly realized TCC is having a 1-for-1-promotion for mains/pastas/sandwiches and kinda regretted we didnt dined there instead of at Marché, which was quite a disappointment for me. =P

Lin and KS were supposed to join me(I've invited them to join us, friendly friends dont mind at all. =), but poor Lin was sick. I had to catch the lovely couple another time. Hope she get well soon...and me too actually. Sigh. Yes, we're both sick of being sick! Lin and me had been trying to arrange to meet up for weeks!! Aiyea, I think we have to arrange again. =)

Went to Dr Roland Chong for follow-up specialist consultation at Gleneagles because the stupid chest pains just wont stop. They came back after I finished my medicine last prescribed at Mt A....and was slowly increasing in pain until it was pretty bad the last few days. Around 7 on my pain-o-meter of 10. And it was...pretty sian and dampening to see another month's of medication being prescribed to me. Another month of being jelly again liao lor. How to work?

Comments: Yeah...kinda sad that it's already the last sequel. But still pretty glad with the happy ending. I dont like shows which make me cry. =P It's actually pretty content-packed, IMHO, maybe because I didnt read the books? Will actually prefer the show being split into 2 sequels and it's not for the sake of extending it. In any case, I felt it's alot of story-telling instead of actions. Still pretty exciting and nice, but dearie got bored with the relating of the story most of the time. =P

Actually I'm really sick of being sick.

After I discharged from Mt A and finally after I finished my course of antibiotics, I thought I can have some comfortable life. But still, I have minor chest pains. That's not all. I started to have sorethroat and it was such a nuisance. What's more, I have fever together with running nose cum cough. Damn. I felt so miserable. The fever made me felt like burning all the time so I had to hide in the aircon room, blasting my aircon to the fullest. But my running nose didnt stop, so I was sneezing like mad with my nose like a running tap. And because the stupid nose was stucked, I had to breathe harder. And when I breathe harder, I will have the chest pains. Might be because I over-exert my chest muscles or WHATEVER lah I dont know! Till now, it seems like the root problem still not really solved. SO, I had to breathe through my mouth. BUT when I breathe through my mouth in aircon room, it made my throat even drier. With every swallow of saliva, it's damn painful. Simply felt like dying during last week.

Went to see doc and again, on antibiotics. I even lost my voice! Had to consult doctor a second time. It was very irritating when my throat was filled with tons and tons of phlegm. It's like, they're forever there! And the mucus in my nose was forever thick milky ones. Arrgghhh!!

I'm much better today. I merely wished to vent it all out.

I must get well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

This entry is dedicated to dearest hubby for his lovely pressies for me from Greece. =D

Initially I was supposed to expect 1 bag from him because he made me super mad and super sad few months back. Since I can never teach him how to be more sensitive to my needs and feelings, this is quite the only way(by extorting a bag from him), to relieve him of his guilt, and to console myself that he truly do care for me. =) Believe it or not, the idea of compensation with a nice bag is much out of exasperation and lame attempt on my part, in coercing him to care. Currently, it's the best method to keep him from making me angry/irritated/annoyed/sad. Because he knows, it's a hefty price to pay to make me unhappy, in any way. =)

Oh, and of course, because he loves me, in his very unique ways, he bought me not 1 but 3 items from Louis Vuitton.

Thames PM in Damier Ebene Canvas

Generally I love Damier Ebene Canvas prints because they're really easy to maintain. My long wallet still look fantastic after like...7 years? I've stopped buying Monogram already because the beige leather can oxidized to a very ugly colour in a very short time.

Thames PM's size is great because while it's not very big and bulky, it can fit my long wallet, handphone, Lumix camera as well as a compact. The only bad point is the strap is really thick and sharp at the edges, it's not nice to carry if you're bare-shouldered. It's stiff and doesnt stay on the shoulders too(my shoulders are not narrow), so you have to keep it in place by using your arms to hug it near to you.

Works both ways as a evening clutch as well as sling bag! Size is perfect for clubbing and elegant enough for a dinner. =) Love it!

Pochette Clef in Epi Leather, (bought in Noir(black)

I know! The Pochette Clefs in Rubis(red, in the pic above) is so stunning right? But it was out of stock, I only can get the black one. =( As much as my long wallet serves me well for it's long row of card slots, I usually take only 1 card and some bills out when I'm out clubbing or on days which I dont intend to shop or carry a big bulky bag. Especially during clubbing, I only bring 1 key out so this fits me well because it has a slim card slot(on the outside, opposite side not shown in pic), a zipped closure for some bills(cab fare) as well as a hook for me to attach 1 key. Hassle free! Fits in my Eva Clutch nicely. Epi leather is easy to maintain too.

Actually dearie bought me a passport holder in Suhali leather, but I thought it's a waste to only use it when I'm on travel. So I changed it to the above. It's the same price! =P

It was actually pre-birthday celebration for Iv and Ken who share the same birthday on 5th July. Happy birthday dudes!! We meant to catch dinner, Transformers movie and then chill. But Transformers was so hot that all tickets were sold out.

Anyway, I was supposed to meet Ken, YL and Ja for dinner but later chose to meet all of them straight at Alcool pub at South Bridge road because I wasnt hungry. Especially when they're having buffet. It was a larger crowd than I've expected, as almost everyone bought 1 or 2 friends along. Perhaps a total of 11 people? Didnt manage to take pics with all as some left pretty early. The aircon was so cold that I started sneezing non-stop. Very very bad. The night ended early at around 1+am. But Iv had already puke alottttt. Guess that's his aim. (=.=)'''

Ivan, pretty gone face~ I always admire how Cel always manage to conjure this very sexy expression in her pictures. Lol. Guess I can never master. Geez. Jov's new short coolz haircut!

Mt Alvernia Hospitalization experience

It was a Wed afternoon so it wasnt very crowded at Mt Alvernia. Waited around 45minutes(considered short) for my turn to see the doctor. Explained everything and finally got arranged to be admitted. It was a super hassling process. Dearie and I walked back and forth between the A&E department as well as the office for some financial counseling. I had a shabby one done by a nurse at the A&E department with a piece of paper, ticking my options. It showed the different ward charges. For standard rooms, single-bedded is S$400 per night. My alternative is doubled-bedded at S$230 per night. Please note they are only ward charges.

Got directed to the office where I waited another 30minutes for my turn, for another round of financial counseling. This time round, I was showed the estimated bill size for 1/2/3 days of hospitalization on the average basis for my ward. I dont quite remember the figures but I browsed through 1 and 2 days hospitalization and the figure was around $3k-$5K. And I suddenly found the initial financial counseling was pretty misleading huh~

Anyway, no single-bedded rooms were available so I had to settle for doubled-bedded. Along the way to the ward, there was this stale smell all along, as though you're visiting somewhere old and havent been cleaned in ages. Seriously, I much preferred the dettol/chlorine smell. I was directed to this rather dim room with heavy stale smell, occupied with 1 patient. It was 6pm already, 3 hours since the consultation with the doctor. Faint. Dearie and we were shocked that getting warded can also take so long with a private hospital. Of course it's still faster than a government hospital which takes 8hours or longer.

Before I started to settle down, I saw this.

(=.=)''' While I do not scream at the sight of cockroaches, I was disgusted how unhygienic the ward is. A cleaner was nearby and I called to her to help me clear it. Guess what? She seemed nonchalant and made no move of catching it. I spoke more firmly again and she actually called in the nurse, pointing at the cockroach. And the kind nurse brought me to another room where there's no stale smell which definitely look tons cleaner. She said they're going to disinfect the room and dont wish me to be there as it's unhealthy for me. And I wonder how the patient in that room is going to take it???

Anyway, the new room definitely looked cleaner, brighter and more inviting. Best part was, I had the whole room(and toilet) to myself because no other patient was admitted. Own tv, with the giant headphones attached to bed. Most of the time, I merely turned the volume to max and listened from faraway as the giant headphones was a chore to wear. Simply too big for my head, heavy too. Despite adjusting my bed in all angles, the tv was still so far above. Imagine my eyeballs(iris) were hanged high up like a ghost most of the time. ZzzZzz. Not many channels but they have HBO.

Anyway I was so tired and famished that I requested for my dinner. Initially the nurse dont dare to give me because I was also admitted for gastrology problems. They told me to wait for the doctor as I might need to fast for tests. When I asked when the doctor will come, they took time to revert and finally said the doc will come at 8+pm. I've experienced once at NUH when I fast for nothing and got to fast 16hours in a row, because the stupid doctor came later than promised plus the fact that they couldnt booked the theatre in time bla bla.

So I insisted on my dinner and said I can fast through the night and have any tests in the morning. It was already 6+pm. If I were to fast for another 6-8hours, it would be 12midnight or 2am. Hmm....not that it's not possible...but I dont think a doctor can perform a scope/coloscopy for me at that late hour. Afterall, it's not an emergency like appendix. So I had my dinner!

So moral of the story, be firm!! And think twice!! Dont follow exactly what the junior nurses(not head nurse) say because most of the time, they dont know much.

Pretty happy to have a menu to choose from! There's more than 8 choices available from western/chinese/malay/indian food. So ecstatic to see "Pan-fried prawns in saffron sauce with butter rice". Muahahahaha! Saffron sia!

Kawaii neh~!~ The cucumbers/carrots were cut so intricately.

Prawns were succulent, but hor, sigh...the whole dish was close to tasteless. *wails* There was minestrone soup too. I was super hungry so I finished everything. And I whined slightly to the nurse, =P, "Eh the food was tasteless! Next time can use more seasoning? I'm not that sick lah." It's actually more of a grumble, I dont really think they will listen but they did! The dishes which followed after these were pretty good, considering I dont have much appetite after all the tests.

Requested for toiletries for my bath after my dinner.

Shampoo, shower foam and body lotion, tooth-brush and toothpaste. No conditioner.
They were pretty moisturizing, considering my dry hair and skin. The lotion, however, smelled horrible, like toilet cleaner but I had to use it. Surprisingly, they were very moisturizing for the skin and leaves no sticky feeling. FYI, Mt Alvernia are super stingy with such toiletries. They only gave me a pack for that 2 days stay and said another pack will have extra charges added to the standard room charges. Appalled, I said I dont have enough shampoo and shower foam to use, and the nurse gave me 1 more of each. Thank god I'm short hair loh. Better to bring your own toiletries.

Dr Roland Chong came to see me at around 9pm and advised scope, coloscopy and ultra-sound scan to be done. And because he's based in Mt E, his time in Mt A was limited. Also, he need to co-ordinate with the availability of the operating theater for the tests, I was required to do the tests at 7am the next morning. That wasnt so bad until the nurse came forward with a 1litre water pitcher, telling me I need to finish the laxative in 1 and half hours, where after that, a second pitcher will follow.

"2 litres of laxative?? Oh my god! So does that mean I will diarrhea throughout the night??" I asked in shock.

"Erm...ya..probably.." The nurse replied.

I very much prefer to have a good night sleep and only do the test the next day afternoon or evening but dearie said it will also mean that I will need to fast another 8hours tomorrow in the day which will be torturous for me as compared to fasting throughout the night. Also, Dr Chong said he will charge additional if he needs to come back the next evening because it's considered OT for him as he's based in Mt E.

Doing a surgical procedure at 5+pm also considered OT? Duhz! When I said whether I can bring it earlier, so as not to incur his OT charges, he said the theater is only available at either 7am in the morning or 5.30pm the next day.

I'm quite irritated because before I'm warded, I've already said I want a Mt Alvernia based doctor so that I can follow-up easily for my own condition. And now, a Mt E doc was being assigned to me because somehow, ALL doctors from the Gastroenterology department were either on leave or on course. Dr Chong even mumbled, "Yeah, because she's lazy, so here I am." I was shocked, it clearly meant the Doctors at Mt Alvernia were simply having too good a life so that they can take leave as and when they want? I dont know about that but hmm....I wont like it if my doctor is always on leave, it will pose inconvenience if I really need to see him/her for follow-ups.

In view of all the above reasons...I've decided to simply LS through the night...so as to get everything done all at 1 go. =( The laxative sucks! I tried my best to drink but seriously, I cant get past my 2nd glass! I waved white flag to the nurse and she consulted Dr Chong(by phone) again. After awhile, the head nurse strolled in with 2 medicated bottles with pointed tips. =.=''' I can almost guess....yes....she inserted the liquid up my @ss. She's very professional so there's no uncomfy feeling and the diarrhea started. It's a breeze! They should have used this method sooner lah! Merely discomfort like common stomachache. Preferred this 10times more than drowning myself in the stupid laxatives. 2 litres? Who can finish in 4 hours? Not to mention it's disgusting taste.

So yes, if you ever need to do a scope(touch wood), you can request for this method if you find the laxative a disgusting chore to finish like me.

The diarrhea wasnt that bad, as in I didnt diarrhea throughout the night. But I had little sleep. I was being "served" another 2 bottles of laxative in the morning before the test and finally got pushed into the operating theater with apprehension. Thank god, they were done very very nicely. I woke up hours later with absolutely no bad feelings for my throat and *ahem* anus.

I still remembered how terrifying was the one I did at NUH. They stuffed the scope into my throat BEFORE I was unconscious and naturally, I was defensive as it was very painful and torturous. To my shock, they didnt stop and wait till I was unconscious and continued to stuff it down my throat violently. I felt as if I'm murdered in that bed! Tmd! I also woke up with a swollen throat which is super duper painful with every swallow of saliva.

Never go NUH. They suck big time!

Dearie came to see me again, bringing me my laptop. Iv also dropped by as he's working nearby. He described Mt Alvernia as "vintage". (=.=)''' A very nice word for "old". Frankly speaking, indeed, Mt Alvernia wasnt as new and nicely renovated as I thought. And it suddenly dawned on me that the ward charges(solely ward charges only) were expensive. Well, we always know, everybody knows medical expenses in Singapore is expensive, more so for private hospitals. But for a ward charge of more than $230, wow, that's even more expensive than a 4 star hotel which clearly have better and newer furnishings as well as a bigger area. Please do note there are other nurse/doc/surgery/misc charges.

Dr Chong came again in the evening and told me my scope test showed positive for bacteria infection. He added that it's acid influx up my esophagus which caused my chest pains. I never thought chest pains can be caused by problems from the stomach. I had many questions but Dr Chong had little time for me, no more than 5minutes. I had to half-chase him all the way to wherever he's going, for my answers. Thinking back, it got me kinda irritated. Isnt the doctor's responsibility to explain to the patient what is her condition, how it happened and what to avoid in the future? I'm not expecting him to sit down for half an hour with me, just 10-15minutes.

Since it was already the evening, I decided to stay for the night since the hospital charges wards just like any hotel charge their rooms; i.e, full day is charged so long so it's after 12pm(check-out time). Might as well I have my dinner and morning breakfast before I leave.

Here's my dinner. Black pepper chicken with butter rice. Very yummy!

I got hungry around 11pm again and sadly, they dont provide supper, not even paid ones. =( The cafe located at level 1 had closed way before, but thank god for this!

Warm, toasted sandwich! The poster said chicken but it turned out to be tuna instead. Although the vege in the sandwich wasnt very fresh, it was very yummy. Perhaps warm food simply tastes great to any starving people. Ice milo from drinks dispenser.

Next morning
I had pork porridge. Very delicious. =) It was another hassle to discharge. We had to queue for payment, yes, I understand that it's necessary. But imagine almost everyone have questions for their bills..."What is this extra charge about? What is this miscellaneous thing?" etc etc. It really drags the time. I dont have much to ask as seriously, there's nothing much you can debate about a medical bill, is there? Anyway, my insurance can cover everything. I did, however, requested for a more detailed bill which will only be printed at request, at no charges.

After which, dearie went to the pharmacy to queue for my medicine, which was actually pretty quick. Was prescribed antio-biotics which always turn me into jelly...but despite having finished all, I'm still having the chest pains occasionally. Hmmm........the date for follow-up has been set by Dr Chong, mid July.

I'm still contemplating whether to consult him further.

Firstly, I dont have good impression of Mt E doctors because a dear friend of mine kanna chopped dearly by 1 of them before, i.e, a normal scan of market rate S$200 was being mark-up to S$800.

Secondly, since all my records were at Mt Alvernia, I prefer a Mt Alvernia doctor.

Thirdly, although the scope/coloscopy tests were done excellently with no negative aftermath, I dont particularly admire Dr Chong's offhanded attitude and disclosure to me for my conditions.

The total bill came up to S$5K+. Both dearie and me were slightly shocked for a mere 2 days stay, 2 invasive surgeries and 1 scan. Not to mention the service, environment were merely fine.

Reviews of Mt Alvernia/Things to note
1) Nurses' call are attended very promptly, in less than 5minutes, even after past midnight. In comparison to government hospitals like NUH who only come around 45minutes. Sometimes, they dont even come even when you're dying in pain.

2) Doctors are more easily contactable as the nurses can call them and allow you to speak to them. Unlike government hospitals, you can only wait and guess. Sometimes, you dont even get to see your doctor after you discharged and you dont know wtf happen to you at all.

3) Food is good and has a wide array to choose from. This is important to me. Haha! Food were being served lukewarm too. No suppers though!

4) Cleanliness of rooms differ from room to room!

5) I cant comment on Mt Alvernia doctors as Dr Chong is from Mt E. To give him credit, the scope and coloscopy were nicely done. Though again, I also dont know whether are all Mt Alvernia doctors like him, who dont care to spare a 5-10minutes to answer his patients' questions properly.

Lastly, thanks to dearie for accompanying me most of the time, throttling back and forth from home. =) Thanks to all my friends who had expressed concerns in their many many ways. Actually, I'm rather surprised. For some friends whom I thought will care more, actually cared less. For some friends whom I thought dont really care, actually care more. Haha~ Of course there are also friends who really care for me, just as much as I thought, and just as much as I care for them. =D You do have to understand some friends are simply more caring by nature than others. Dearie, for one, have little words of concern to offer but he shows all his care by actions; i.e, accompanying me for hours, bringing me everything I want, do every little thing for me when I'm sick. I guess most guys are like that bah. =P

Admitted to Mt Alvernia

Sorry for the absence. I was hospitalized since from 15th - 17th June at Mt Alvernia.

Why?

I've been having this consistent chest pain which I grumbled everyday. While it's not that painful where I will roll about in bed like when I was having menstrual cramps, it's still a pain which bothers me everyday. Everyday! It started last year before July. I did consulted GP few times but I was merely given medicine to unblock air-way, asthma as well as painkillers. That's because I mentioned the pains started when my nose started to get blocked every night till I had difficulties in breathing. I breathed harder and harder which resulted in chest pains.

The most horrible episode was in July 2010, which scored 9 out of 10 on my pain-o-meter. It felt as if my heart was being constricted. It was detailed in here. Thank god for blogging, else I didnt really realize the chest pains started so long ago. I sucks at remembering events and has a poor judgement of periods.

The doc at Mt Alvernia prescribed me painkillers but it's not strong enough. The pain only totally subsided 3-4hours later. Subsequently, I still have chest pains now and then, mostly on a scale of 3 to 4. As time goes by, it became more and more frequent, more and more painful, on a scale of 5-7. I consulted docs at Mt Alvernia again, detailed here. This time, stronger painkillers were given and I had bliss for 1.5weeks or so. Dr Yam said it might be because of misalignment of muscles in chest, hence I was told to go back a week later to let him re-align. I went back, experienced hell of a lot of pain, still, chest pains came back.

I knew I have no choice but to admit for tests and check-ups to find out what's wrong. But I held it back despite dearie's constant nagging. Apart from this irritating chest pains, I also experienced stomach pains frequently after meals. And diarrhea everytime I had spicy food. Last tues(eve of admission), I had it again and it was pretty bad. It could not have been a case of food poisoning because it's quite low chance that I have food poisoning every 3 days. So, I told dearie it's high time I admit to Mt Alvernia to get everything checked all at 1 go.

Comments: I love this show. Very funny and entertaining. While the story is crossing the line of the friendship loyalty, I took it with a pinch of salt because the flick was filmed in a light-hearted, funny way, and of course because, it's a movie only lah. I dont know what will I do if I'm in Rachel's shoes, but, I know I will try very hard not to do the things she did. I know, I wont like it if it's being done to me.

Take a few seconds to imagine yourself being the one who will be hurt by your own actions, it might just stop you from doing the things which you know will hurt the one you love/who loves you. =)

Comments: Ahhhhh.............you can skip this. The plot is super boring, makes no sense. Director did a bad job, scenes was being executed in the most mundane way. Not one bit of excitement in the whole show. The whole story is about a kidnap, but at the very beginning, it showed the victim was already dead. Talk about suspense, duhz! In addition, this show features the world's silliest kidnapper, who choose to defend his pride by coming out to fight someone who told him clearly that he wanted his life, AFTER he got the ransom and killed his victim. Stupidity has no cure, that's why he died. Seriously, something is wrong with the scriptwriter! This is not the way to give a story a twist!

Reviews of Shin Kushiya, The Wine Company, St James Food Market

Had a wonderful day out with dearie yesterday(Sat). It's quite a impromptu mini planning by me and we had a great day. =) Am going to do some food reviews and movie reviews. =)

I planned to bring Dearie to The Wine Company at Sentosa Broadwalk because of the nice ambiance, nice food and service which we had the last time I was there with Suan and Gra. What's a better idea to end off the night with a movie at Vivo so that the alcohol will be diffused from his body? No drink and drive! The only bad point which comes with driving. =P It was a super crowded Saturday night out and dearie suggest dinner at Shin Kushiya. He said he had a few nice dishes there the last time with a friend and I thought why not. I did mentioned I had the charcoal BBQ buffet there eons ago and it was veryyyy bad. Not only it was expensive, the meat were bland and tough. However, I was willing to give it a second try since it had no queue and I hate to wait.

Once again, I was disappointed. And being the short-and-hot-tempered me, I got a little annoyed. Why? Ok, we ordered a assorted tempura and salmon sashimi set, complete with chawanmushi, tofu, salad, soup and dessert of the day(cheesecake), priced at around $25 and also a Gindara(grilled codfish with teriyaki) with an extra bowl of rice to share.

I got, frankly speaking, kinda shocked I saw how badly sliced the salmon are. They were like severely uneven, thus making it thick and chunky. A total of 4 "slices". 2 giant tempura prawns which were decent. But the chawanmushi, oh...the moment I put them into my mouth, they simply melt in my mouth. (=.=)''' It's like, I'm eating nothing. Not to mention, I have to deal with the very fishy smell at the bottom of the chawanmushi.

Next up, the Gindara. Again, it got me pretty riled up. Priced at $17+, I expect it to be decently presented, I dont dream it to be a big slice as it's afterall, codfish. But, my appetite was quite doused when it was presented in 2 pieces. It was a small, thick piece(like 3cm by 8cm) around 1cm thick, accompanied by another chunk, around 2.5cm by 2.5cm. And it's not nice at all, simply too "nua".

And I thought I have something to look forward to, since there's still a dessert. Imagine my wrath when the 2.5cm by 2.5cm "tofu" I saw was actually the cheesecake! Hell, I would be super grateful if I'm starved for 3 days lor! I dont expect it to be shared of course but seriously that minute size was very offensive! Might as well dont give. I rather them not to include dessert in the set than to give such a miserable piece! I'm not a kitten okie~

Requested for mayonnaise but it never came. The bill came pretty promptly though.

The bill came up to around $56, one of the most unworthy dinner I had.

Went Daiso to stock up my daily eyelash fix and then we went to the alfresco deck for the view and we caught the fireworks just on time. =D After it ended, we walked along Sentosa Broadwalk to The Wine Company. It was a beautiful sight. Stepping on smooth slabs of wooden flooring with the sea beside us and lovely view, with so many blissful and happy couples and families around us, I told dearie that these are one of the things I dont mind paying with my tax. Because it gives ALL Singaporeans simple pleasures. Everyone can go there via public transport and a mere Barcardi freezer from the 7-11 and wonderful company can make a memorable day. =)

We slowly strolled to The Wine Company and we chose indoor seating. It wasnt very crowded, which was great. Was very happy with a good service rendered though it will be perfect if the waitress serving us has more knowledge in wine. I wished I can order the sausage platter which was fantastic the last time I had with Kel and Jy at Dempsey. But dearie wasnt hungry and I had to settle with Salt & Pepper Squid. Very yummy!! Wished it was a bigger portion though. Dearie kept saying he wont eat a single bit, ended up also eat a significant portion lor. As a result, I wasnt full at all and was like half-past-six. Arghhh! We had a Rivendell Sauvignon Blanc from Australia and it was not bad. Around 1.5hours later then we left for movie at Vivo.

Movie: Ladda Land

Comments: I was hoping for more because the movies mentioned produced by the same studio are good, especially "Coming Soon". It was not bad...with some horror scenes here and there. But I'm a very "plot" person and I simply hate movies which made me cry like a puppy. This is more like a touching movie than a horror flick. No twist or plot whatsoever, it's just a case of restless spirits floating around and bothering anyone who bother them. =/ Sad ending too.

After the movie, I was a little hungry so we went over to the alfresco food hawker(Food Republic) at St James. If you haven know, much of the carpark space was converted into it. Dearie wasnt very hungry(again) so I didnt order alot. He hor, always say he's not very hungry but in the end, always eat quite a significant portion which ultimately deprived me of total satisfaction. =P

Great texture, crispy skin with tender meat. However, I got alittle perplexed as the meat was rather tasteless, unless you dipped in the nice and sweet-onions chilli. The sambal was alittle spicy but also kinda tasteless. For the price, it was considered a large piece.

-Gon Gon ($10)
Mild taste, so you have to dip into the chilli, which was different from the one for stingray. It's my first time trying to dig out the meat myself. It's a chore! =P But I guess, I'll prefer to try order la la next time round. I like more flavorful dishes.

Initially I was pleasantly surprised! Finally I dont have to go all the way into JB to have it. Sadly, it was a letdown! I ordered long beans, mushrooms, enoki, quail eggs and they're all tasteless. They gave sauces as well as chilli but they're not nice. What's worse, the mushrooms, which were supposed to be a tad crispy and salty(like those from JB), was totally soggy from all the oil. Yucks. I know all these junk food are oily la but they should be at least fried well! Obviously the oil wasnt hot enough, thus the soggy food. So sad.

For drinks, I love the longan drink which was brown in colour. The longans were tasty. =)

Crazy Rainy Season

I'm soOOo tired! It's already 5+ in the morning but I dont bear to sleep yet. Sleeping is such a waste of time. I have so many stuff I wanna do. =P

Going to update my marvelous week. If you have a super lousy memory like me, it's good to keep a blog as a recording of events. Sometimes I read back my old entries, no matter it's about happy times of me and dearie, or the wonderful times with my friends or my friends' happy occasions like weddings/baby showers etc, they always make me smile. Taking pictures are just not enough. You'll realize sometimes you cant remember where you took them. Videos are much better at capturing those moments nowadays but do remember to sayyyy something in the videos too!

Last Wed I had a mini clubbing night at Zouk with Tracy. From 11pm - 2+am. Perhaps because I had so much fun the last time I was there, I thought I can relive those moments with Iv and gang. Too bad the others werent free. =( Tracy was a sport and yes, we went Zouk! I understand that some friends have commitments and simply cant do impromptu but hey really, spontaneity can be SO MUCH FUN! Seriously, try that sometime. =) We only live once!

I remembered there was once where I dragged dearie to Sentosa Waterworld/butterfly park with me when we were merely shopping in Vivo. That look on his face was c l a s s i c. He was like, "Are you crazy/serious?" Sometimes he can be so gu-niang that I buay tahan. =P Anyway, that time we were still pator-ing in the honeymoon period, so he obliged. If it's NOW, hng! Fat hope lah! I begged him 2 years, 2 years okieeeeeeeeeeee, to bring me to the zoo and he only did it last year during my birthday. I'm among the few among my friends who havent been to Universal Studio and hmm...I bet it will take another 3 years before he'll take me. Hopefully 1 day my friends can organize. =) I dont really like to drag dearie to accompany me to do things he dont really like, unless I have no choice. And I realized...I'm spoiling him big time. In fact, he's already spoilt. =(

Anyway, back to the Zouk night. That night was unbelievable! Just before I was out of my house, it began to rain like it haven been raining forever. REALLY!! The pattering of the raindrops was so loud that it roared in my ears. I dont wish to carry an umbrella so I took a longer route to another taxi stand so that I was fully sheltered. Expected, there was a long queue, surprisingly comprising of all the china and bangladesh workers. Nevermind, so I waited. When it was my turn, with the cab just right infront of me(perhaps 80cm?), I opened the door and hopped in. But guess what, I was drenched from top to bottom in that mere 2 seconds!! I almost cant believe it! What's wrong with the design of the taxi stand(at mrt)? It's freaking stupid lor! Got shelter is no difference from no shelter at all.

I was going, "Oh my god oh my god oh my god!!" in the cab. And the taxi passenger seats were flooded with water. The cab driver passed me tissue as well as cloth to wipe the seats. I was dripping wet and was soaked through my underwear lor. Thank god my strapless bra werent padded while they might just collapsed from the weight of the water being absorbed lor. Thank god I wasnt on AV too, else the water dripping from me might be red too. And I'm not being funny or cheeky okie~ It's really that bad. After a long journey(felt like forever to me), I finally reached Zouk.

The cab driver said, "Haha here not even a drop of rain! You see, the road is so dry."

I replied, "Ya, precisely the more I look like an idiot here."

Cab driver: "Ah..ha..ha.."

Aiya, I was a "rare sight" lah as everyone turned to look at a drenched duckling. I had to curb myself from running to the toilet. And damn, I visited ALL the toilets in Zouk and not 1 has a dryer!!! I was wearing this long tunic which reached my mid-thigh with safety shorts and because the safety shorts was so drenched, I have to take them off. I had to worry that I "run light" and was so uncomfortable for the entire night. The rest of me dried up after half an hour or so but the ends of the tunic was still kinda wet when Tracy arrived. Argghhhh~ My only consolation was I wasnt wearing mascara and my fake eyelashes didnt drop. Hahaha. However, with such a sucky beginning, I never thought I can have so much fun later in the night. Met tracy's friends and they were a funny bunch.

Also clubbed yesterday(fri) at Dragonfly with Iv and gang.

Usually I seldom club and dearie asked me why I clubbed more than once this week. I simply dont have any specific or real reason.

Comments: Hmm....I dont understand the craze over the Hangover movies, the movie was completely sold! Apparently, all the men love it...and since dearie is one of them, I caught it with him. Despite some of the jokes and scenes....makes me go..."omfg..."......I was very entertained and had alot of laughs. I would say it's more entertaining than part 1. So to all Hangover fans, yes it's worth a catch.

Comments: While the refreshing idea of mutants having different kinds of power may kind of wear off for a old X-men fan like me, the prequel is a brilliant idea of sparking new interests. The story was concocted nicely as everything falls into place. It feels great when understanding dawned as to why X-men became who they are and who they represents. I particularly like the charming Professor X, Charles(starred by James McAvoy) in the movie, brilliant, kind and gentle. =) Do kindly excuse the young actors and actresses for their inexperience in acting though.

St James + Four Seasons + Dim sum brunch + KTV + Sukiyaki Buffet Dinner

After Qi's bachelorette Party, I cabbed down to St James to find the gang, Iv, Ed, Ja, Cel and her sis, Zan. Ahh...pardon me...but I forgotten where I joined them. Bleh! But it's the 2nd storey where there's ktv. Never knew St James got chill room with ktv! Anyway, St James is just like a maze to me. They can always run here run there in between clubs but definitely not me. I will lose track of where I am. =P

Thanks lor, to the ultra short and ugly fringe, I'm 独眼龙 in most pictures.

Anyway, if my memory didnt fail me, we didnt stay very long. Sang a few songs, played games, finished the half bottle of Hennessy and then off we go on our way to Four Seasons hotel for round 2! Ja had a free hotel stay. =D We tabao so much food from the hawkers infront of St James back to the hotel to eat. It was awesomeeeeeeee! The wonderful room, the comfy bed and the humongous toilet!!

Actually hor.....I also dont really remember much...haha. Memory fail. Ah..I just remembered I laughed so much until I lost my voice. Yes! I lost my voice!! How can it be right? Really dont understand. Maybe laughed too much or too loud. Muahahahaha! As usual, Iv was like the last one standing while all of us K.O. He then pestered each and everyone of us to play 5-10 with him...and then find excuse to make us drink. (=.=)''''''''''''''''''''''''' Ohhhhh and I vaguely remembered because Ed adamantly refused to drink despite losing, Iv began to strip him instead! Muahahahaha! Became strip-5-10 game. Hahaha. I was in a state of in between dreaming and reality so everything seemed so blur to me. I did puke once, and then went back to sleep. =P

Butterflies in the stomach the next morning but I persevered! Woke up to bathe and everything, checked out at 12+ which was freaking early to me. Ed left for home while the rest of us cabbed down to Asia Grand at Odeon Tower for favorite dim sum. Waited for a long half hour before we were seated because it was freaking crowded. Glad the food came quickly and did not disappoint. Yummy! It's around S$18nett per pax with ala carte. No pictures hor, because I'm not 100% sober. Hur hur~

We then adjourned to Marina Square for KTV at Kbox and sang till 7pm. Cel left after the ktv, thus left the 3 of us to have dinner at Sukiya(Marina Square center stage #02-138F) for Shabu-Shabu + Sukiyaki buffet. It was fanta-bulous!!! I've never eaten nice Shabu-Shabu and Sukiyaki(except in Tokyo and Taiwan) in Singapore so it really came as a great surprise. Free flow of meat(Chicken/beef/pork) plus other vege/toufu etc with no drinks. I'm not sure whether you can only choose 1 meat as there were 3 of us so basically we tried all.

The chicken came as surprisingly good and not inferior to the beef at all because it was sliced so thinly. Thumbs up! The Sukiyaki broth was real tasty. I really cant give a fair rating of the Shabu-Shabu broth because stupid Iv went to put those big, bulky, brown mushrooms in the broth.

"Dont put mushroomsssss! It will spoil the taste of the soup!!" I exclaimed!

"Will meh? Wont lah. Mushroom only mah." Iv said.

"Arrghhhhhh!! Okie then you put into 1 type of soup will do! Dont put both!" =P

In the end, we all consumed more of the Sukiyaki. The Shabu-shabu broth became weird werid loh, got the smelly mushroom taste. =X Anyway, even after more soup were added, it still doesnt taste as nice as the Sukiyaki. =P

I'm missing the buffet already. Will definitely go back! It's around $30 nett(Sat dinner) with an order of hot green tea.

Reached home at 9+pm. It had been a long time since I'm so shagged out! I have a feeling I've gained just 3 kg in just these 2 days. =(

Yeast infection in dogs - flaking, itchy, sticky skin conditions

Vickki says "Hi!!"

For years, Vickki has been bothered by serious flaking, itchy, sticky skin. It's so bad that sometimes she can scratch her body till it's so red and hinted of bleeding. On top of that, she stinks no matter how frequent I bathe her, partly because she can never stop licking her itchy body. And when she licks her body, it made her sticky and prone to bacteria too. My heart aches for her so much. =( Although she's still as lively and happy as ever jumping around like a devil, I know she's not comfortable at all. Because of her skin conditions, she also makes the flooring extremely dirty and sticky. I had to vacuum and mop everyday. It was very tiring. I had no choice but to confine her to my kitchen(which is not small) just to reduce my household workload.

Friends have always expressed sympathy seeing me confining her to the kitchen. And everytime I have to repeat the same old story above. It's really not my wish. They also ask me did I bring her to see the vet. I did.

I bought her to 3 different clinics and consulted a total of 5 vets. But everytime after a few weeks, the same problem will surface again. The root of the problem was never solved.

All of them prescribed anti-biotics. Some said, she might be allergic to her shampoo and conditioner, thus changed all her bathing necessities. Some said, she might be allergic to the food I gave her, thus changed her dry food to a special kind from Science Diet. But everytime, there's no significant improvement. I've spent a total of around $800 for all these consultations and medications.

One day, the boss of a pet styling hub/pet store, Eric, personally delivered Vickki to my doorstep. I've sent Vickki to him for full grooming and opted transport($40 only by the way). He chose to personally deliver Vickki just to tell me Vickki was infected with yeast infection and to propose a solution.

He sounded very confident because his dogs were once infected too. The way he described the symptoms were totally similar to Vickki. Like me, he also spent a huge amount and didnt see any improvement. Until 1 day, he finally met a very ethical vet who told him anti-biotics can only suppress the yeast in the pet's body for a limited period of time. It will never solve the root of the problem. The only way is to detox their body of yeast and when these yeast surfaced to the skin, use a potent cream to kill the yeast.

I was willing to try anything. So I bought a bottle of yeast detox and the mentioned cream from Eric.

1) Azmira Yeast & Fungal Detox (S$41.80)
Holistic Animal Care
2) Ecocort Cream (S$12)
3) Kodomo baby powder

Steps:
1) Control their diet
Pets with yeast infection cant take grains, starch, carrots, potato and any starchy food. Meaning, they cant take bread, rice, pasta etc. Avoid chicken. A raw diet, consisting of purely meat, especially fish like salmon will be great for their skin. However, if you find that is too expensive and troublesome to cook everyday, opt for grain-free dry dog food like "Taste of the Wild" and "Orijen". Do note treats shouldnt contain the mentioned ingredients too.

2) For small breeds like mine, shih tzu of around 5 kg, their dosage is 1 full syringe of the Azmira Yeast & fungal detox. According to the instructions, you can mix them with some water and feed them orally. But seriously, the liquid stinks and I have no way of feeding Vickki. Therefore I mixed them(without water) into her meat diet, consisting of canned lamb meat which is her favorite. I feed her once per day for dinner and most of the time, I let her eat grain-free dry dog food when I'm working.

3) Apply Ecocort cream to areas with yeast infection. It will definitely be a tad sticky even after rubbing into the skin. Therefore I use Kodomo baby powder to pat over her body to keep her dry and comfy. I apply once per day too. I suppose you can try twice if condition is really bad and subsequently reduce it.

Additional notes:
I dont think shampoo matters that much but still, use a mild and moisturizing shampoo. You ask ask me for recommendations. Bathe her when necessary. When I mean "when necessary", it means whenever her skin is very bad, red and sticky or when she stinks real badly. Vets always advise bathing dogs every week but actually dogs with serious yeast infection cant go unbathed for so long. Every 3-4 days they need a bath. You can reduce the frequency when condition improves.

Keep the environment clean too. On top of that, keep their fur coat short so that cream can reach the infected areas easier.

Ahh....if you find them ugly when botak, you can ask the groomer to merely trim the head but shave the rest. That's what I always do. =) This pic made her look slim! She's actually not that slim. Haha.

Repeat Step 1 to 3 till condition improves.

It has been around 2-3months and Vickki's conditions have improved tremendously. She stopped scratching and licking her body that frequently(only occasionally), her skin stopped being flaky, sticky and red. She stopped being stinky that quickly. Her obvious yeast infection rashes have started to disappear and much lightened. Merely left some near her underarms. Of course, now she has the run of the house which made her super happy. Except the master-room that is. =D

It used to be so much worse, with much more and darker patches.

I have to say just 1 bottle of detox or cream is not enough. I'm onto my 2nd.
Very glad to see her condition improved so much. Even my neighbour who loves her to bits noticed it.

I hope this post has helped distraught dog owners with same problems like mine. I understood totally. Dont worry, they can recover and not at a huge cost. =) And I've stopped trusting vets. No way! How come not 1 of those 5 vets mentioned "Yeast Infection" to me?? They merely mentioned "allergy". Dammit. I was so clueless, but also cant blame me mah, I'm also not a vet. =P

Do comment if you see similar Yeast Detox which are priced cheaper! I've searched Pet Lovers Central and many others but couldnt find them at all. =)

Qi's Bachelorette Party!

Last Saturday 28th May was Qi's bachelorette party! Or so call, hen's night we call it. =) The pretty bride-to-be is going to get hitched on 12th Jun with his 10+years love, Kel who is my dear colleague. =) Dear Angi organized a hen's night in her honour so it's strictly girl's night out! There were 6 of us having dinner together at Wangz Hotel, after which 3 more joined us at M hotel for drinks. I only know Qi, Angi and Oli though. However, they were all a friendly, fun-loving and gorgeous bunch. =) I laughed so much when the sabo started at M hotel. Haha! I'll let the pictures tell the story since I spent some time organizing it. =P

With the gorgeous bride-to-be, Qi! She does look like Jeanette Aw(欧萱) right??!!

And guess what, with her looks and family background all that, she's such a humble, sweet and nice person! It's like, erm, people like her makes you wonder, "Wow, the world actually got 十全十美的人??!! And she's a vegetarian somemore. Totally win liao right? Lol!

Ah, then you see Angi posing with her new Samsung camera right? Wah piangz, for the whole night she's fumbling with her camera because somehow the pictures turned out blur! And everytime, after she tweaked here tweaked there(the mode or something) and took pictures, she will try to convinceeeee us that they're nice when they're actually blur! *faint* But thankfully, I think towards the end of the night(at M hotel), she finally got it right lah. Heng ah, arbo her upcoming Athen's trip(flight is the very next day) pictures will all be blur.

It's my first time having dinner at Wangz Hotel, hmm...and I'm not impressed. Firstly, everytime a new friend joined us, I had to keep remind the waitress to serve ice water as well as re-filling the rest. I got alittle "arggghhh" when I requested the 3rd or 4th time. We were chit-chatting pretty busily so drank alot of water lah. Next, the food took ages(ard 45mins) to come and my aglio olio was a tad disappointing for me. Actually the prices were pretty low for a hotel(my aglio olio costs S$18++) but I rather take that money and go TCC to have their Seafood Pasta lah. The latter tastes so much better.

We finished our dinner at around 10.30pm and adjourned to M hotel, J bar for drinks. It's Saturday and they have this ladies night free flow of champagne, wine and martinis at S$25. Ahhhh.....called to mind that "fateful night" with Rain. =X By the time we reached M hotel, it's also around the time where dearie left the house for the airport. He's going Athens for 6 days. =)
In a way I'm glad he set off that very day because I know I wont be going home that night. Iv and gang had this free hotel stay at Four Seasons and I'm joining them after Qi's party. =)

With notti Angi, the brains behind the sabo game~

Poor Angi was actually pretty sick and insisted on coming after dumping pills so she did not drink at all. The champagne was okie(not a fan of bubbly drinks), red wine was bad, white wine was great. She lovingly prepared a plain white T-shirt, rhinestoned with the word "bride" and made Qi wear it. =)

We're supposed to apply this sinfully red lipstick that made us look like ghost/gei-sha and then kissed her on anyyyyyy part of the T-shirt. Qi is a sport, she joined us by applying the crimson red lipstick too! We too wrote our wishes on the T-shirt. =)

It became hilarious as we all started to "attack" anywhereeeeee on her body. Muahahaha! See the lipstick marks on her twin peaks. *ROFL*

In front no space liao, Oli and me 从后面来!! Wahahahaha!

We all had alot fun. It's too bad I got to leave early around 12.30am because Iv and gang were already in St James since 10+pm. =X I was very very late. I heard Qi got drunk though! Lol. Must get the juicy details from Angi soon.

Here's wishing Kel and Qi a very happy, blissful and sweet marriage forever and ever!!! Cya both on 12th Jun, which is very soon! =D

Jason's Birthday

Lovely night out with the gang with plenty of drinks and games, in celebration of Jason's birthday on 23rd May! Jason, Iv, Cel, Jov, Ed, Ken and wifey, Leng. It's my first time meeting Leng, however we hit it off very well. =) Then I realized both of us are leos. Hee! Trac meant to join but somehow got cropped up with stuff. Very happy to see all of them. =D Everyone is busy and I'm very glad we can all come together year after year to celebrate each other's birthday. It will be my wish that we can all stay as close knitted no matter we're at which life stage, single/married/with kids etc. Kudos to mummies like Cel and Jov. Appreciate their hubbies' kind understanding too. =D

Oh Jov left slightly earlier before we started to take pictures. Nevermind, next time! =D

Lately, I've been having lots of fun creating lookbooks at sheshops.com

It strucked me as a very atas kind of shopping community or rather, shopping paradise, because not only designer labels and exclusive limited editions items are being sold there, you get to enjoy all the fun creating lookbooks using different items from everyone's closets. From there, you get to know more like-minded individuals, with different sense of styles as well as get inspirations from all the lookbooks being posted up. You can socialize, drop comments on their walls etc. =)

Most of the items are for sale. You can simply shop in the community or click on the items on any lookbooks and get directed to the link immediately. It's so easy.

I got to know some very nice friends too! They're so friendly, helpful and nice. =) There are contests held regularly as well. Homemade Osmanthus Jelly & Wonderful Custard buns

*Yawnz* I dont think I have the time to transfer any old entries from the old blog at all from wordpress. The buzzing weekend had passed in a breeze. I still have quite a number of pictures pending as well as events to blog. And I'm so freaking tired! Will blog about the past weekend's events soon.

Tonight is the first night that dearie is not sleeping beside me ever since we shifted to our own house. I'm glad Vickki is around to accompany me. But wow...it's simply a different feeling when the house is empty because hubby is out at work OR because he's simply not in the country for a few days. The feeling is different.... No wonder Hui said she felt unbearable when her hubby was overseas at work for months, facing an empty house. I bet I cant even stand few weeks. The only consolation is perhaps I can have the whole bed to myself and I can sing to my heart's content anytime. Muahahaha~

Yummy home-made Osmanthus Jelly! =D

Check out my pretty tissue box! Hee! Bought from a stall at Toa Payoh Central at $9. Suits my pretty side table to a T isnt it? =D

I'm a lover of osmanthus in terms of smell and taste but it's not readily available in Singapore. I've tried finding in local chinese shops like Fu Hua but nobody has it. Therefore imagine my glee when I saw a stall selling it at Sembawang, Sun Plaza level 1.

Arkon, Coral Seaweed Jelly (Product of Taiwan)

They're other flavours too. And the nice lady boss even passed me an A4 size paper with all it's benefits. Heard there's plenty of minerals, collagen, etc in it. I dont really care, haha, most importantly must be nice to eat. =P It's 100% vegetarian too by the way.

It's super easy to make. This is the smaller pack priced at $13(pretty pricey hor) and it has 9 cubes inside. Each cube can make 2.5 bowls like the one above.

Simply boil 1 cube with 500ml(normal mineral water bottle) of water till it totally dissolves. Let it cool for few minutes before pouring into bowls or moulds which you deem fit.
Chill in fridge(not freezer) for a couple of hours and you're done! The amazing thing is, even if you chilled it for more than a day, the texture stays the same and will not harden. Ahh...of course I cant guarantee the same if you keep it inside your fridge for 30 days la.

Garnish with longans if you want. =D But personally feel they taste better alone! The texture is really wonderful and the level of sweetness suits me just right. Chilled desserts like these are great for hot days! =D

I use a frying pan of diameter 30cm to boil at medium fire over 5-10minutes(so that it's faster). Do note if you put lesser water than 500ml or boil them longer than needed, the jelly will be firmer and sweeter. You can add more water if you prefer them to be less sweet and softer.

This is my love. I can eat 2 everyday for consecutive 3 days and dont feel sick at all. =)
Therefore dearie usually buy in dozens as we both love it very much. Generous fillings most of the time, not too sweet too! Priced at $1.50 each and every 5 free 1 after 9pm. Warning though, sometimes they closed shop at 9pm. Best served chilled!

Actually I saw similar looking custard buns at The Icing Room at Jurong Point. They're priced slightly cheaper when you buy in pairs but I'm not sure they taste the same. Will try soon.

Actually posting pictures at blogger also posed some problems. I realised when I upload them, they simply appear far smaller than they should, despite having chosen the biggest size. I have to upload them at Flickr first. But...I think at least the pictures are sharper than those in wordpress. =) Anyway, like my new blog layout? =) Will add more stuff in time. =P

Oh yes. Finally I had enough of wordpress blur pictures that I've once again, decided to change a blogging platform. I cant possibly let my crisp pictures by my precious Lumix put to waste, right?
I did online research about pictures appearing blurry though. However, I can only find solutions(which work) for blogger but not for wordpress. Else, they're far too troublesome or complicated for an IT idiot like me to comprehend. Somehow, blogger entries can be exported to wordpress but it's very difficult for the vice versa. So..see how...perhaps I'll shift few entries day by day if I have the time...or I'll just transfer the more significant entries(like events etc)

Okie. Hear from me soon. Gotta tweak a new blog layout, design and everything. I like this part though. Heez.
