The real hard truths and the real friends!!

It's quite the first time that I stayed indoors like a homely little good girl for so long ever since I past 16 years old. It's like 2 whole weeks that I never go out because of the haze which is still plaguing Singapore up till now; just that it's not as serious now. PSI average below 100 or at most less than 150 for yesterday and today. Very glad. It was between 200 to 400 for the past few days and seriously I was frantic. Because I am asthmatic(although very mild) but I was hospitalized last year because of bronchitis. I'm very very sensitive to bacteria, unclean air and easily suffer coughing and sinus. And soooo........I was desperately looking for simply normal disposable masks as well as the N95 masks. And really, at this difficult times, you really can see deep into the conscience and the heart of many people around. Friends, strangers, various department stores, private clinics, government hospitals and of course, my very own GOVERNMENT.

It's really very heart dampening, even chilling at times and I really dont wish to get upset all over again.

Just wish to share this entry of my dear friend, Lin. I can save time blogging about the whole episode then. Kekeke!

efatrieDid The Haze Erode Our Moral Values?

Have not been blogging because I had a week-long fever, only to recover to a very bad haze :(

Didn't expect the haze condition to deteriorate so quickly. And amidst this "crisis", I experienced different faces of "human nature".

As I was pregnant, but I could not get any N95 mask (even when the PSI hiked to 400). We could only managed to buy surgical mask the day before, so it was Me+Beanie+Surgical mask against the haze lol.

Yesterday morning, I was commenting on my friend's facebook that I also wanted to buy a N95 mask, and this "friend" of his actually PM me on facebook.

I remember seeing on newspaper the prices for 20 pcs of mask, which probably cost about $20 pre-haze period. I was so shocked at him, blatantly quoting such a high price - FROM A RE-SELLER.

And what irks me was that he said "THIS IS BUSINESS". This is not a damn business!! I cannot fathom how people will want to profit from a somewhat "national crisis". Didn't the govt urge us to stay united, and look out for one another?

I didn't reply him after "scolding" him as above, and he apologized for messaging me, and even wished me a good day ahead.

I got so angry that I posted the screenshot on my facebook and instagram, and 1 of my friends misunderstood, thinking 20 pcs of face masks are going at $20, messaged me and wanted to buy.

That was when I told her he is selling 20 pcs at $75. She was also outraged and sent the screenshot to Stomp.

After he realised he was on Stomp, he still had the cheek to "question" "accuse" me.

HAHAHA. Through one of my friend's comment, I was also feeling amused that he was using the word karma. I don't believe in karma but I had to resist thinking that karma might return and bite him in his backside.

And because I am pregnant, I am very sensitive towards such "cursing". Cannot believe how can such a youngster's moral value be so degraded.

Did the haze erode our moral values?

I kept pondering the entire day if I had been very harsh towards him by posting on facebook and instagram. And I also felt very sorry towards my friend, since this idiot is under his friend's list.

However, I realised, if he wanted to compare his masks (probably bought before price hike) vs the masks that were restocked recently, I probably can relate the higher retailing prices to urgent shipment or freight cost.

But what rights does he have to impose a "surcharge" and benefitting entirely for his own gain? Seriously, a profit of $10 or $30 per box of masks, what can he do with that? Like that also happy?

After thinking through the entire day, I decided to blog about this. I managed to screenshot the last part of the conversation only this morning. And realised he disappeared from facebook (or he switched to private user).

LOOK! If he has done nothing wrong, why does he need to disappear? DUH.

Still so arrogant!

I cannot understand the mindset of such people. And he is not the only one doing that, when I heard other people's friends selling at similar prices. Even those medicinal halls or mama shops are doing the same..

Is there anything that the govt or CASE can do to such individuals or retailers in this urgent situation?

*****************************************************************************

At this difficult times, it's clear to see friends in need are friends indeed. In olden times, we call it 雪中送炭 。 At this very moment, we call this 雾中送Masks!! Appreciate so much! Dear Kat drove by to pass me some disposable masks, although she tried to find N95 masks for me at KAP cold storage but to no valid. I'm really really touched.

Ken and Karen also drove by to pass me N95 masks, which Karen bought at staff price from her clinic. I appreciate so very much!

I said I wanted to pick up from these guardian angels of mine at their houses but they said they will just drive by since they stayed very close to me. There are also many friends who gave me contacts to buy from who-and-who and also friends who offered to buy me buy too, but the masks really got out of stock too damn fast. And friends who finally got their very limited stocks are still so kind to offer me 1 or 2 from their own supply(by then I already got mine). It's so heart-warming and I'll forever remember who lend me a helping hand, especially when I'm at my most desperate times. Friends like this are hard to come by. It's not difficult to have friends around you at happy times but at catastrophic times, it's another story altogether. Sometimes it's about money, sometimes, it's more than that. Because we all know, at this difficult time, even money cant get you the masks you want!

True enough, it's really very disappointing that our government didnt do anything during this chaotic time. They didnt issue free masks to use in an orderly manner in advance. And because they didnt, masks supply and demand got out of control, with selfish and greedy people buying in BULK and then over-pricing them to make a quick and handsome profit from our country people. And people buy, because we have no choice. People with asthma like me, pregnant people like Lin. But of course, we're adamant to buy from him and to quote Lin's words, "I'll rather die than to buy from him." Eventually she got hers from a friend and a good friend of mine help me to buy from her clinic at staff price. Ironically, even her clinic, supposedly a medical institution, sells per mask at S$5, which is S$100 for a box of 20.

All Singaporeans were also frantically buying purifiers from major stores as well as online merchants, especially the latter who were also jacking up prices. Because the air was seriously very bad at 1 point. I woke up to a smoky room(air-conditioned) and my eyes were so stung that they were red and teary. =(
Even I had no choice but to place order for a S$660 air purifier from an online merchant, there was no stock. Anyway...it will be coming in by the end of this week. I reckon it's more consoling and...reasonable to so-call buy an expensive air purifier(which I was guaranteed that it works better than other models outside because it traps dust particulars as small as 0.01mircons instead of 0.1-0.3), THAN to buy over-priced masks which actually costs around S$1 on normal days.

It wasnt until midway through this crisis that our government supply 9million more masks to the local hospitals BUT NOT TO US. What the HELL?? And the hospitals didnt sell it cheaply either. At around S$65 per box from Tan Tock Seng hospital, how can those poor folks afford it?? Private clinics are selling at S$5 or S$6 per mask(around S$100 for a box) and some greedy business owners even up it further at S$10 per mask which is like S$200 per box.

Profit can easily range from few thousands to ten plus thousands, depending on how much they bought in. Conscience is real cheap. But if I know any shop or clinic which did such thing, I'm sure to boycott it in the future. FYI, for the prices of N95 masks, NTUC and Unity S$2.25, Watson $2.50, Tan Tock Seng Govt Hospital S$3, other greedy arbitraguers S$3 to S$4, private clinics S$5 to S$6, Ultra greedy business shop owners S$7 to S$10. To think government bodies and medical institutions can also sell so expensive like greedy businessman. Shame on you!

And even when the PSI past 400, which was the life-threatening stage, the government did not issue any stop-work order and those poor construction workers still had to work outdoors at long hours. They might be humble foreign workers but we have a heart. We really hope they can stop work and stop inhaling those unhealthy air, without having pay cut. However, still no stop-school or stop-work order.

When kind organization and people start to give out free masks, only did our government did the same, by supplying only to those with low incomes. It's really shameful. It's only when people step in to help, only then they feel they ought to do something so as not to make things look too ugly on them.

*shakes head*

I really wish Singaporeans can open their eyes bigger, if they were previously being closed earlier during the election.

Stomp: Caught on CCTV: Woman picks up iPad left behind by family at coffee shop / Re-post: 还有人象我们这么诚实吗?:P

Caught on CCTV: Woman picks up iPad left behind by family at coffee shop
STOMPer Ivy says a woman picked up an iPad that her family had left behind on a table at a coffee shop along Upper East Coast Road. The incident happened yesterday (June 24) at about 7.50pm.

According to the STOMPer, the woman in white, who was accompanied by two men, one in a white shirt and one in a pink shirt, left for another table after taking the unattended iPad from the table.

The STOMPer wrote:

"We were eating at a coffee shop at Upper East Coast Road on June 23 at about 7.50pm.

"When we were done, we left the iPad behind on the table accidentally.

"This party of three, two men and a woman, came over to the table and picked up the iPad.

"They then moved to another table to sit down to have their meal.

"They were caught on CCTV.

"I have made a police report, but so far no one has tried to return it.

"Do you know them? I want them to return my iPad."

The Comments on Stomp Facebook

SERIOUSLY, I really dont understand the MENTALITY of this group of people. Who says the auntie who picked up the free iPAD is LUCKY and she DESERVES it. Like WHY and HOW?? WHAT THE F?

Like I commented above, it's really shocking that greedy Singaporeans feel it's OKAY to keep things belonging to others(when they have the means to return it). You really shouldnt keep things which are not yours. My hubby and I once returned an iPAD by emailing the owner(in his email correspondences in the iPAD) and leaving our contact number behind. I also left behind a link to show this picture. Which is a printscreen of our email to the iPAD owner whose iPAD we picked up.

Seriously...I wonder what kind of moral values the parents imparted.....*shakes head* Yes, the owner is careless and probably deserves to lose it. But you think you deserve to OWN it? Like how? By staring at it greedily with saliva? No you DONT deserve it, at all. Taking something which you dont deserve BY robbing of others, will just make you lose something ELSE in kind, in other WAYS. Mark my words. What goes around comes around.

After my comment, I didnt see any comments(saying how the auntie deserves it and the guy who lost the iPAD deserves it) going in for like half an hour or so. I know very well IF I didnt put up the link to the picture above, alot of greedy and cynical people will definitely rebutt me it's because I'm not that lucky to pick up an iPAD and thus dont have a chance to keep it, thus the righteous comment.

I'm showing the picture, that I damn well have the chance but we didnt do it!

Really hor.........I told dearie...."Even if they really feel they wanna keep the iPAD and feel Finders Keeper that sort of shit, just keep the bloody mouth shut and dont comment. Ought to feel ashamed already!! But they didnt! They feel it's a 天经地义 kinda thing which strongly disgusted me. This is totally different from someone who won the lottery. People who won the lottery bought lottery tickets with their hard-earned money. They choose to use the money to buy a chance, a chance to win the great prize with with hard-earned money. They choose to buy that chance instead of using the money to buy other things. Therefore, if they win, they earned it; they deserve to. It's entirely a different thing. Of course, if a man spends far too much of his money money on lottery, then it's kinda stupid too.

This entry below was a re-post because it kinda links to the news above who was reported today.

Like I said, hubby and I found an iPAD last year and returned to the owner by emailing him. I got his email through his iPAD as no info on his contact was found.

We were at a shopping center where dearie and me both parted to visit the loo when he found an iPad in the cubicle which he was shitting. Lol. Then he said, "Pass it to customer service?" And I said, "Dont be silly. This is Singapore, not Japan. The customer service people will just keep it for his/her/their own since they can easily dont record the lost&found.

I'm so sorry, I'm so blunt sometimes to my (poor)hubby but you know, he's like the very 单纯 sort and always think everyone is as kind and without bad intentions like him, which is so not true. I hate it and love it. Sigh....so I always have this "heroine" feel in me to always want to protect him.....a man of 1.8m towering over me...a chillipadi....haha....

Anyway, with a roll of eyes, I asked him to pick it up while I figured what can I do with it. And so he picked it up and strolled out of the toilet with a look that clearly looked as if he just murdered someone and looking all guilty for it. ZzzZzzz. Initially I thought we can slowly explore the iPad to see if I can find out who's the owner after we find a place to sit down. But dearie was so fidgety and so NOT at ease holding on to the iPad because he felt as if he did something very wrong.

"I just feel uneasy holding on to this..." He whined.

"Okok, pass it to me."

And soOooOoo, knowing how not-at-ease he felt, WITHOUT looking for a place to sit down, we merely stood by some corner and I began to explore the iPad. Dearie said, "Cant find any info....but he must be a kid lah, because when I on the iPad, it was in the middle of some game." Then I rolled my eyes, "So play games must be a kid lah, then arent you a kid for always playing games on your iPad/S2 too?" He blushed immediately. Haha. Anyway, if it's a kid, he/she will be with his parents and I'm sure the parent wont let the kid to go toilet with his iPad. They will definitely keep for the kid one mah. Anyway, I'm not one to assume and jump into conclusions though I really dont think he/she will be a kid.

So I began exploring the iPad. And while I'm exploring(with bright eyes), dearie was like hesitating and finally said...."Dear....it doesnt belong to us, we better dont see the things inside lah.... And then I told him, "If I dont explore the stuff inside, how to find out who's the owner? There must be some info in the iPad."

While speaking so, I gleefully discovered that the iPad has active email correspondences! Which means I can see the owner's email addresses and able to email himself. However, there was no WI-FI at the moment so I use my own iPhone to email the owner. Eventually he called few hours later and we passed it back to them at the same shopping center. =)

They were of course very appreciative and thankful! Especially the girlfriend. They are in their twenties. They even bought us fruit tarts from Yamazaki! I recognized the box/plastic bag right from the start. Initially we were pleasantly surprised and declined accepting it for the first few times. But after the 3rd time, then I was like...."Haha ok then thanks......hee..." I'm sorry, I simply cant resist cakes/tarts!! If it's money, we'll definitely decline.

We did exchange a few sentences. You know me lah, auntie mah. I was like....hee....asking them to be careful lor because I doubt they will be so lucky again the next time. And the gf was like nodding her head up and down, agreeing totally. Lol. The bf looked shy and quiet. Dearie and I were saying dont be so careless in future...lol...are we very lo-soh?

It feels great to be appreciated like this. =)

Unlike the girl whose wallet I picked up in Jcube's toilet, not only was she demanding that we immediately return her despite saying we're in a movie and will return her after that. I was rather annoyed by her attitude. She simply checked her stuff anxiously when we met, took it and left. So not appreciative. It was a super fat wallet which I founded in the toilet cubicle too, with more than few hundreds of cash, some useless cards and such. Saw a student pass and realized it belongs to an Indonesian exchange student. That explains the huge stack of bills huh. I was thinking it will be very troublesome to return since we had to drop it at her letter box(with her address on her pass) when I fortunately found a clinic card which had her handphone number. So same thing, I dropped her a message to call me.

Hmm.......personally I dont like people who picks up stuff and claim it as his/her own IF there are means of finding who's the owner. Like handphones...etc. I lost my handphone twice last time and nobody returns it. Though of course if it's money like $10 or $50, I will pick it up la. But if a bag of few hundred thousands then wont. Confirm something wrong. Lol. I really do wish Singaporeans can be more like the Japanese....but guess it's hard.....It's sad that while our country can be among the top for economy, education, medical etc but ethics and manners wise.........haiz...............

Review of movie: Switch

Movie title: Switch
Ratings: 2.7/5
Comments: A major disappointment. Maybe the story wasnt really that bad BUT it was really directed so poorly that it's full of faulty logic. Coupled with lousy action moves, super fake and backward digital effects, mediocre acting......one can simply bore to death inside the cinema, The couple beside us left before the show ended. Tons of budget were wasted. If you love luxurious cars, lavish hotels, artistic setups, sexy cosplay attire, then maybe you might enjoy it.

In fact the entire movie looks like an advertisement of AUDI and all the hotels used in the filming!

Who's the director? Jay Sun. I only knew it now.
I'm so sure I will never catch another movie of his again.
Crap!

*Revamped List* Tips on reducing wastage and boosting efficiency (beauty related) - Make the best of what you have

This list is constantly being updated whenever I think of any new tips. =)
Feel free to comment if you have any helpful tips too. =)

If you're a skincare or makeup junkie, then you're realized usually you own many products which are not your favorites. Somehow, maybe the colour is too dark or too light etc. And it's a WASTE to let them sit there in your makeup box, waiting for them to expire or throw them away, simply because you dont like them enough.

Here are some flexible tips to make the best out of all your products so as to reduce wastage, because I hate to waste anything, no matter if it's a product or food(unless they're not fresh or I'm super full).

FYI, I have ultra sensitive combination to normal skin.

Tips on reducing wastage and boosting efficiency (beauty related)

1) If any skincare product(scrubs, facial sheet masks etc) gets sensitive on your face, use it on your neck or body(except breasts). Naturally, for whitening/firming products, use on body parts which you wanna whiten/firm. Even if they do not whiten/firm as promised, at least they do moisturize.

2) If it's a cleansing water or cleansing oil which you're sensitive to or it doesnt cleanse as well for your face, use it to clean your brushes. If it's a facial cleanser, use it as a hand wash.

3) If any foundation/bb cream/tinted moisturizer is too light or too dark for your skin, mix it with a lighter colour (to lighten it) or darker colour (to darken it).

4) If any foundation/bb cream/tinted moisturizer's consistency is too thick or too watery for your preference, mix it with one of a different consistency to balance it. You can also mix it with a moisturizer.

5) Always lie flat(180degrees) when you're masking(sheet mask) so that the essence can be evenly distributed across your face. If you're standing(even if it doesnt drip), because of gravity, most essence will leave your forehead and go to your chin. Thus it might be too rich for your chin to absorb, while your forehead has little to benefit.

However, always remove your facial sheet masks before they get drier than your face(around 10-15mins), else all the goodness will flow back to the mask because of osmosis. Thus, you can always use the still-wet mask on your neck, chest, kneecaps etc, anywhere which is drier than the existing mask.

6) If you have more than 1 brand of loose powder or compact of the same shade, use the cheaper one or the less favored one for the neck. Or, if the product has been opened for more than 8months or so(but haven't expire), use it for the neck.

7) If you're new to eye make up and would like a classic, easy-to-use, versatile and lasting palette, Urbay Decay's NAKED Palette is a pretty good choice because it has all the versatile colours for light makeup days as well as clubbing bold, smoky eyes. And they last a long long time. A very reasonable price(US$50) considering the variety, quantity(12) and quality of colours. It also comes with a decent quality of brush.

8) If you already own many eyeshadows which you feel are lacking of lasting power(thus you dont use that much), then you can try buying Urban Decay's Primer Potion(or any other eye primers) to prolong their lasting powder(apply just before the eyeshadow).

9) As the above, if you find your existing eyeshadows lacking in colour pay-off, you can try T'estimo Eye Bright-up base, which boosts intensity of powered eyeshadows(apply just before the eyeshadow). (Just got to know this product has been discontinued. Opps)

9) If you're on a budget or don't wish to spend that much on makeup or you're simply too lazy to bring too many stuff out, simply buy versatile products like e.g, Benefit's benetint, which can work as both blusher and lip product.

10) Concealers which are usually 1 shade lighter than your skin can double as highlighter under the eyes and t-zone(after foundation, before powder) to lend definition. Like wise with foundations which are generally too light for your skin

11) After using toner on clean face which was applied onto a piece of cotton wool, the same cotton wool can be used to clean the ears or belly button. Also can be used to clean/wet an eye liner brush before using.

12) Foundations/bb creams too dark for your skin can be used on the outer of your face, like hairline, temples, the hollows of your cheeks or along the sides of your nose to CONTOUR. So that you have a smaller face. Meaning, you can use 2 different foundations/bb cream at one time, just remember to buff out the edges evenly so you look more natural.

13) If you find a certain foundation/bb cream has too thick a coverage than you desire, you can use a sponge or foundation brush to buff it out. This can reduce the coverage and make it more natural looking. FYI, applying with fingers gives the max coverage. Similarly, if you want lesser coverage with a pressed powder, use a brush instead of the puff to apply it to your face.

14) If a newly purchased red lipstick is too "red" for you to take it, blot it once or twice and top it off with a pink or gold lipgloss to reduce the "red-ness".

15) If a blusher's colour is too strong than what you preferred, tap it lightly on the back of your hand before applying it to your cheeks with quick and big circular motions to reduce it's intensity. Tip# Only use a little product. The brush you use matters too. A denser brush picks up more colour than a fluffy brush. Using a light fluffy brush can better control the amount you pick up(which is what you want to do with a super pigmented strong colour blush).

16) Some eyeshadows' intensity can be strengthened using a wet brush.

17) For foundations/bb creams which are sensitive for your face, you can try using it on your neck(provided your face product's colour matches too). If you're still sensitive, then give it away. =)

18) If you dont wish to spend more money on buying brushes, simply buy compact products which COME with brushes

"After all I’ve got the most beautiful woman on the earth." - Brad Pitt. Angelina Jolie deserves better

Brad Pitt about His Wife, Angelina Jolie

A Secret of Love

My wife got sick. She was constantly nervous because of problems at work, personal life, her failures and problems with children. She has lost 30 pounds and weighted about 90 pounds in her 35 years. She got very skinny, and was constantly crying. She was not a happy woman. She had suffered from continuing headaches, heart pain and jammed nerves in her back and ribs. She did not sleep well, falling asleep only in the morning and got tired very quickly during the day. Our relationship was on the verge of break up. Her beauty was leaving her somewhere, she had bags under her eyes, she was poking her head, and stopped taking care of herself. She refused to shoot the films and rejected any role. I lost hope and thought that we’ll get divorced soon… But then I decided to act on it. After all I’ve got the most beautiful woman on the earth. She is the ideal of more than half of men and women on earth, and I was the one allowed to fall asleep next to her and to hug her shoulders. I began to pepper her with flowers, kisses and complements. I surprised her and pleased every minute. I gave her lots of gifts and lived just for her. I spoke in public only about her. I incorporated all themes in her direction. I praised her in front of her own and our mutual friends. You won’t believe, but she has blossomed. She became even better than before. She gained weight, was no longer nervous and she loved me even more than ever. I had no clue that she CAN love that much.

And then I realized one thing: ""The woman is the reflection of her man""

Brad Pitt

Article seen on both Identity Magazine and What'sapp Confessions

***************************************************************************************

If you read about Angelina Jolie, you'll know she's more than just a sexy goddess. This woman, has a heart of gold which most probably can shame most pastors or priests who lavish god's name. Because not only did she say good things, she does them too(scroll straight to Humanitarian Work).

I'm not entirely sure if this whole tribute is from Brad Pitt himself(saw this in my FB friend's feed from Identity Magazine)....BUT if it's really him, I'll just have to say......

"After all I’ve got the most beautiful
woman on the earth." - Brad Pitt

Thank god she is indeed the most beautiful woman on earth(inside and out)....else this husband of hers might just leave..........

Believe me.....if I'm her and I heard this......I'm very sure something inside will just turn very cold and chilled.

The whole tribute emphasized on her beauty and how precious she is because of who she is(Hey man, she's ANGELINA JOLIE!!) and what a prize she is with her beauty and everything. Was it me?? But I feel the whole tribute was simply focused on Brad's ego; that yes, he got the most beautiful woman on earth, like who can bed her and sleep beside her every night."

Why, he sounded like a proud owner of a limited edition of Ferrari and kinda troubled that it's in need of some repairs and if he didnt do it right, it will be scraped off.

When you truly love someone, everything she feels, you can feel it. If she had an accident and broke a leg, you'll feel pain for her. If she's depressed and starts crying, you dont feel any better. If she's happy, you feel happy too! Your heart feels for her, because she's the love of your life.

But if you read through the whole tribute, nothing emotional was mentioned from Brad Pitt. The closest thing he mentioned being emotional is...

"I lost hope and thought that we’ll get divorced soon…"

He was simply feeling sad he's not going to be the HUSBAND of Angelina Jolie anymore. Like he's going to lose ownership of this very valuable property!

Not once did he said things like, "I felt so sad that she's crumbling...." OR "My heart aches to see her like that..."

NOTHING.

I seriously cant imagine he can still be that observant and intuitive enough to mention "Her beauty was leaving her somewhere..." when his DEPRESSED wife is just 1 step away from being suicidal.

Your gorgeous wife is not your pretty pet!

Like if my hubby somehow contracted depression, will I still care whether he's looking less handsome and developed wrinkles and stuff like that? I probably wont. I didnt really care if he got a bigger belly when he's well now(unless it becomes a health issue) and I probably will care even lesser about his physical appearance if my darling is feeling depressed about something.

IF I'm feeling very very depressed AND my hubby tells me my beauty is leaving me somewhere, I will seriously make sure ME and MY BEAUTY leaves HIM entirely altogether.

You see, sometimes I feel it's easier for less than drop-dead-gorgeous ladies to find a man who really really loves her because these men already saw deep within them and love them for who they are. Because errr...yes...to put it simply...on the outside, superficial level, there wasnt too much...."packaging", so to speak.

On the other hand, for some drop-dead-gorgeous women, it's much more difficult to see who has her heart. Because most will be there for her body, some will be there for her beauty, and only perhaps around 20% there for her and her heart. Guys are like boys. Loves a challenge. Loves to take down their competitors. It's an ego thing. You simply need to differentiate falling prey to someone's romantic antics just because you're a very enviable prize to have!

In comparison, our Singapore blogger, BunBun, has a supporting boyfriend who still wishes to kiss her and tells her that he loves her everyday AFTER her face got ravaged by a carnivorous facial, is definitely much more touching... Glad that she's recovering...I feel she's so strong.

I sincerely and deeply feel Angelina Jolie deserves better. Someone who really understands and loves HER, this goddess of beauty and heart of gold, and not loving the person named "ANGELINA JOLIE".

(Disclaimer: This is just my personal opinion and there's no facts or proof that whether Brad Pitt said all the above because the message was copied from these 2 facebook pages, Identity Magazine and What'sapp Confessions. I'm just saying IF he really did say all that then these are just my personal opinions and I'm not liable for all responsibilities if anyone might be mislead in this entry)

How I organize my makeup/cosmetics - Part II - My Fave blushers/highlighters/eyeshadows/foundation/bb creams/sunscreens/primers

To continue from.............
*Edited* How I organize my makeup/cosmetics - General Reviews - Part I - My favorite eye and lip products.

Like I said, I lugged back some acrylic storage drawers from MUJI and I simply love them to bits!! Now I can see everything CLEARLY and can easily pick them out instead of having to dig all the time. =D

My new re-organized dressing table

Acrylic storage drawers purchased from MUJI

1st box
- 1st tier: Lipsticks & Glosses
- 2nd tier: Mascaras
- 3rd tier: Eyeliners/Eyebrow pencils

2nd box
-1st tier: Blushes/Bronzers
-2nd tier: Eye shadows
-3rd tier: Eye shadows with some of my everyday essentials like eyebrow powder, highlighter

3rd box
-1st tier: Foundations/bb creams
-2nd tier: Sunscreens & Primers

KUDOS If we have the same stuff!! Or at least, if you recognize them!! =D

Now onto my 2nd box.......

My favorite blush will undoubtedly be Revlon Power blush 020 in peach, which I've already hit pan. It breaks easily, not super pigmented but I love it because it's more subtle and is buildable with more intensity. Thus it suits every makeup look I wear. MAC blush in Melba is another very similar blush to Revlon's except it's super pigmented and therefore, a light sweep will give you an orange blush instantly. Sometimes when I'm wearing very sheer makeup, I will prefer to use Revlon because it can give me a sheer peachy colour that looks super natural. For MAC, you will simply look you have blusher on. I feel it's not as smooth as Revlon's one too. Hope Girl's blushes(in leopard prints) are pretty cool and pigmented too, love them, so I own 2 colours, 1 pink and 1 peach. Very lasting.

The most left NARS blush I have is Glida and the most right Maybelline blush'em, I had it in "I'm so energetic". Both are beautiful coral colours which I have yet to try.

This tier consists of mostly Bourjois baked eye shadows and L'oreal Infalliable Eyeshadows(right side). For Bourjois, the colours with more colour payoff and intensity when applied wet are the dark grey and black pots(the bottom 2) but they do have fall outs. Not very lasting, therefore needs constant touch-up. As for L'oreal, the colours are really pigmented with great colour payoff. However, with their velvety and muddy consistency, they can become patchy or uneven if you dont blend them well. Lasting powder is not bad.

Bottom right is Heavy Rotation, my go-to eyebrow powder. Pretty lasting and pigmented. The fantastic thing is, I've been using almost everyday for maybe a year now? It still haven hit pan. Other than applying a little goes a long way, this small palette seriously have lots of product. The square pinkish box is Holika Holika Silk Aura Highlighter, which I've already hit pan. It has 3 colours, white, golden beige and pinkish shimmer. It lends a very natural but yet glowy highlight to your face, instantly making your face more 3D. I love it, so I bought another brand new one which I always carry around in my makeup pouch. Sad thing is, it's not lasting, have to touch up very often.

Shu Uemura eye shadows are great too, most have pretty good pigmentation and very lasting as well. One of my fave colours is ME Brown 850(pictured). It's a very elegant and classy brown. It lends depth to your eyes single-handedly but doesnt come off as very heavy-duty. Therefore I love to wear this for work. I tend to have the need to put some brown-based eye shadow or at least eyeliner most of the time because I have uneven eyelids. FML.

The lime green shimmer eye shadow duo is from The Face Shop and I remembered a friend love it so much that she went to buy. However she told me disappointingly that it has discontinued. Just this eyeshadow(or colour) alone, I feel it's lasting powder is so-so even with primer, but it's really shimmery and make your eyes pop. The black-capped small pot is L'oreal's gel liner. Very wet and creamy, thus smudge like crazyyyyy even with primer. If I air it to make it drier, maybe it wont be so bad.

2nd top left green eyeshadow is from O2 Skin....which I believe the Sg outlets have closed down. The colours are so pigmented and they're extremely cheap too. I regretted not getting more colours.

Here are my foundations and BB cream. And real sadly, I've tanned from my Bali trip and teambonding day thus some of the colours already dont suit me that well. However, I still have to say my favorites are......

in order of their coverage, from the most to the least, are......
Etude House Collagen moistfull BB cream in shade 1(lighter of the 2),
Bourjois Healthy Mix gel foundation in 51 Vanille Clair,
Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in nude(2nd last tube from right) and
Cathydoll CC cream in beige(leopard prints tube on the right).

They all have different qualities, different coverage, different texture, to cover all my needs.

However, for the best lasting power, it will be in the order of
Bourjois Healthy Mix,
Etude House Collagen moistfull,
Cathydoll CC cream and then
Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer.

In terms of SPF, it will be....
Cathydoll CC cream(SPF 50),
Etude House Collagen moistfull(SPF 30),
Laura Mercier(SPF 20) and then
Bourjois healthy mix(no SPF).

For Urban Decay Naked Skin liquid foundation, it just didnt struck me as anything special. It's very watery and feels weightless on your skin. Other than that, it doesnt have much coverage despite being a lightweight foundation. In fact, even Cathydoll's CC cream can correct the complexion colour. This one, did nothing. It doesnt have SPF and it's not lasting too. Yes basically, I regretted buying this.

I heard alot of raves for Pore Putty BB cream(in natural) but was kinda disappointing because it was too yellowish for my skin. It's so yellow that I think very people will be suited to this colour. But it has SPF 50 PA+++ so I might just mix it with another lighter colour just to make it less yellow.

Physicians forumula Youthful wear in LIGHT is way too dark for me, even now that I've tanned abit. It's texture is very thick, almost like a paste and the accompanied foundation brush(not pictured) absolutely fail at blending it out. It left streaks all over. That being said, if blended nicely, it does creates a flawless and poreless look, which is what it claims. But firstly, you need to counter the dryness. I have combination skin and I still find it drying. Might have to moisturize it real well prior to using.

About.U(New York)(golden cap tube) is a fairly good BB cream too. With SPF 28 PA++. I only remember it being a little too light for me but other than that, it's a pretty good bb cream too with pretty good coverage. Interestingly, while the brand is from New York, this bb cream is made in Korea.

Here are all my sunscreens and primers, EXCEPT the Beige and silver tube right in the middle, which is Shills Natural Science BB cream. Upper tier no space already. =(

From left to right
Sunplay SPF 60 PA+++ is a hydrating sunblock which you can skip moisturizer if you're in a rush. Hypoallergenic.
Biore UV Bright Facemilk with SPF 50 PA+++ in white bottle is for brightening and to control oil at t-zone.
Stila 1 step corrector(mutiple colour tube) is a colour-correcting base. It simply cover redness and brighten up your face alittle so as to make it look more even. No coverage whatsoever. But if you have generally blemish-free and hyperpigmentation-free skin, it's possible to wear this alone(or maybe with some loose powder) to go out. Love this but I remember this being kinda pricey for such a small bottle...maybe S$50? It gets used up very fast.

Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Primer Potion, major disappointment. I think I only used once.
Shills Natural Science BB cream. The colour is abit too light for me, other than that, it has SPF 30 and has good coverage. Good oil control, so is suitable for oily skin.
The tube being blocked below it is a sunscreen which I'm allergic to, Biore UV aqua rich watery essence, SPF 50 PA+++. So I use it for my body. It gives a white cast(still natural) though so there's a need to apply it evenly. It's not true to it's name though, it's not watery, gives a rather matt look. It doesnt leave a sticky finish behind so it's okay for body too.

Etude House Collagen Moistfull soothing ampoule primer is a primer with slight shimmer. Gives a dewy finish. You need to top it off with loose powder in order to maintain the light and dewy look. But it doesnt have much coverage, lasting power okay. Need to control the amount used. The only bad point is sometimes "flaky bits" will appear after you try to blend it after some sunscreen. The only sunscreen I tried without this problem is Biore UV Bright Facemilk in white bottle(pictured)

I usually love to use this to create a no-makeup makeup look(假素颜).
You can view what/how I used them here together with Stila 1 step corrector(mutiple colour tube) ; 假素颜 look (Fake bare face)

Lastly, MUFE HD Primer in #5 was my favorite heavy-duty primer for my old clubbing days, when my skin was oilier. I realized constant use will make your face drier, which might be good for overly oily skins. I think it's because of this that my skin became more "normal". Or is it because of aging? =P Anyway, this is DA BOMB if you want your makeup to last for more than 12hours without touching up(maybe some blotting only). It's really amazing. It has a white cast so sometimes applying it on the t-zone(oiliest zone) can give your face more dimension too.

Be sure to ask a pro Sephora staff to choose the suitable primer for you as different needs different #. Mine is #5, blue, to add radiance to skin and to reduce minor imperfections.

Lastly lastly, the Benefit's High Beam on top left corner emits a natural and subtle glow when layered after your foundation and before your powder. It lasts generally better than powdered highlighters alone. It is not buildable so dont go dabbing more and more or you'll end up looking like an alien with enlarged pores.

That concludes the end of my entry!! Yes!!

As I mentioned I have another 2 small storage drawers beneath my dressing table for some more miscellaneous stuff like sponges/puffs and stuff. But they're not that important.

Oh if you may have realized why I did not mention any concealers? It's because I generally dont own any. It's not because I have flawless skin, it's just that I prefer to use the foundation/bb cream which I'm using on the face then to build on more coverage on those imperfections. I prefer them as they blend more naturally and flawlessly than a separate concealer which might be too light/orangy/grey etc. That being said, I dont have very super-disastrous-dark hyper-pigmentations or dark eye circles.

However!!! Just few weeks ago, I had a very very bad outbreak at the side of my chin area and it was because I insisted using the DHC cleansing oil which I bought, even when I know it doesnt cleanse off my makeup completely. I know that's really a stupid move. But it was expensive and I thought double cleansing with Clarisonic can help to cleanse the oily residue properly. But NO it cant!! I shall just have to give up and use it to clean my brushes instead.

The pimples were angry-looking, large, red, filled with pus and it was so so so horrible that I had to buy a concealer to conceal it. I was really pretty upset as it took a long while for those pimples to subside despite using a much raved spot treatment product. I seldom have this problem. I was so sad then that I almost went to a dermatologist! =(

But thank god I found a life saver product(saved myself few hundreds) and finally they're gone now. But they left behind some marks. =~( They're lighter now already.....they were much darker few days back. =( You can just imagine how bad the outbreak was. And I'll share what I've used to treat those acnes and to lighten the hyper-pigmentations as well as my one and only fave concealer in the next Jun monthly favorites. =)

*Edited* How I organize my makeup/cosmetics - General Reviews - Part I - My favorite eye and lip products

Ahem~ Today's post is about my dressing table!! I know it sound so bimbo and boliao...but but...I've spent hours RE-organizing it and I just wish to do an entry on it!! =P I will also include short reviews on some makeup items to make this post more informative! =)

If there's such a word describing organizing freak, do let me know because I'm one. I re-organize my dressing table once every few months, just so to have a new feel and to organize it even better! As you can see, I have TONS of stuff and that's why the dressing table which I chose is different from the normal dressing who only fits alittle stuff. This off-white dressing table was bought from a shop at S$500 that sells all the kid's furniture at a big mall(I think is IFC, sorry dont rem) located at Sungei Kadut(CCK). It's supposed to be a kid's writing table. =P

BEFORE

Only the top left corner are Dearie's stuff; his perfumes. All else are mine. =P

As you can see, my stuff are still pretty organized with the different sizes of organizing drawers/storage boxes. The most left is a mini 4 tier storage box imprinted with kawaii bears, bought from Japan Home. The kawaii strawberry "flowerpots", lime green checkered "flowerpot", baby pink brush holder were from DAISO. The Hello Kitty 2 tier drawers were packaging of eggrolls, bought at Japan airport. The most right Hello Kitty box was from the Hello Kitty shop at 2nd level of Somerset 313. Their prices are pretty reasonable. Mini fan from Japan Home too. Leftside black "Anna Sui" styled mirror, you can get from mini.bits(korea)

And yesterday, dearie and I went to JEM(Jurong East). It was the official opening day and boy, was it crowded. There were a few big brands like Sephora, H&M, Kinokuniya and MUJI which made me so happy. Finally we westerners dont need to go all the way to town just to get a Make-Up-Forever Primer or something. What makes me even happier is MUJI was giving a 10% discount to purchases over S$100 on top of a S$10 gift card. Finally I can lay my hands on my favorite acrylic boxes!!!

I've always loved them but dont bear to buy them in whole sets for all my cosmetics because they're pricey. God knows how many sets of drawers I need for ALL my makeup. I've NEVER seen MUJI with great sale, this might be the only one and the best I've seen so I thought if not now then when? Finally I bought 2 of the 3 tier slim drawers, 1 2-tier thick drawers and 1 chunky drawer. Dearie seldom dissuade me from buying anything so it's quite the 1st time he talked more than a few sentences to discourage me. Because he felt spending over a hundred on these "plastic containers"(to him) is very stupid. But I tried and tried to explain to him it's MUCH easier to find and pick out my stuff this way because it's all transparent in a broad surface area, not to mention, definitely more organized!

With 2 packets of food stuff(around S$8), total bill is S$105 after discount. We got a S$10 giftcard and a recycled MUJI bag as well.

AFTER!!!
The 3 acrylic boxes are right in the middle, stacked on top of each other.

Basically, most of my makeup stuff for the face, eyes and lips are in the acrylic drawers.

Before I start with my acrylic storage box, I will just mention the 2 bulky loose powder on the right hand side, on top of the tall Hello Kitty Box are..........Laura Mercier in Translucent, which is very finely-milled loose powder which gives zero to sheer coverage. It doesnt have any colour so the foundation/bb cream which you use with it is very important. But I feel it's lasting power is really poor. Oh and the packaging sucks too. So I transferred them to an old Shu Uemura loose powder box. The other loose powder I own is Beauty Credit Lovely face powder in 21 crystal, not as finely-milled as the former, thus it wont look as smooth(better to use it without heavy BB cream). But it has better coverage and also lasts much better. My fave loose powder is actually from Etude House but is already discontinued. *sad*

As for palettes, my favorite and most often used one is the legendary Urban Decay NAKED palette. Super pigmented and gorgeous colours which are very lasting. Favorite colours are Darkhorse, Smog and Sidecar

The 1 bulky blusher which I love but yet cant store in the acrylic box is The Face Shop Lovely Me Ex Pastel Cushion Blusher in peachVery fine texture and subtle so doesnt burden the cheeks(make your makeup look thick). But better to apply lightly with your brush instead of using the puff(doesnt distribute colour evenly). Colour is buildable.

I have another storage box beneath the table for some other stuff like pressed powder, nail polishes and stuff. I own a few pressed powders from Etude House and found them to be all very outstanding. Etude House BB magic pact has very natural and sufficient coverage, lasts well enough and is good in oil control. While Etude House Precious Mineral Sun Pact has the highest SPF of 50, PA +++ and is equally outstanding as the former. I mentioned it before here

Going on to my MEGA acrylic cosmetic box....

1st box
- 1st tier: Lipsticks & Glosses
- 2nd tier: Mascaras
- 3rd tier: Eyeliners/Eyebrow pencils

2nd box
-1st tier: Blushes/Bronzers
-2nd tier: Eye shadows
-3rd tier: Eye shadows with some of my everyday essentials like eyebrow powder, highlighter

3rd box
-1st tier: Foundations/bb creams
-2nd tier: Sunscreens & Primers

KUDOS If we have the same stuff!! Or at least, if you recognize them!! =D

Ok so here are my lippies and glosses. Some are in their boxes, either because they are new or because their packaing are soOOoo pretty that I dont bear to discard for fear of scratching the tube.   So I have some Loreal, Revlon, NYX lipsticks...and some lipglosses. Hmmm.....some of my favorite glosses/lippies are;

Christian Dior - Dior Addict in 583 Papillion(not pictured because it's in my makeup pouch), the only pink gloss which I love and look good in. Very posh packaging too.
Maybelline Watershine Collagen Gloss in CP21(5th from left, brand new for stock-up), a nudish pink which is so so so pretty and matches whatever makeup I wear.
Too Faced Colour Drenching Lip cream in Spice Spice Baby(most left), a very moisturizing lip product which is inbetween lipstick and gloss, in super classy and glam chrome gold packaging!

I especially dont like the Canmake Creamy Touch Rouge in misty orange which is the gold tube in the picture. Pretty packaging yes, as I love anything gold. BUT it flaked so badly on my lips and it looked totally horribly. It's not as if I have dry lips. My lips are fine. But the colour just....bleed apart. Use once and that's it.

I know Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain are like dupes of the popular Clinque chubby sticks but they failed badly. Because this colour I own, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in Honey/Douce, totally didnt show up on me. I cant even use it for once. Despite they're cheap, it's really a waste of money. It's weird, all the beauty bloggers raved about it...I wonder is it because my lips are not dry enough? The tube simply slide through and fro across my lips many times without any colour showing up. It's most bizarre.

The Laura Mercier lipgloss has a very minty taste...I dont mind mint...but I feel they toOoo minty. It's as if I applied medicated oil on my lips.

Of course, I have to mention my favorite eyelid primer of all times is Urban Decay Primer Potion(mini purple bottle with silver cap), which I already stocked up a full sized tube during the last Sephora's Member's sale. They extend the lasting power of your eye shadows and make your eye makeup more smudge-proof. Fairydrops Platinum Mascara(bright pink tube) is also pretty good in lengthening, but not very evenly because of it's 3-ball-ball brush design(whoever designed this kinky shape. =.=) SANA extra long mascara(on the right of the pink tube) is also pretty good in lengthening. Majolica Majorka lash expander is very smudge proof and holds your curl well, however I dont feel it lengthens very much. Hope Girl(leopard prints tube) mascara however was kinda disappointing because it smudges kinda easily although it's not bad in lengthening. Yet to try Maybelline the falsies mascara(purple tube).

Hmm........Especially love NYX Jumbo Eye pencils(most left white tube). They're super pigmented, doesnt smude, very lasting and super cheap too! Love the colour in 607 Horse raddish which is a lovely summery green. I feel all my pencil liners all smudge(even with primer).....nothing to rave about. But I'll say the one which lasts the longesttttttt until it smudges(alittle only though) is Solone Waterproof eyeliner. You can get it from SASA or Beaute Spring and it's very cheap, maybe around or less than S$15. But Etude House Proof 10 liquid eyeliner(the one with blue cap) is pretty good!! Doesnt smudge, super water-proof and pretty lasting. But again, I seldom use liquid eyeliner because it easily make you look harsh. The NARS glitter eye liner is so irritating, I hardly use it and for some unknown reason, the cap became real sticky!! I had to put it into a ziplock bag.

I feel gel liners usually smudge lesser and they're even better when they're more than 4-6months old! Because they kinda dry up alittle already which makes them more smudge-proof. My 2months old L'oreal gel liner is so wet and creamy now that even with primer, it still smudges a little. I regretted throwing away my 1 year old unfinished TheFaceShop gel liner. Sigh...... Not that I mean it's good okie! It's only good AFTER it has been opened for more than 6months! The first few months also smudge one.

OMG!!! This post is getting too long. =( But I guess I cant stop halfway....I'll continue the part 2 again, for the face products like blushes, highlighters, loose powder, foundations/bb creams and sunscreens. =)

How I organize my makeup/cosmetics - Part II - My Fave blushers/highlighters/eyeshadows/foundation/bb creams/sunscreens/primers
