HORIBBLE service by GO60 spa, under Mary Chia
I'm SO angry that I stomped it!
Hi Stomp
I'm super pissed after my call to GO60 Spa, under Mary Chia. And hope you can help me to publish this article.
Some time back I purchased deals from Groupon for their services.
I called just now(1st april) to set an appointment for my friend and I on the coming friday 4th April. But was informed they are FULLY BOOKED for APRIL(the voucher expires after 30th April). So the customer service told me I can set appointment on their next slot 5th May, but I said I cant make it because I'm going overseas from 5th to 9th. However on the 10th onwards I can make it. She then said she cant extend that long and said I need to sell my voucher to another person who fits the criteria to use the voucher.
What the?
Today is only the 1st of april, 30 full days before the voucher expiry date. And I'm not fussy with my appointment timing at all because I can do anyday, anytime, including weekday afternoons. BUT they limit me to redeem my voucher only within 5days, unluckily enough to be on the days that I'm going overseas. It's totally not my fault that I'm unable to redeem it. I seriously highly doubt that for 30 FULL DAYS they're so fully booked. Even so, if they really cant handle so many customers, then they shouldnt sell that many vouchers at all.
It's not so much of a big deal that I cant redeem my voucher actually.
I can just cancel and refund and spend my money elsewhere. I can fully understand if they're overwhelmed with redemption appointments because Groupon is so influential.
BUT what pissed me off big time is their customer service! The foreign female customer service who sounded like a Filipino was so rude to me. Her attitude and tone made me wonder am I the customer or is she the customer. It's quite the 1st time that I'm being treated SO RUDELY by a customer service. Really pissed me off big time! For such a spa, free massages I also wont go.
I've emailed Groupon to cancel and refund my monies, currently waiting for reply. I heard alot of bad reviews about Mary Chia's lousy service before, but I thought a new spa by them will be under a new management and perhaps will be better. Too bad it's just not.
Thanks Stomp!

What a F* up Dec 2013 and Helllloooo the brand new 2014!
Dec 2013 was hell for me, I really......dont even know where to start from. Things happened too quickly. Dad's hospitalization came as a shock. It was really devastating to know from the doctor that his serious injuries had caused him a severe stroke and also landed him in a coma. And either he will pass on or he will wake up and be a vegetable. Both scenarios not at all positive. What's more heartbreaking is his injuries...which probably meant he suffered intense pain before he drifted into a coma. I...really dont wish to elaborate all over again because it means getting all the hard and sad feelings back and I'm not a person who loves to dwell over losses, as much as I'm very emotional and compassionate by nature. I pick up, I move on.
But frankly speaking it aint all easy. And I initially thought how hard can it be? Ultimately I haven seen my dad for a long time due to his separation from mum and let's just say we're not at all expressive, typical Singaporeans. I know I love him and I believe he loves me. Despite not exchanging calls or sms, believe it or not, I intend to take care of him after he's retired, just like how I plan for my mum as well. He has always been fit in my memories as he always do manual labour, hardly gets sick, I really never believe something so detrimental will happen to him one day.
I thank my friends for staying by me during this difficult period of time. I'm not one who like to burden friends with my problems and make the whole session gloomy and sorrowful. I simply tried hard not to think about it and enjoy the times with my friends. I was sorry when the dam of tears broke loose after a few rounds of booze though. The more comfort they gave, alas, the more I teared. But instead of feeling what a spoilt sport and literally "wet blanket" I was, they patted me and encouraged me to cry it all out because it'll feel better. Eventually I did, though I did stay away from booze from awhile...
Eventually dad passed on. The funeral and everything...sigh...let's not go into it. Appreciates all my friends and relatives who showed up. Appreciates all the calls and messages. Thanks for all the wreaths and flowers and prayers. It was such a festive month; so many couples had or having weddings, so many couples having baby showers, so many families and friends having gatherings. I do understand if some of you cant come, especially of the "superstitious" issues. No frets. Looking at all my friends' tired faces, some of them just touched down Singapore not long from their overseas trips, some came down after a late night family gathering or wedding dinner, I'm so touched; no words can even describe my gratitude. I know some of my closest friends cant come down due to some reasons and I totally understand. =) I can feel their heart. They say you'll know who are your real friends at a wedding; actually, more so at a wake too. Because more people are willing to share happiness than sorrow. =)
We also had a very fun wonderful Xmas eve pressies exchange party at a friend's house, who are so nice and totally had no qualms with having us(I dont know...some people do mind you visiting their house if family members died within 3 months...) In fact, because of this, I also didnt attend a colleague's wedding, which I think the elderly parents mind the superstitious belief of the red-white-events clash) I mean I totally understand =), and it's really fine for me to attend or NOT; it's really up to the individual. For example, one of my besties is getting married in Jan and she said she dont mind at all and urged me to attend her incoming wedding lunch. Another bestie is holding her precious bb shower in Jan and invited me despite knowing everything.
I'm just so touched and happy. =)
During the funeral, we all had little to sleep. For the following couple of days after the funeral, it's almost impossible to sleep. I was perfectly normal during daytime or when I'm out with my friends. But whenever the lights were out, on the bed, my tears just flowed like nobody's business. I posted on FACEBOOK to appeal for witness for my dad in his highly possible robbery case. Amazingly, from my small pool of friends, it got shared like wildfire and I'm so deeply touched by all the condolences messages from strangers. I mean, they say Singaporeans are so emotionless, so without compassion, I really beg to differ. A group of them are simply so warm and full of empathy. =)
And somehow I got so many calls and messages from the various newspapers, like Lian He Wan Bao, Xin Min Ri Bao, Lian He Zao Bao, The Straits Times and the New Paper. But the fastest person to get to me is the former 2 so I only spoke to them on phone. I wish more people can see this and understand Singapore is no longer safe. It's funny how the news people were adamant on meeting me and asking me how old am I, married or not, what job I'm doing. Seriously, I'm not matchmaking(相亲) nor yearning for attention and I find all this kinda amusing and exasperating when the questioning gets insistent.
My only intention is to appeal for witnesses as to who had seen my dad being assaulted and to urge all fellow Singaporeans to be CAREFUL. Because when I told my friends about it, all of them were like, "Assault? Robbery? In Singapore?" I was like, "Yessssss!" Some of them are completely oblivious and astounded as they couldnt believe something like that can happen in Singapore. Im telling you, yes it's happening and more bodies are uncovered everyday now! Just "Like" The Real Singapore and Stomp on facebook and you'll know much more things than you will know on yahoo and newspaper.
Many people are asking me about how the Singapore Police Force are doing. All I can say is, I'm very very disappointed with their attitude and their professionalism. I was warned not to say more on facebook or online because they will SUE me. Hur hur~ Seriously, if I'm saying the facts and the truth, how can you sue me?? BUT, I just dont wish to get into an array of disputes which might interfere with my dad's investigations and attract a whole lot of anti-PAP commenters who use my dad's issue to 借题发挥. FYI, I'm having very negative sentiments towards our gahmen on MANY issues but for the time being, I wish to focus on the more important matter at hand, which is, finding witness. I hope you too, if you're reading this. And of course, be vigilant. Like I said, do discourage your old folks from wearing valuables and try not to go out alone, especially late at night. Yeah some are stubborn and insists, you just try anyway. And always always call the police and go to a hospital immediately after being assaulted, no matter how minor the injuries may seem. Because sometimes you might under-estimate them. Old folks dont like to go hospital, please do educate them. I suspect my dad under-estimate his....and.............sigh............
I strongly strongly encourage every elderly to carry a long umbrella with them whenever they go. Hey dont laugh, I'm perfectly serious.
And by the way, I'm super pissed off that SGH only notify the police as well as us 2 DAYS after my dad got admitted. Such SERIOUS fractures(collarbone, and fractures of ribs which pierced through the lungs), to a normal layman, is such an OBVIOUS ASSAULT CASE, and they actually delayed a whole 2 days. Dont they know the golden 48hours are of vital importance to finding the killer...........Sigh.......
I know...as the days goes by....my hopes get diminished....I'm just consoling myself that there's karma in this world and the cruel assaulter will get his just desserts....
Sigh.... eventually I felt better....tears stopped flowing at night....only a feeling of sorrow which I brushed it off as soon as they are creeping in. Actually I meant to return the calls of the other newspapers but I was simply too emotionally and physically drained.....and when I'm about to call them back.....I wonder did the loss of appetite and lack of meals once again sparked the torturous abdominal cramps which I get once in a blue moon. And I got admitted to Mt Alvernia on 30th during the wee hours....scans and all that and an operation to remove the gallbladder decorated with stones and polyps was scheduled on the next day, 31st Dec 2014, New Year's Eve.
Seriously can things get more fucked up?? It was hell hell hell. I was so pain all the time that I'm begging for painkiller jabs one after another. I really got no choice. When I got better on the 2nd day after the op, I discharged myself. A total of 3 days 3 nights, total bill $12,000. Thank you very much.
So now I'm stucked with 3 ugly plasters on my stomach. Dont mock a keyhole surgery, still pain okie. I'm now walking like the hunchback of notre-dame who had just given birth. Thanks to all the friends who showed concern, all the getwell goodies, hampers and fruit baskets sent to the hospital/home. :)
And you know what...........I'm scheduled to fly on a business trip in less than 10 days time, which includes a wonderful teambonding game of Kpop dancing among my peers.
Our team is supposed to perform this, albeit a simpler(minus ALL the obscene and difficult parts) and shorter version.
Nice song eh~
But now, DANCE GE PI LAH!
I'll see how lah.
Although I'm not at all a great dancer, I do not wish to simply stand aside and do nothing. We're still a team. We'll see how la......thank god I'm not the main dancer so I dont have that much responsibilities and duties to perform perfectly....but as a team, I just wish to do a minimal part, maybe as a backdrop or shake abit or something...blearh...
TO A BETTER YEAR 2014!!!!
I wish all of you a safe and great year 2014 with abundance of happiness and wealth, in the pink of health!!
*Repeats* Singapore is NO LONGER safe. Stay alert!

Hi
I see the nett amount is only around 69.55% of total, meaning it's only 30.45% off instead of 35% as promised by the promo code.
That's because of the GST which is later being added on right?

Hi Fion,
We are legally required to collect GST starting first of November. Orders prior to then didn't have GST. After 1st of November all orders have GST due to government regulations.

Hi LUXOLA
I NEVER said you're not ALLOWED to collect the GST and not dumb enough to know that it is a government regulation.
I dont care when you're allowed to collect them either.
I merely wish to CONFIRM the NETT amount I'm paying is correct as it was a MISLEADING 35% off sale AFTER GST been added to the discounted amount
BECAUSE the nett amount I'm paying is not 35% OFF my gross total.
You get it?
NEVERMIND, I do understand this is normal marketing sales gimmicks, I dont really treat it very seriously
UNTIL your very RUDE and condescending email.
What a great after-sales service.
Last time I'm buying from Luxola.

This order summary is NOT the same when I was paying. The "GST" amount was being omitted.
Maybe next time before you pay for any online shopping, calculate the gross and nett amount yourself to see exactly how much discount you're getting(as promised), instead of getting duped by misleading marketing gimmick AND THEN slammed with such a rude email reply. When I was paying, it was simply shown as gross amount, discount applied ($25.90) and NETT total S$51.47; So I simply paid without any thoughts. The GST amount WASNT STATED AT ALL(When it was actually secretly being added in). SO unless your mental maths is so good or you manually calculate it yourself, you wont know what you're paying is only a 30% off instead of a 35% off.
Yaya I know only 5% difference, but I'm a black and white person. 35% is 35%, 30% is 30%. If I tell my clients their premium is $249.50, I'm damn sure not 50cents more is charge to their account.
Too bad I didnt printscreen when I was at the order cart page; I almost did because I'm sharing 1 beauty blender sponge with my friend. Damnz!
As I said, I'm FINE with such marketing gimmicks, it's not the 1st time anyway, with GST later being added on; I feel 30% off is also not bad too. BUT I'm just furious with the way my email is replied.

Alldealsasia's response when product dont match picture
So my issue was addressed here, http://littlechillipadi89.blogspot.sg/2013/07/edited-with-update-to-product-received.html. In short, I ordered 3 difference size of pouches from alldealsasia(ADA), merchant being Voxxus Marketing located at 10 Anson Road #10-11.

And I complained to ADA because 1 of the pouch totally dont match what was in the picture.
I ordered this.

But I got this instead.
I'm clearly annoyed that the biggest pouch is so ugly. So I emailed ADA about it on 10th JULY. I waited 6 days for a reply but I received none. Irritated, I replied with a "HEY I WANT A REPLY!!! Or I'm going to STOMP IT!" And immediately, on the SAME DAY 16th JULY, I received their reply;
Hi Fion,
Thank you for your feedback and our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.
We have already forwarded the issue to the merchant and are currently awaiting for their response.
Rest assured that we will revert to you once they respond.
Thank you for your patience.
Kind Regards,

And it wasnt until 23rd JULY that they gave me a more informative reply;
"Dear Fion,
We understand your frustration and we are equally disappointed with the merchant's act. Believe us, we are fighting your case with the merchant now.
Please give us a few more days to follow up with merchant to give you a resolution.
Kind regards,
Eliza"
Fighting??
And finally on the 1st AUG;
Hi Fion,
Our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience you were caused and for the delay as we have to confirm this with our merchant.
We are so sorry Ms. Fion Lim for the length of time and trouble that the product have caused you. We have talked to the merchant and pointed out their advertisement's flaws. Thank you for your patience and for calling our attention. Kindly send the item via registered mail to 119 Jalan Sultan (S) 199008.
Also, please email us your receipt so we can process your refund. Upon the receipt of the item, we will send a confirmation and the money will be sent to your account within 24 hours.
Ms. Fion Lim we really value your comments as well as your recommendations. We really like to gain back your confidence in All Deals Asia, so please accept our apologise and as a token we would like to offer any of our current deals worth $20 (inclusive of courier delivery fee). you can also transfer your purchased to any current deal and include the additional $20 of top-up for the final deal purchase.
We value you feedback and it greatly help us to shape the future of our services and we also hope you will not let this unfortunate incident overshadow your impression of All Deals Asia and that you give us the pleasure to assist you once more and offer you the pleasant overall experience which you were looking for the first time.

*****************************************************************************************************************
So I've just replied them.
Hi ADA
Yes this has indeed taken too long a time. I'm extremely busy in AUG with work. Also, my mum is hospitalized since 6th AUG till now. So I really have no time to go to the post office. I hope you can understand as consumers, what we want is very clear-cut; we just want WHAT was being PICTURED as per the deal. I thank your team for liaising with Voxxus Marketing on my behalf and I do appreciate the offer of the S$20 credits or something. I understand the entire fault lies with Voxxus Marketing. However, from this troublesome incident it goes to show one point, that ADA is extremely helpless when the merchant ships items entirely not true to picture or ships wrong items. This can really pose as a additional consideration if I have to consider purchasing another tangible product deal from ADA in future.
If only you can hear me out on my SUGGESTIONS.
I'm guessing that ADA paid out a percentage of the proceeds right after the delivery of the item? Perhaps ADA can consider to only pay out proceeds at least 1 month after the item was delivered? So that if customers receive defected or wrong products, the merchant can/must take necessary action to replace or refund before ADA transfer them their proceeds. I think there's a need to review your contract signed with your merchants; merchants should have the duty to replace or refund wrong/defected products or else subjected to the right of not receiving proceeds for that particular sale. ADA should exercise more power. Ask your lawyer~ This is only FAIR to your customers. Even Groupon promises to refund the full deal price if there is anything dis-satisfactory.
ADA should also STATE the NAME of the MERCHANT with their full address so that they will be more accountable and responsible when their reputation is at stake.
As for your customer service, I only receive a reply after I threatened to stomp this issue. This made me very disgusted. As much as I appreciate the offer of S$20 credits, I'm still disappointed with how this matter was being handled. As I mentioned, customers shouldnt need to bear the responsibility, trouble nor cost to mail back the item when the fault lies with the merchant. However, I do see you've tried your best so I wont stomp this.
I do hope ADA can have some improvements.......until then.......we'll see.
Fion
What I'm trying to convey is very clear here. I believe I have very smart readers. Leave it to you all to judge~

Return of the DBS screw ups - Part II
To continue from here, http://littlechillipadi89.blogspot.sg/2013/08/return-of-dbs-screw-ups.html
*Updated*: Called DBS and they said I opted for e-statements in July so my AUG statements were not out yet. They will only be out on coming thursday on the 14th. Then I said, "If so, then DBS should only email me reminders on the 13th or 14th what. Then you email me on the 6th AUG to log in to check FOR WHAT? The e-statement wasnt ready at all.
Here's a screenshot. Everything I say is got prooooooffffff one. =P
"You know it's so troublesome when I see the email, log in and the e-statement is not there, and I have to go back and mark that email reminder as "Unread" SO THAT I can remind myself to log in AGAIN another time to check my e-statement, SO THAT I wont pay my bills late. And imagine me doing that everyday repeatedly from the 6th till 13th for 8 days straight and only get to see the e-statement on the 9th day of checking?"
Then the CS officer did the usuals....."I'm sorry bla bla...will feedback bla bla..."
Anyway, on the 14th, we'll see if the AUG statement will really be up. Hopefully it does. So far, no other email reminders other than this one on the 6th AUG. I do wish they send out email reminders immediately after the statements are ready, not earlier, not later.
I seriously dont understand such a SIMPLE thing also need to feedback. Wah lau eh!
Kinda reminds me of some funny conversation between dearie and me.
Dearie: Dear, later remind me to top up cash card okie?
Me: Ok! Dear, later you must remember to top up cash card okie? =)
Dearie: Zzzz.......I mean REMIND ME LATER.
Me: Orh. Heehee! Then can you remind me later to remind you to top up cash card? Hee!
Dearie: (=.=)''''''''''''''''''
Dearie: (=.=)''''''''''''''''''
Back into the car
Dearie: Shit! Forgot to top up cash card!
Me: Oh, Dear, you remember to top up cash card okie?
Dearie: Zzzzz......now no need you to remind liao lah! *get out of the car to go top-up*
Me: Wahahahaha!!
FYI, I did try to remember to remind him, but I'm just really forgetful!
What's the morale of this joke? Reminders at the WRONG timings are NOT REMINDERS AT ALL!

Return of the DBS screw ups - Part 1
*Updates here, http://littlechillipadi89.blogspot.sg/2013/08/return-of-dbs-screw-ups-part-ii.html
Champion~
Previously I blogged about my frustrations on the irregularity of my DBS credit card paper statements here. DBS emailed me for "feedback" after they saw the entry and I blogged it here. Anyway because after multiple feedbacks and complaints, the situation was still the same, hence I "surrender" and opted for e-statements. 6 days ago, I received the email reminder but DBS ibanking was down. So I marked the email as "Unread". So troublesome. Duhz. And today I just logged in again to view the e-statement. Guess what?
"MARCH???" I exclaimed loudly with eyes almost popping out of my sockets. Without tearing my eyes away from the screen, "Dear, now is AUG right?! How can my latest DBS credit card e-statement be March??"
*Deep breath*
DBS, OPPS YOU DID IT AGAIN............
But think again, mine is just a small problem.
Look at my friend,
She's even more suay than me.
Credit card also screw up. Debit card also screw up.
That's why I say they Champion~
Champion in screw ups.
Wait wait....oh my god....for such an entry....I wonder will they......I mean will there be a hack on my credit card just like my friend for god-knows-what-amount??? Oh my god...I'm really worried. Maybe I should close my DBS account all for good, since also dont have much money there anyway. Usually I'll transfer to Standard Chartered to prevent myself from spending too much and also for higher interest. But oh...lately I heard CIMB bank offers even higher interest.
Hmm..........................
Anyway, dont wish to spoil your day even though mine is "kinda" spoilt by them. Here's an episode of 康熙來了which I find so endearingly funny!!
康熙來了 2013-07-25 利菁對小S的言語逆襲
利菁 is so cute! Lol. And can you imagine she's 51 years old this year??

DBS Care? Haha.
Just 10 days ago, on the 22nd of July, I received an email from DBS_care@dbs.com. Fully expecting it to be some typical marketing email, I was amused to see the content coming from their Social Media Relations Manager, John Christian Salonga, who said that they had saw my blog entry titled, DBS/POSB credit cards' bureau SUCKS!!, dated 20 July 2013, "appreciated" my "feedback" and hereby wished to speak to me personally to "assist" on "my concern".
Their email came so promptly, just 2 days AFTER my entry was published.
Anyway, he requested for my contact so that he can personally call me to address my concerns.
Seriously, that really got my blood boiling, again.
And I thought it might amuse you to see what did I replied.
"Hi John
If you've taken the patience and care to read through my entry, you would have know I've called at least 3 times to complain about this issue. And naturally, everytime after the call, I requested the issue to be posted as a feedback to higher management. And the 3rd call which triggered this explosive entry of mine was on Saturday 20th July near 11pm+ to midnight. I spoke to Gake, who assured me our conversation is recorded because I hope she can submit this whole convo as a feedback so that issues like this can be improved! I also requested an email to be send to me so that I can be informed whether measures have been taken, or AT LEAST, to acknowledge that my concerns are heard. (*Till now I didnt receive any emails or calls in regards to this matter)
Apparently, there is no such thing as "feedback" via your tele customer service if you still can email me via my blog to ask for my contact!
"Okie certainly, we will feedback to our management." is obviously a patronizing statement. So disappointing.
BTW, I've paid the bill immediately the next day despite your bank's continuous, demanding, "Immediate payment" bill. I dont owe your bank a single cent.
John, I have no time nor patience to complain all over to you for the FOURTH TIME if you still wish to contact me to "speak to me personally to address my concern." I'm SO SICK of all the "Not to worry, we will feedback and address your concerns" assurance again and again by your tele customer service officers. Because obviously, nobody feedback, nobody cares. Until a blog entry is being posted. So ironic!
If DBS/POSB has any respect for their customers, kindly look up the call records yourself, identify what's the problem and only call me AFTER you have taken EFFECTIVE MEASURES to solve this problem. I wont hesitate to hang up if I hear one more time that "May I know what concerns you have....Oh I see, no worries, we will feedback to address your concerns."
Fion
I didnt expect any actually. They are as disappointing exactly the way that I've expected. *shrugged*
I admit that my attitude and tone in the email wasnt good. Because I was simply irked to realize all my previous 3 calls on feedback actually fell on deaf ears. And even so, if this John had read through my entry, he didnt really need me to tell him MY concerns all over again for the 4th time, isnt it? It's not as if he dont understand English~
Wow....I didnt expect banks nowadays to take feedbacks published online more seriously than their tele customer service. Next time, blog about your experience online. Who knows you might get an email, requesting to speak to you personally to address your concerns. That's such a personal touch.
It's just too bad I dont like to repeat myself for more than 3 times. Seriously, 3 times is my max. And frankly speaking, I'm reallllllyyyyy not very free.

DBS/POSB credit cards' bureau SUCKS!!
**Update**
DBS actually saw this entry and emailed me about it.
http://littlechillipadi89.blogspot.sg/2013/08/dbs-care-haha.html
This is NOT the first time when I reached home and got all pissed up when what I want is just to bathe and rest. Previously, DBS/POSB always send me bills very late. It's like, I always receive my bills around 3 to 4 weeks later than the date of the bill. Which of course, everytime I have to pay almost immediately, just so not to incur the late charges, which I closely avoided each time. Once in a while I will missed it, I will call to waive. They will waive it but it's very troublesome. I feedback about the late mailing of the mail and they said they will improve it. Yes, they did for awhile. But now, it's even worse!
NOW, somehow, DBS/POSB always missed sending out 1 bill like every quarterly. It means, every 3months or so, I will simply missed 1 bill consisting of total expenses for 2 cards(which I never notice because I have quite a few cards from other bands as well) and then got welcome with the following subsequent bill which now had 2months of expenses being snowballed and combined into ONE BILL for TWO cards. What's more, even when the bill is dated 17th July 2013, and I saw it today, being 20th July 2013, they HAVE the cheek to demand IMMEDIATE payment for BOTH CARDS even it's the first time I ever saw an outstanding bill!
Previous outstanding balance: S$XXX
What?? When?? HOW??
I totally dont know because I didnt receive that "previous outstanding" bill at all!!
And then, there will be late charges la, finance charges la, being charged on top of the bill.
So I've feedback to the CS before on their hotline and they always blamed it on SingPost. And then they said, "Oh We have 2 cycles bla bla will always mail on when-when-when and when-when-when and you usually will receive on when-when-when and when-when-when. I said, "Hello, you think you're the only bank which has credit card services?? I have many other cards from many banks. Am I supposed to always check, "Hey has OCBC bill arrived? They're supposed to mail me on 10th. Oh and has CITIBANK bill come? I should receive it on the 15th. And hey, DBS/POSB bank haven mail me my bill!! I'm supposed to call and REMIND THEM to send me my bill??!!"
OH PLEASE!! I know all banks rely mainly on late finance charges for their margin but BY NOT SENDING your customers' bills AT ALL and then charging them for not paying up IS really carrying the "business" too far!!
THEN, they asked me to opt for e-statements but I dont want because I dont check my personal email account on a regular basis unless I know I have important mails. Why should the responsibility LIE on ME to check my EMAIL so as to PAY my bills? Common, we go like this. I get your credit card, swipe it, you pay for me first, you try to earn my money by betting that I cant pay you back or pay you late. That's it! That's the game. If I need to use your card plus constantly remembering whether you send me your bill or constantly checking my email so that I do not missed your god damn bill, then seriously your card isnt that damn worth it! I can bloody pay cash myself. And what's more, I have credit cards from other banks as well too.
So I still insisted on paper mailing. They even said they will track my mail and make sure I did receive it and if so, on time. And yes for that month and the following month, no problem. BUT, when the 3rd or 4th month come again, the same shit happens again!! This is like the 3rd time!!
Oh yes, maybe SingPost can lose the mail once. Or maybe, I can (somehow)miss the bill once myself. But 3 times?? All from DBS/POSB bank?? How is it even possible? Moreover, I always either pay the bills straight away or else stick them onto my kitchen fridge with magnets. Nothing gets lost. Nothing gets missed. Because I see my giant bloody fridge in my open-space kitchen ALL THE TIME.
You can always say "Hell, cancel the cards!"
But POSB Everyday card gives me 3% rebates on WATSON's purchases, and being a shopaholic at Watson, 3% can be a very big amount. BHG card too, (used to) offers 5% rebates on all BHG's purchases which I use everytime during BHG sales.
While I'm thinking of substituting these cards with other cards which holds the same benefits, I had no choice but to opt for e-statements for the time-being. Meanwhile, I think I will stop using these cards. But really, I wonder if this is the way for DBS/POSB to earn all those late/finance charges or simply to FORCE their customers to opt for e-statements so that they can cut down on costings. Why, if they can blame SingPost, why I have NEVER receive my OCBC and Standard Chartered banks credit cards bills late???? While some other banks do sometimes mail bills out slightly later(but not overboard, usually still have 1 or 1.5weeks allowance to pay the bill) but they never MISSED mailing out any bill at all.
I asked the DBS/POSB CS officer that question and she cant answer me at all.
Oh well, now, any good recommendations on any other cards worth getting, which are NOT from the DAMN BLOODY STUPID(DBS) Bank?
(FYI, I currently have NTUC Plus(black colour card from ocbc), UOB One card, CITI Dividend, which are the main ones I use)
