Came across this very interesting tag from Jen's blog, which reads the 7 deadly sins of beauty. Sounds quite sinfully alluring huh? It actually consists of 7 questions, asking you how the individual sins like Greed, Lust, Sloth etc reminds you of which beauty product, particularly products which you love of course. It's pretty intriguing and interesting!
1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
And I thought I do one too. =) My answers might not be entirely accurate since I have a lousy memory(especially to prices) but hell, let's do it. I will probably have more than 1 answer to 1 question because very often, more than 1 answer popped up in my head at the SAME time. =P
1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
Haha! My most inexpensive beauty item must be my falsies. I'm super stingy when it comes to falsies because they're so perishable. I bought bulk from Japan Daiso which costs around S$0.70-$1.70 per pair while those in Sg Daiso costs $2. Hmm, boxes of 10 pairs are also pretty cheap from Bangkok and Taiwan. They are really good enough for me. I simply use 2 pairs if I want more volume.
Another 2 items which popped up in my head at the same time are: o2 skin's eye shadows and Etude house Proof 10 black liquid eye-liner.
o2 skin is the sister company of Bio-skin, and if you can remember, they(o2) once had an advert by Tank. Not a very popular brand, and only a few individual booths in Sg, and prices are dirt-cheap. I was initially very skeptical too so I only bought 2 eye-shadows, a rose-gold and moss green colour from them once when I was at AMK hub. Probably around S$10 or lesser. But wow, the colours are simply gorgeous and so pigmented that a little goes a long way. It's lasting power is pretty good and outstanding when applied after Urban Decay primer potion. But aiyo, they're so ulu that I cant even find their website or a proper picture. Here's 1 picture of the eye-shadows which I mentioned. One con though, they're pretty fragile and can break easily if you dropped them and the packaging isnt very secure.
I dont think I need to introduce Etude house, a popular Korean brand further. Although many of you will know Etude is so much cheaper in Korea. =) However, I bought the Proof 10 black liquid eye-liner on a friend's recommendation when we were shopping in JB and it's like only S$10+ during a sale or something. Amazingly, it's like the most resistant liquid eye-liner I've ever used. Can you imagine it survived a 6 hours shopping in Chatuchuk in the most horrible summer weather? No smudges, no nothing, even without primer. It simply stays perfect, admist sweat la, oil la etc. I only had eye-liner on without any makeup for my last Bangkok trip. Time was simply too precious for shopping to be wasted on applying makeup. Haha!
As for the most expensive beauty product I have, it would be the stupid SK2 pitera essence as well as it's Cellumination essense, which simply gives me NOTHING except break-outs. DUhz!! Anyway, I couldnt call to mind any specific one product which is really expensive(I dont think I have). I supposed....the more costly products I have are perfumes....say....my Chanel No.5, Calèche by Hermès and Incanto by Salvatore Ferragamo etc.
Chanel No.5 was my favorite before I got to know about Ferragamo's Incanto(will be mentioned more later)... In any case, Chanel No.5 is a very very alluring and classy scent but the parfum(EdP) was really too heavy on my nose, despite the salesgirl saying how long parfum lasts. I also remembered it has a killer price tag too! So I settled for the Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere, which is a lighter, fresher and softer interpretation of the classic Chanel No. 5
I used to spend alot on re-purchasing the Su Hyang Snow series from TheFaceShop on a bi-monthly basis but stopped after their products gradually lost their effectiveness due to skin's immunity. However, I still have them to thank for my lighter and brighter complexion as compared to the past. I became a shade lighter than I previously was and had to change my foundations/powders because they became too dark for me.
But recently I did spend like around S$200+ on Pupa body products. They're from france and available in SASA. Initially I tried their breast serum on a friend's recommendation who said they're good in firming. After using, I do agree. Erm, in fact it's so effective that I felt...it's not very advisable to use too much on the whole you-know......or to be used too frequently...because ah.....you know when you over-firm something, sometimes it gets smaller...ultimately they're all fats.... *blushed right down to hair roots* Well, I'm sharing here else if anyone uses it and their precious got smaller, then I sure kanna hoot lor.
Anyway, I went back and bought their bottom serums as well as inner arms re-shaping cream. And same thing, I feel the breast and bottom serums should only be used moderately...on perhaps...you know the....the...like....aiya.....for example, for the bottom serums, if you dont wish to reduce the size of your bottom but merely wish to firm them, you can apply them on the butt cheeks instead of the whole bottom. Like wise for breasts. Hope I've made myself clear... Of course if you wish to reduce the size of your wholeeee bottom, then I'll strongly recommend it to be applied on the whole area of course.
The inner arms re-shaping cream works pretty well too. I feel my arms became more toned and kinda slimmed down too. Definitely less flabby. Wahahaha. I do use them on my inner thighs too. Although they do have the inner thigh serum as well.
Hmm.....I definitely prefer breast/bottom serums from The Natural Source, Australia, namely "Better Breasts" and "Better Bottom" serums, for they do an excellent job in firming your assets but will not overly reduce the size of them. Sadly, the Sg branches had closed down. Sigh...............
2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
Like Jen, I also had a love/hate relationship with a product that is discontinued in Singapore. Sigh! It's my favorite fragrance from, Salvatore Ferragamo, Incanto(original). I know there were many new editions in the line of Incanto fragrances, like Shine, Bliss, Heaven etc but my only love is the original Incanto because the other scents were kinda too sweet for me. I think fragrance is a very personal, individual and private thing. Because it simply represents you and reflects your personality. Which is why I dont like scents which are too sweet because I'm far from sweet. Wahahaha. It's an identity. It's like how people get used to being around you, used to your scent. While I'm perfectly okie to anyone using any same product as me, I dont really like people using the same scent as me. Weird huh~
And the most horrible thing to happen to me(other than it's discontinued), it's my dearest hubby actually usurped my favorite fragrance. (=.=)'''''''' Initially, he merely mentioned he loves the scent and asked whether he can use it. I said, of course, go ahead, thinking it was just a one-time thing. Alas, from then on, he began using it everyday. It became his favorite. And it's like.........when we went out, whether it's just us, or with our mutual friends, we simply put on the same scent. Which is..........to me, it's like, I've lost my identity because we both smell the same. ZzzzZzz. He smelled like me and beside him, I felt as if I'm smelling like myself and he probably feels I smell like him too. No identity, no unique-ness you see. I did hinted him to use his own fragrances, like his DKNY green apple, Burberry Body.....but no....he's obsessed with Incanto.
We continued to finish a few of the largest size bottles while I tried my damnest to find another scent which I love..........find a new identity, since mine had been stolen. =P I've tried like hundreds of scents......still......I cant find any....which I feel reflects me. Sigh......Until few months back, I finally found one. =D Though...I think Incanto is still my no. 1 favorite. A truly love and hate affair, for the man I love actually stole my identity. =P Maybe it's possible to find the scent in some private perfume stores or even online, but the point, I can never use it again because my SO is using it. ZzzZzz
And off topic abit, I only got to know this fragrance when a friend bought it for me as a Christmas gift way back in year 2003. Apart from the perfume, he also got the soundtrack from "Love Actually" and a wand which will sparkle at a press of a button. It was very sweet as I merely mentioned I like the last 2 items and he got it for me. We were really good friends then who can chat about anything under the sun anytime anywhere. The sad thing or rather the thing I hate was he avoided me after I said we couldnt be a couple and will be better off as friends. That's it. He simply vanished into thin air after that. I dont understand this thing about guys that why....why cant remain as friends? It must be either girlfriend or stranger? 2 choose 1 and you are forced to choose. What happens to the friendship we shared? I love my friends and I treasure friendships alot alot, but sometimes when this kinda things happen, I really, really, really hate it! Truly a love and hate affair.
Wow! Imagine my relationship with Incanto is 9 years!! Even longer than my relationship with hubby. Haha!
The product which is the hardest to get?
It is the previously mentioned Calèche by Hermès fragrance...being 1 of my most expensive beauty products. As I mentioned I've forgotten how I came across this very unique scent...perhaps through some magazine samples...but I only know it's from Hermès. And so I simply went into the boutique and sniffed every fragrance until I found this unique scent which I adore. Talk about perseverance...haha. But I think not many people will like this scent. Was searching for it's picture when I came across this interesting site which lists the top 10 most expensive perfumes in the world, with Chanel No. 5 in it too. Hmmm......like seriously?? Very interesting....it includes a few brands which I've never heard before.
The first product which comes to mind is Polynia Sakura Wine Pitera Mask, which smells as deliciously as my favorite Rum & Raisin ice-cream!! A very sad thing though, I dont know where can I get it now. I bought my first tub from a spree. It's a great mask where effects can be seen immediately and it's one of the very few masks which reduces pore size effectively. The best part is it contains pitera just like SK2 but only at a fraction of the price. What's more, it doesnt break me out like SK2 does!!
Ok....You must think me irritating for keep mentioning products which are not available anymore. ZzZz Alright. I would think other than naming another delicious product, I'll rather share products which I think can make me, or rather any girl look delicious. Undoubtedly, it will be lip products. My favorites will be Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss in Nude Lustre and Dior Addict Ultra lipgloss in Pink Trench .
The former is a very elegant nudish pink which goes well with every look while the latter is the only baby pink lipgloss which I can wear and dont look funny or feel awkward about it. Because I feel I look weird in pink glosses.... I have naturally rather red lips(when I'm not sick) and it's troublesome to conceal them in order to wear pink lipsticks/glosses. Actually I seldom wear lip products because I dont like my hair sticking to my lip glosses. They dont last anyway after a meal or a mug of beer. Blearh~
But IMHO, the most delicious look a girl can carry is when she's wearing no lip product(makeup too, if you can!) at all! Because you look so ready to be kissed. Lol. Lipglosses and lipsticks can be a turn-off for some guys who actually wants to kiss you. NOT that I dont wear them because I want guys to kiss me okay........*&^%$#%^&*........ but I believed I've made my point. Of course, dry, chapped lips are totally not desirable so do moisturize them regularly with lip balms. My favorite is Nivea Hydro Care. Moisturizes well, not sticky nor heavy...it simply feels like a stream of cool water just quenched your lips. No funny or overly sweet...eeee smell either, just a faint vanilla scent. Looks like you're wearing nothing on your kissable lips. =) Hmm...however, if you have naturally pale lips, I think you can apply abit of lip tint. It looks more natural than lipsticks. =)
4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
Wow!! Seriously I think I can skip everything!! Especially if I'm home late from work, clubbing or mahjiong. I simply remove my makeup, bathe and go straight to bed. In fact, the most important thing which I will never neglect no matter how lazy or tired I am is my bath! Haha. I hardly neglect products due to laziness, perhaps more when I'm rushing for time. When that's the case, usually I'll skip lip products because my lips look kinda red anyway, and also my eye-brows as well as eye-shadows. On the other hand, products which I hardly neglect would be sunblock and sometimes eye-liner. =)
5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
Actually I'm one who prefer to go out with a fresh body. Meaning, a fresh bath, hair newly washed and blow dry, face washed etc. I will be more confident, or rather, more at ease if I head out RIGHT AFTER my bath and after I blow dry my hair. Geez. I'm super, duper uneasy and unconfident if I'm to go out without a fresh bath(a bath of 3hrs ago also cannot!) or with un-fresh hair. No matter how much makeup I had on, if I didnt bathe just right before I head out OR if I didnt wash and blow dry my hair just before I head out, I just wont feel confident. They are my basics. Other than that...eye-liners and falsies will enhance my confidence. =)
6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
Wah...my answer can go on forever. Lol.
Attributes. I must say, mannerisms, gentlemanly behavior, the way a guy carries himself, the way he speaks as well as a sense of witty humor are most attractive. At first impression though, I'm more particular with...haha...hygience and neatness. Like, the guy should have clean hair, smells nice(please no smokey smell), no oily face and dress reasonably smart. He dont need to dress to the nines but at the minimum, not sloppy or messy. Of course, flawless skin and teeth with a great smile will be a plus. Kekeke! =D Hmm.....square jaws are pretty sexy too. Opps~
But if I'm to answer truthfully to the sinful question, a.k.a. Lust, I think a nice but not overly heavy fragrance would be a perfect weapon to incite...not say lust lah...but rather an intriguing interest. Fragrance, is like a cherry on top of a nice package of aura. It's the first and also the last impression you give. So do choose your scent well. =)
7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
Like Jen....the one thing which I have regrets about...is having tiny feet which deters me from buying the shoes I love in the world. She complains about her size 3.5 feet, what should I do about my size 2.5-3 feet then?? Sometimes I cant even fit into some size 3 shoes. Sigh! I cant call to mind anything which I particularly want.....however, I do miss some of my favorite items which are not(easily) available anymore....especially all the above mentioned discontinued products...
Like.....
1) L'occitane's pink rose blusher - Entire makeup line disappeared in Singapore!
2) The Natural Source from Australia - Sg's branches closed down. =(
I love their Daintree's tropical sugarcane miracle body whip...which simply smells heavenly. Simply delicious. Their breasts/bottom serums are also great.
3) Polynia Sakura Wine Pitera Mask
4) Seattle's Chocolates from U.S.......I love the champagne truffles. =(
Hopefully I'm able to get them when I go U.S in June....
5) Lindt's Chocolates from Switzerland....I love the truffles and pralines. =(
I did search for my fave pink box in Singapore but they dont have it. =(((
Those chocolates dont ship to Sg. =( Afraid that they melt too. Omg...I'm talking about chocolates. Super OT.
Anyway, hope you enjoy this super lo-soh post and do leave your link behind if you're sharing your 7 deadly sins of beauty too!! \(^o^)/
thanks for reading too. =)
