Complications from previous stomach ulcer operation - Hospitalization Stay in SGH - Part 1

An update of my mum's condition.

Initially I merely intend to summarize the whole 14 days of hospitalization in 1 paragraph since she is already much better now. But as I blogged, I've decided to blog more details for my recording in case I forgot the details of my mum's condition many years down the road. I've also decided to blog more details so that you guys can learn more about what kind of complications can arise from a stomach operation, why they may arise, what procedures/tests may be done, what kind of doctors you're dealing with when you're hospitalized in SGH(Singapore General Hospital) and what kind of things you need to look out for if you or your loved ones are hospitalized. If you're one who is thirsty for knowledge, then read on.

"The BEST lessons are those learnt FREE from other people's experiences.
- Fion Lim

Mummy was hospitalized in SGH because of insistent pain in stomach and excessive vomiting. She was hospitalized since 4th AUG and was only discharged this afternoon on 18th AUG. In fact, after 1 year from her stomach ulcer operation(stitching up of a hole in stomach) done 5years ago, she has been experiencing abdominal pains. Sometimes we go GP or hospital A&E. For the past year it was worse as she also experienced vomiting. And this had to be the worst with the most terrible and persistent pain and vomiting thus she was warded.

For the 1st 2 days of hospitalization, Mummy could not stop vomiting despite having jabs to stop it. The pain, though suppressed with painkillers jab, always come again. FINALLY, the doctors have the brains to put her on drip and stop her food intake. However the pain continued. I'm quite puzzled why a scope wasnt arranged(merely mentioned)...anyway my mum protested strongly against any scope...so a CT scan was finally arranged and it showed a bent/clogged intestine.

I asked the doctor what might have caused it. "Is it a complication from her previous surgery??" So a local female doctor told me yes, and it's not an unusual complication. If you did an op in the stomach, there will be lesion(wound). When they are healing, they are sticky with the blood clotting up etc and may cause adhesions. If an adhesion is external, we can always fix it right away because we can see. But because it's inside the stomach, you cant see, you wont know and therefore you cant fix an abdominal adhesion.

A CT scan showed a bent intestine, which might have sticked to the stomach wall. A CT scan is like taking a 2D picture. You can see all the organs and such in their position, but you wont know whether they are overlapping each other on a front and back basis or merely near to each other. When an intestine is bent, food cant process through normally. As food piles up from the bent area with pressure, it causes pain. When it got so full to near the brim, it causes vomiting.

So an FT doctor(probably from India) called me(because I was working) and said they're going to ask the NURSE to insert a thin tube through mummy's nose to suck out all the food from the intestine to release the pressure, in a way to relieve the pain.

I was like,

Me: Thr...through the nose? Will that cause pain??
Doc: It will definitely cause some discomfort, yes
Me: Is it possible to do it under partial anesthesia?
Doc: Oh that shouldnt be necessary because it's just a simple procedure, non-invasive.
Me: This is a simple procedure?? It IS invasive!(invasive means inserting something into your body). You're inserting a tube from her nose into her stomach to reach her intestines and you're telling me it's non-invasive??
Doc: Erm......it's not thattttttt invasive
Me: *WTF* And you're going to let a NURSE do it?
Doc: Trained nurse, yes.
Me: Can a doctor possibly do it?? Because I'm worried
Doc: *Clearly annoyed* Fine fine we'll get a doctor to do it.
And then he disconnected the call RUDELY.

I was worried because clearly, he doesnt seem to take my words seriously nor seems compassionate to the patient's suffering. He's not reassuring me at all. Not to mention, his fcking irritating accent is super difficult to understand on the phone. Granted that I'm not a medical professional(although I'm not that stupid either) SO doctors should re-assure the patients and the patient's family members to UNDERSTAND what should be done, why it should be done etc.

I was worried and perplexed too. How can a nurse, despite being trained, perform an invasive procedure? Moreover, mummy had an serious operation done before in her stomach. I rushed down to the hospital while calling mummy not to let any nurse touch her. I went down and another female local doctor explained to me that, yes, the procedure might be discomforting but it's not recommended to use anesthesia because they're not good for the body too. As for the insertion of the tube, she assured me and even showed me(the real thing) that they are very very thin, to minimize any discomfort. She also told me these trained nurses do them EVERYDAY, like maybe 1 or 2 patients per day. The doctors dont do it at all, so these nurses will probably do them BETTER than the doctors. Also, the suction pump they're using to pump out the food is a lower power one as they did consider mummy's stomach is weaker than normal beings.

(=.=)''''' Okie fine................But at least she's reassuring me...and I felt more at ease. And I also explained everything to mummy.

Alldealsasia's response when product dont match picture

So my issue was addressed here, http://littlechillipadi89.blogspot.sg/2013/07/edited-with-update-to-product-received.html. In short, I ordered 3 difference size of pouches from alldealsasia(ADA), merchant being Voxxus Marketing located at 10 Anson Road #10-11.

And I complained to ADA because 1 of the pouch totally dont match what was in the picture.

I ordered this.

REDEEM NOW! Authentic 3 Piece Chanel Makeup Storage Pouch (Worth $288). Courier Delivery to your Doorstep.

But I got this instead.

I'm clearly annoyed that the biggest pouch is so ugly. So I emailed ADA about it on 10th JULY. I waited 6 days for a reply but I received none. Irritated, I replied with a "HEY I WANT A REPLY!!! Or I'm going to STOMP IT!" And immediately, on the SAME DAY 16th JULY, I received their reply;

Hi Fion,

Thank you for your feedback and our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience.

We have already forwarded the issue to the merchant and are currently awaiting for their response.
Rest assured that we will revert to you once they respond.

Thank you for your patience.

Kind Regards,

We understand your frustration and we are equally disappointed with the merchant's act. Believe us, we are fighting your case with the merchant now.

Please give us a few more days to follow up with merchant to give you a resolution.

Kind regards,

Fighting??

And finally on the 1st AUG;

*****************************************************************************************************************

So I've just replied them.

Hi ADA
Yes this has indeed taken too long a time. I'm extremely busy in AUG with work. Also, my mum is hospitalized since 6th AUG till now. So I really have no time to go to the post office. I hope you can understand as consumers, what we want is very clear-cut; we just want WHAT was being PICTURED as per the deal. I thank your team for liaising with Voxxus Marketing on my behalf and I do appreciate the offer of the S$20 credits or something. I understand the entire fault lies with Voxxus Marketing. However, from this troublesome incident it goes to show one point, that ADA is extremely helpless when the merchant ships items entirely not true to picture or ships wrong items. This can really pose as a additional consideration if I have to consider purchasing another tangible product deal from ADA in future.

If only you can hear me out on my SUGGESTIONS.

I'm guessing that ADA paid out a percentage of the proceeds right after the delivery of the item? Perhaps ADA can consider to only pay out proceeds at least 1 month after the item was delivered? So that if customers receive defected or wrong products, the merchant can/must take necessary action to replace or refund before ADA transfer them their proceeds. I think there's a need to review your contract signed with your merchants; merchants should have the duty to replace or refund wrong/defected products or else subjected to the right of not receiving proceeds for that particular sale. ADA should exercise more power. Ask your lawyer~ This is only FAIR to your customers. Even Groupon promises to refund the full deal price if there is anything dis-satisfactory.

ADA should also STATE the NAME of the MERCHANT with their full address so that they will be more accountable and responsible when their reputation is at stake.

As for your customer service, I only receive a reply after I threatened to stomp this issue. This made me very disgusted. As much as I appreciate the offer of S$20 credits, I'm still disappointed with how this matter was being handled. As I mentioned, customers shouldnt need to bear the responsibility, trouble nor cost to mail back the item when the fault lies with the merchant. However, I do see you've tried your best so I wont stomp this.

I do hope ADA can have some improvements.......until then.......we'll see.

What I'm trying to convey is very clear here. I believe I have very smart readers. Leave it to you all to judge~

A reply from CEO of J.P. Morgan to a pretty girl seeking a rich husband - My Views

A reply from CEO of J.P. Morgan to a pretty girl seeking a

rich husband

A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?

I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here.

I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above.

You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York.

My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married?

I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you?

Among those I've dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit.

If  someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of  New York City Garden(?), $250k annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:
1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)
2) Which age group should I target?
3)  Why most wives of the riches are only average-looking? I've met a few  girls who don't have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to  marry rich guys.
4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)

Ms. Pretty

A philosophical reply from CEO of

 J.P. Morgan:

Dear Ms. Pretty,
I  have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls  out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to  analyse your situation as a professional investor.

My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here.

From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain.

Put  the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty"  and "money" : Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair  and square.

However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty  will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The  fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be  prettier year after year.

Hence from the viewpoint of economics,  I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not  just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your  only asset, your value will be much worse 10 years later.

By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position".
If  the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to  keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It  might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any  assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased".

Anyone  with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you,  but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Hope this reply helps.

J.P. Morgan CEO

LOL! This is so funny! I really "applaud" Ms's Pretty's "candidness" with coming up with these questions on a forum. For awhile, I wondered WHAT is James Dimon doing in such a forum? LOL. However, since it's all over internet and there wasnt any denial, I suppose the reply is authentic.

Mr Dimon is definitely blunt to the point of demeaning. Poor young lass. For someone who's so proud of her looks and who believed her looks can fetch her a rich husband but just short of an opportunity, she'll definitely be crushed.

But seriously, how can anyone be so stupid?

Candidness is an adorable trait, ONLY if you choose the right point to be candid about. If you choose to be candid by exposing your flaws, that's quite a dumbest thing one can do. Nobody admires a materialistic girl, especially one who can say nothing about herself except her age and her "pretty" looks.

The most ironic thing will be, I realized all these "pretty" girls who are always lemming after rich husbands, usually ends up with nothing, and most of them end up on the shelves because they set too high a standard, rejecting all the guys who didnt make their cut. Instead, the sincere girls who arent lemming for anything except true, everlasting love, somehow end up with great husbands, most of them well-to-do.

I definitely wont say I have a rich husband(we live so humbly) although most of my friends always remark that he is(maybe to them). Everytime I say "This this this is so worth it, only $$$ after a 30% discount etc! Go buy!", I've always been rebutted, "Woah...I dont have a rich husband like you lor." with a slight sour or bitter tone. It usually turns my face green and I just dont know what to say. Through time, I've stopped sharing such stuff, which are great deals, in my humble opinion. I seriously dont feel we are rich or well-to-do in any way. Many a time when friends ask me how much or where I got my stuff, I will bluntly say I buy this from somewhere because it's cheaper there, OR, I'll say I buy this only after there's a 20% discount or something. But somehow, people love to comment "you're so lucky to have a rich husband who dotes on you." I guess we felt pretty down-to-earth because we have many friends who are doing better in other ways. However there are quite a few similar things I noticed about all the wives, including me.

1) We are SIMPLE
Simple doesnt mean we are simple-minded. It simply means we are not the type who like to play mind games. We are faithful, with only a few past serious relationships lasting for years. We dont belong to the group of super gorgeous heart-breakers who holds track records of ever dated 20+ boyfriends for as short as a month, or proudly declared that we ever 2-timed or never single for past a month, that kinda thing. We all have a very simple background.

2) We are NOT materialistic
I've just realized, all the wives were already together with their husbands as boyfriends and girlfriends, way before they become who they are now. Like I said, it's never money we're looking at prior to dating. We're not obsessed with money. Frankly speaking, dont think that guys are dumb, like what James Dimon said. Firstly, nobody likes a materialistic girl. And even you're great at acting you're not one, guys are not that dumb to dont realize you're exactly one.

3) We have ATTITUDE/PERSONALITY
We are not afraid to say NO to our partners and wont hesitate at all to voice our displeasures or different opinions whenever a discussion is at hand. In short, we're not doormats or pushovers and can be rather a bitchy chillipadi at times when being riled. We are ready to walk away if ever being mistreated and we made that CLEAR.

4) We are INDEPENDENT and CONFIDENT
We have our own careers and our own clique of friends, and does not cling to husbands like a leech. We're independent and loves to have our freedom, and in turn, we also give them the same freedom. We are confident and comfortable in our own skin. We are down to earth and just love being ourselves

5) We LOVE alot
Humans are afterall very sensitive animals. How deep you can love someone OR his money, he can definitely feel it. Because of this love, it leads to alot of care and concern, which means we take good care of our husbands, for e.g, his diet, his safety etc. A man will only marry a wife who's concerned about taking good care of him, instead of one who only care about spending his money.

6) We dont dictate how he manage his CAREER
In short, we only take care of small things at home, for e.g, whether this sofa is suitable for the living room or which brand of oven to buy. Big things like how he should advance his career, or how much or where he should invest, is totally up to him. Guys dont mind wives deciding such minor stuffs, instead they loves it, because he got much more important matters at hand to handle. So dont bother him with nitty-gritty stuff but perhaps, give him the top 3 choices to have a final say. But believe me, he'll definitely take your suggestion; he just wants to have the final say even though the final say is based on what you suggest. =)

7) We dont COMPLAIN (as much)
It's so very common for females to complain isnt it? But generally I think we hardly complain. We dont kick up a fuss when they reach home late at 12midnight or jump simply because they didnt return a call. Trust is the key. It simply shows you're a mature lady who trust him, and not a possessive, paranoid freak baby which he need to baby-sit.

8) We can CONNECT with them
It's good to understand their work, so that if they want a second opinion or a listening ear, they can count on you. Be sensitive, intuitive and knowledgeable. Share views or insights on interesting topics. Be astute and understanding. Great minds think alike. The more you can connect, the more brain stimulation he has and the more he will find you attractive in your own way.

9) We are GOOD with his FAMILIES
This might be more important than you think it is. If he is a man of honor and success, he will definitely be appreciative of his parents who contributed in some ways to what he is today. Able to click with his family with his parents' approval means something to him.

10) We (generally) DONT force him to CHANGE
It's impossible that a couple never argue about their differences. But the main thing is we'll try to accommodate each other's differences and never try to forcefully change the way they think or behave, drastically. For example, if he dont like to go shopping then dont force him to go shopping with you. Get your friends instead. Everything works both ways. Dont change yourself entirely just to please him too, unless it's a positive change for your own life.

Of course looks and figure does play a part in attracting rich men or just men in general. Men are visual creatures. You need to attract their attention before they are willing to get to know you. Dress with style, well-maintained skin, figure, hair and teeth will definitely be a plus point. But, after knowing you, it's your personality that's able to hold him to your side forever. Carry yourself well with poise. Think before you speak. Rich men have tons of girls around them, most of them soul-less, some of them shallow. Just be yourself. Dont think too much all the time. Sometimes it's simply you thinking too much. Rich men, or men, are simply men.

Ultimately, I believe fate does play a part. Other than the normal chemistry, dont be so silly to do everything a wife does when you are ONLY a girlfriend. Theory is simple. If you do everything a wife does and let him be so aware of your everlasting love BEFORE you're even his wife, then WHY should he make you his wife? You're already treating him like a husband so he dont need to marry you. The moment he knows that you will never leave him marks the day he erase "marriage" from his dictionary. Let them know you can be perfectly great even without them. Let them be the one to feel that they cant live without you. Care for them without being overly clingy and naggy. Keep your choices open. Dont lose contact with your guy friends. Keep your "market value" always. When he's sure that you are The One(takes a very bloody long time) OR worried that somebody else will snatch you away(works so much faster *winks*), only will he "surrender" and marry you.

Anyway, I feel generally nobody is dispensable and you're entirely good to be by yourself or with another person. LOVE YOURSELF, only then will a man love you and treat you with importance.

Finally, if you really want to attract a rich man, firstly, be at-least somewhere near rich yourself. Earn your own keep. When you earn more, you'll speak with confidence. When you meet more people, you'll get more worldly. More importantly, he'll look at you and treat you with more respect. That's when he starts to give you more attention because in his mind, you're not his inferior but his par. Or at least, not a degrading gold digger.

Lastly, I wish James Dimon can see this entry. I would love to hear his views~ Haha~

Review of African Mango PER-FIT Weight loss supplement (100% Natural & Vegetarian)

2 pills to be taken every morning with a glass of water before your breakfast. S$85 for 1 bottle of 60 capsules(1month).

The Loves:
1)No need to wait some irritating and troublesome 30minutes or 1hour before your meal. Sometimes you just want to eat immediately already!

2)Only need to consume once per day, in the morning and that's it!

3) Easy to swallow

I've been taking this NOT-VERY-RELIGIOUSLY for 3 weeks. Alright...on some days I tend to forget. And below are the few things I noticed for this supposedly weight-loss supplement.

Firstly, it did somewhat suppress my appetite and makes me feel full most of the time. If you dont know me, I can tell you I eat suppers EVERYDAY. And on some nights, I can have MORE than 1 round of supper. I wont say I have great appetite always but I just need to munch food at say...between 11pm - 1am. And sometimes when I stay up late till around 4am on non-working weekends, I can still munch 2nd round at 2am and such. But with this African mango, I almost dont need suppers, which is pretty amazing. Sometimes maybe just 1 round of supper and it's also very little, like maybe a donut. It doused your appetite just a little, so that you tend to eat lesser and dont feel that excited about eating. But it doesnt totally drench your appetite SO badly like some drugs do and thus make you moody.

Because good appetite with good food simply makes one happy. People who takes doctors' drugs for weight-loss(like I did before) tend to get alittle moody because when you continuously dont have any appetite for more than a month, you will get moodswings especially if you're previously a foodie. For this African Mango, no moodswings.

Also, for doctor's prescribed weight-loss drugs, because of all the appetite-suppressant effects, you almost dont feel hungry at all. So mostly, you'll forgot to eat or you tend to eat very little. Therefore, you feel fatigue easily because the food you ate dont give you enough energy. Usually it's the fatigue which reminds you that you got to eat to keep your energy up. I have to say you'll see results pretty fast! But be careful if it takes a toil on your body. Generally we know these drugs are harmful to our body. Also, the last time I took, my boobs shrinked by exactly 1 cup size too. Eventually I've stopped eating, eventually gained back my weight(sigh....), together with my boobs. Zzzz.

Instead with this African Mango, it's amazing because you can feel the energy of a full meal despite only eating so little. You dont feel tired at all! My stomach is super duper sensitive and I've experience no stomach pains whatsoever. Thumbs up. Too bad it doesnt improve my bowel system. Boo!

After reading so much positive remarks, I guess you'll be so attracted to buying it.

But let me tell you, I didnt lose ANY weight. (=.=)'''''''''''''' Which is SUPER DISAPPOINTING!
I lamented to dearie, "I already ATE SO LITTLE!! Why still never lose any weight??" =(
My weight stays the same, with the usual 1kg to 1.5kg of fluctuations(either up or down) which are completely NORMAL and nothing to do with this. SO, it means, something in this African Mango suppress your appetite, dont let you feel hungry easily, gives you energy for day to day activities but it doesnt make you lose any weight!(for me).

And you know what is the bizarre thing about it???

My boobs actually got 1 cup size bigger. Which is super irritating.

Initially I didnt know until I tried out some bras. I thought I was simply getting fatter when they felt fuller. The sales auntie measured my circumference and I realized it's still the same. So it's not like I got fatter. It's super weird. Anyway, I bought 2 bras based on the auntie's advice and went home to weigh myself. Because I want to know did the boobs grow because of any weight gain. But surprisingly, my weight is, or has always been, the same. No up no down.

I'm not taking any other health supplements, nor did I change my diet or anything. I still eat as per normal, occasional fried food, suppers etc and my usual collagen which I always take. Frankly speaking, I'm not that happy with the change in cup size because I think I'll look even more improportional. And it's UGLY. Not to mention very difficult to buy bras in future lor. Just like my shoes. Arghhhhhhh!

Oh well. I simply feel African Mango is not really what you're looking for if you want to lose weight. But if you wanna eat lesser, like maybe to keep yourself from eating junk food and unhealthy suppers, but still able to keep your energy up with no fatigue, no gastric pain, this is SUPER GREAT. I think it's very suitable for sales people, a.k.a me, because we dont have time to eat alot but still need alot of energy to run about doing sales. Erm...the cup size thing is really bizarre but if you want then you can try it out though I really dont understand how did it happen OR whether it's due to it.

(Disclaimer: This entry is purely my personal experience and opinions after taking African Mango PER FIT for 3 weeks, somewhat, regularly. This product is not sponsored in anyway and I got it online as per some facebook page. If you're interested, you can email me for the contact but I'm not gaining anything from any sales of it. And I wont be liable for any mis-use or any misleading information you might deduce from my entry NOR am I be held responsible for any health issues that you might suffer if you do eventually try it. Do consult a doctor if possible prior to trying, etc)

Return of the DBS screw ups - Part II

To continue from here, http://littlechillipadi89.blogspot.sg/2013/08/return-of-dbs-screw-ups.html

*Updated*: Called DBS and they said I opted for e-statements in July so my AUG statements were not out yet. They will only be out on coming thursday on the 14th. Then I said, "If so, then DBS should only email me reminders on the 13th or 14th what. Then you email me on the 6th AUG to log in to check FOR WHAT? The e-statement wasnt ready at all.

Here's a screenshot. Everything I say is got prooooooffffff one. =P

"You know it's so troublesome when I see the email, log in and the e-statement is not there, and I have to go back and mark that email reminder as "Unread" SO THAT I can remind myself to log in AGAIN another time to check my e-statement, SO THAT I wont pay my bills late. And imagine me doing that everyday repeatedly from the 6th till 13th for 8 days straight and only get to see the e-statement on the 9th day of checking?"

Then the CS officer did the usuals....."I'm sorry bla bla...will feedback bla bla..."

Anyway, on the 14th, we'll see if the AUG statement will really be up. Hopefully it does. So far, no other email reminders other than this one on the 6th AUG. I do wish they send out email reminders immediately after the statements are ready, not earlier, not later.

I seriously dont understand such a SIMPLE thing also need to feedback. Wah lau eh!

Kinda reminds me of some funny conversation between dearie and me.

Dearie: Dear, later remind me to top up cash card okie?
Me: Ok! Dear, later you must remember to top up cash card okie? =)
Dearie: Zzzz.......I mean REMIND ME LATER.
Me: Orh. Heehee! Then can you remind me later to remind you to top up cash card? Hee!
Dearie: (=.=)''''''''''''''''''

Back into the car
Dearie: Shit! Forgot to top up cash card!
Me: Oh, Dear, you remember to top up cash card okie?
Dearie: Zzzzz......now no need you to remind liao lah! *get out of the car to go top-up*
Me: Wahahahaha!!

FYI, I did try to remember to remind him, but I'm just really forgetful!

What's the morale of this joke? Reminders at the WRONG timings are NOT REMINDERS AT ALL!

Sick on a monday, the worse it can get

It has been quite a long since I met yet another unreasonable woman. My family clinic was closed and I had no choice to see another. Entered a very packed clinic to see a bunch of people(somewhat in a line) crowding the counter so I walked over with that woman close BEHIND me. I intended to ask the last guy was he in the queue (for registration) because he was neither near nor far from the crowd.

While asking, the unreasonable woman sprinted forward infront of me and tried to jump my queue. But there were simply few other people who were further infront, so she hurried to the front of the counter from the other opposite side, probably intending to jump to the 1st in queue. *Rollz disgusted eyes* So I queued behind the guy and upon realizing they were addressing the queue in my right of direction, she then plopped over to my side, outrightly stood infront of me again to jump my queue. Im so fcuking annoyed. And shamelessly held out my IC for registration the same time she did.

The staff took my IC but still politely asked who came first. I bluntly said, "I came first" even when I was clearly behind her. I DID CAME FIRST WHAT!!! It was a full 5seconds before she spoke, "You came first?? I'm standing right before you! I came first!" I then said calmly, "No, I entered the clinic before you and eventually you sprinted to stand infront of me and jumped my queue." She then waved her hand repeatedly, as if dismissing me, with another hand holding on to her forehead, looking really sick.

I finally got a good look at her. She did looked very sick. Sigh. I then said, "I did came first but its okay I can let you go first since you look very sick." Then I told the nurse, "Nevermind let her go first." However, she repeatedly waved her hand at us, as if implying "dont bother" or "save it" or "fcuk off" of which the last would be the highest possible.

Whatever~ I just cant stand people who jumped queue. If she had politely asked me if she can go first, I'll definitely let her.

Last week had really taken a toil on me. The rushing to and fro from the hospital. Can be as early as 10am and can be as late as 12midnight. Coupled with my birthday celebrations with dearie (I just dont wish to coop up indoors for such lovely public holidays despite being kinda fatigued), I'm really really exhausted. Fever, sorethroat, cough and the most horrible running nose with insistent sneezing just reduced me to a pitiful state.

I know monday blues are common.
Employees taking MC's for mondays are common.
Employees making full use of their 14days MC leaves are common.

But really, Mondays tend to be the most crowded for clinics because most clinics are closed during weekends(like my family doctor) and those which are open charge crazily expensive and not all seems competent (I still trust my family doctor best). Why? Because, doctors who are mostly competent open their own clinics. Mostly are sole-proprietorships. And only those who are really competent can survive with their regular customers. So imagine he has to work 7 days a week? Of course that wouldnt be possible. So usually they work mon-fri and sometimes half day on sat mornings. For some clinics, they will employ free lance doctors to replace them on weekends. But most simply closed on weekends.

Free lance are kinda like part-time. When the clinics need to pay more for these free-lance doctors to work on weekends, naturally the charges will be more expensive, to cover the costs. And most of these free-lance doctors are not very competent, because they merely work part-time. Most of the commercial clinics like Raffles Medical and Shenton have their group of doctors who probably work on a rotating basis, but naturally being commercialized, their charges are steeper as compared to "home" doctors. Of course there are part-time doctors who are great, but so far I didnt meet any. The free lance ones whom I met on weekends, ALL SUCK.

So it means, most sick people like me, who werent super duper sick but still needs doctor's antibiotics, will endure with some medicine available at home on the Saturday or Sunday which they fell sick, and then eventually seeing the doctor on monday. Mine actually started on Saturday. So there you go, Monday have patients sick on both Saturday and Sundays, as well as healthy people suffering Monday Blues, yearning to get MCs.

Be glad that you're healthy and feeling great on a monday. Why spend hours queuing with sick people with all kinds of virus just so you dont need to go work? If you contract some virus this way, then it's super not worth it. Dont like your job? Find another one. If you're young and has time, try something which you've always wanted to try. Like air stewardess or model maybe? You're only young once. Once you get older, there are many things which you need to do just because you have more responsibilities.

Only 10% of people love their jobs so you are not alone! I was an employee before and I know it too well. Have laughs with your colleagues as you all do shitty work caused by others, pull through the difficult accounting times together at month end, gossip heartily about your lousy demanding boss or dreamily lament about your SO. If you're not a self-employed like me(each doing own stuff), then colleagues are very important. You need to have allies, baby. :)

A friend used to discuss with me about, would you prefer to have a job that pays well but with a job scope which you dont like, OR a job that pays badly but is a job which you love? Assuming both have the same number of working hours, like the usual 8hours 5day week. She was in a good-paying job then but was in a dilemma about changing to a job which pays lesser but one which she thinks she will enjoy more.

I was like...maybe around 24 years old then. And I said, go with the job that pays well. Because you only need to spend, say, 8 hours doing the things you dont like. Thereafter, you can spend the REST OF THE DAY as well as your WEEKENDS doing the things you LOVE! Like shopping, manicures, pedicures, hair treatments, massages, chill-outs with friends, clubbing etc. All these need money. This is a realistic world. Once you reach the stage whereby you dont need to check out price tags or simply prices on a menu, I tell you, you will love the feeling. You can give your family more money, you can do more savings and you can retire earlier.

On the contrary, if you choose a job which you LOVE but doesnt pay well, then you only get to enjoy that 8hours of the day and spend the rest of the day lazing at home. It also means you have less money to give your family because you probably wont have enough to spend yourself. When you cant spend much, you cant go shopping, you cant do ALOT of things and it's also difficult to hang out with your friends(unless you love being a parasite huh~). That will be SO SAD. And I haven even touch on the subject of "peers pressure".

Eventually she stayed with the job.

So just finish your work and then ENJOY. Life can be GREAT!

Wishing you a great Monday devoid of blues!

Return of the DBS screw ups - Part 1

*Updates here, http://littlechillipadi89.blogspot.sg/2013/08/return-of-dbs-screw-ups-part-ii.html

Champion~

Previously I blogged about my frustrations on the irregularity of my DBS credit card paper statements here. DBS emailed me for "feedback" after they saw the entry and I blogged it here. Anyway because after multiple feedbacks and complaints, the situation was still the same, hence I "surrender" and opted for e-statements. 6 days ago, I received the email reminder but DBS ibanking was down. So I marked the email as "Unread". So troublesome. Duhz. And today I just logged in again to view the e-statement. Guess what?

"MARCH???" I exclaimed loudly with eyes almost popping out of my sockets. Without tearing my eyes away from the screen, "Dear, now is AUG right?! How can my latest DBS credit card e-statement be March??"

*Deep breath*

DBS, OPPS YOU DID IT AGAIN............

Now how the hell am I suppose to pay my bills, since I neither have paper or e-statements??? No doubt, they're going to earn another late fee charge as I try to sort this out for as long as they can take. Arrgggghhhh!!! I suppose since both paper and e-statements also fail, I reckon they will want me to call them up twice every month to check my balances and simply pay per se?

But think again, mine is just a small problem.

Look at my friend,

She's even more suay than me.

Credit card also screw up. Debit card also screw up.

That's why I say they Champion~

Champion in screw ups.

Wait wait....oh my god....for such an entry....I wonder will they......I mean will there be a hack on my credit card just like my friend for god-knows-what-amount??? Oh my god...I'm really worried. Maybe I should close my DBS account all for good, since also dont have much money there anyway. Usually I'll transfer to Standard Chartered to prevent myself from spending too much and also for higher interest. But oh...lately I heard CIMB bank offers even higher interest.

Hmm..........................

Anyway, dont wish to spoil your day even though mine is "kinda" spoilt by them. Here's an episode of
康熙來了which I find so endearingly funny!!

康熙來了 2013-07-25 利菁對小S的言語逆襲
